A dedication to dairy vial production
“offering the ideal Sampling Vial“
Ease of use
CAPITOL has 45 years of experience in sampling and we offer a wide range of dairy sampling vials.
Our dairy sampling vial used for Payment and Herd Improvement purposes has a hinge to allow one-hand manipulation. This feature assists to preserve the cleanliness and integrity of the sample, and as result improves the reliability of the dairy sample.
Since our vial is leak-proof and aseptic; it has become the “gold standard” for quality and payment testing of milk.
The users, farmers and laboratory operators appreciate the manipulation of flip top containers:
Molding process for the flip-top vials • Cores are out
• user friendly as no contact or contamination of the lid is permitted • convenience for the field operations as the lid is always connected to the vial • one-hand opening and closing speaks for improved cleanliness and secure traceability
Years of experience has made CAPITOL Europe a leader in supplying sampling vials and services to the dairy industry.
• Flipper closes the vials and goes back
Our seal integrity guarantees that our liquid storage containers are the ideal transport solution for general sampling.
CAPITOL’s core competence Our technical developments are based on our exclusive patented injection molding processes. Our one-piece flip-top containers are molded through a very unique patented process. What is different from traditional molding processes is the ability to close the molded vial while it is still in the mold. This provides major benefits for our products and our customers: 1. Seal Integrity - The seal between the top and the body is formed while the plastic is cooling, creating a seal that is moisture tight, even through repeated opening and closings. 2. Aseptic Processing - The vial is closed while it is still in the mould, free from any contamination.
For the Laboratories
• Vial is ejected
The flip-top vial design is ideally suited for optimized throughput in the laboratory, as there is no risk of misplacing the lid onto another vial. Additionally, there is no risk of cross contamination in changing the lids from one sample to the other. The hinged vial is efficient for laboratory automation.
Sustainability The plastic resins used to manufacture the sampling vials can be easily recycled after use. CAPITOL Europe offers solutions for on-site grinding prior to recycling.
Other field of use Many vials are available with an elastomer septum for ease in field sampling. Our plastic vials can also be used for different purposes such as: • Liquid storage and packaging • Environmental sampling (water, soil...) • Food sampling or packaging • Drug abuse testing
There is a real focus from CAPITOL Europe on the dairy activities because its needs specific knowledge and perfect manufacturing. Our reputation of excellence brings confidence not only to the user in the field but also to the laboratory, in the way that we secure the entire process under strict economical contingencies.

A breakthrough product: NEW MILK SAMPLING VIALS WITH RFID TAG TECHNOLOGY Radio frequency identification tags are widely used in a variety of industries to link data with a physical product or sample. CAPITOL Europe has patented the application of RFID Tags to be used on milk sampling. The system platform consists of a disposable flip-top container for milk collection and a reusable RFID Tag that is attached to each container. CAPITOL Europe provides the handling equipment to apply RFID tags to a new container and remove RFID Tags from used containers.
CAPITOL Europe also provides the recycling system to grind the used containers for recycling.
Since the beginning we provide full automation for the flip-top vial opening and closing. CAPITOL Europe offers its expertise in the laboratory integration; including RFID data management and automation concepts to optimize the use of our specific flip-top hinged containers.
Automatic integrated systems The vials are automatically presented to the milk analyzer, through very efficient and fast transfer on fully automatic conveyors - This conveyor system can be adapted for Foss, Delta Instruments and Bentley Instruments.
CAPITOL Europe delivers value:
To optimize the throughput of the analyzers the vials are automatically sent to the appropriate tests and the system is totally flexible until the last analysis is performed. With the help of RFID tags, the host computer will read the tags and assess pre-programmed tests or monitor any specific change at any moment.
CAPITOL Europe has a dedicated approach on a case-by-case basis, and is involved in: • Vial design • Regulatory support to ensure compliance to all regulatory procedures • Mold development • Product manufacturing • Automation
Our proven experience unlocks a new reality where high efficiency in vial handling and analysis is routine.

example with the dutch Central Laboratory
“Turning concepts into reality“
The Dutch milk-testing laboratory Qlip, is the most modern and efficient laboratory of its kind. This re-engineered laboratory started with Raudszus Electronic Ltd., in 2002, with the installation of the first integrated automation designed to analyze up to 15,000 payment vials per day. In 2006 Qlip and its automation partners signed an agreement to build an automation system for Herd Improvement. The system is designed to process 50,000 milk samples per day.
Qlip is an independent service provider for the dairy sector.
Herd recording CAPITOL Europe has developed a brand new concept to support the Herd Recording sampling methods, comprising of a disposable 31 ml DHIA vial, a rack and transport box, and the integration of RFID data management to guarantee perfect traceability and results integrity. The concept is using RFID tags on the vial carriers (racks) to locate each individual sample. The vials are identified by the position in the rack and in the box (#1 to #100), and the information is transferred onto the tags at the one end of each vial carrier.
The laboratory in Zutphen is specialised in routine analysis of ex-farm milk samples. This involves testing of herd bulk milk samples for milk payment purposes as well as testing of samples from individual animals in the frame of official milk recording. Company Profile and Mission: Dairy farmers and dairy processors do their best day after day. Qlip provides the services that make those efforts demonstrable. Qlip stands for quality assurance in the dairy chain.
RFID offers permanent tracking and 100% flexibility.
A few facts 200 employees on two sites. 15,000 payment vials per day on 6 analyzers 50,000 HR vials per day, on 18 analyzers Accredited laboratories in Zutphen (Nl) and Leusden (NL)
Mr. Hans van Hemert, Project Director for the two lines of automation:
Supplier of services and products in the area of quality assurance and food safety in the dairy chain.
“In the milk laboratory from Zutphen, Holland, thousands of milk sample receptacles run fully automated from station to station for analysis, whereas electric chips also called RFID-Tags determine the route to be followed by the sample receptacle back to the laboratory. Thus, each year millions of samples, which originate from around 20,000 Dutch farmers, are being analyzed. The majority of these samples are tested as a routine for milk contents and quality. In the past, the milk samples were assigned to the supplier via pre-assigned barcode labels, which had to be attached manually on the sample receptacles; this procedure required significant time and costs. Since 2004 costs have been reduced while at the same time, the safety of milk sampling has been raised considerably. The whole chain from the barn to the laboratory is perfectly optimized and secured. The sampling system is uniquely flexible by design. Should a milk supplier require a special analysis, this requirement can be sent via Internet to the laboratory. When the milk sample enters the laboratory, all tests run automatically. The ability to add a test online, additional service we offer to our suppliers, is possible only thanks to the introduction of the new system. A change over to automation and computerization of the activities in the sector of analysis of herd recording and quality samples becomes crucial nowadays to secure our leadership.”
The CAPITOL Europe vial has become the industry driver for all changes involving vial security, sample integrity, and optimization of the entire bulk milk sampling chain, from the barn to the laboratory. We provide our customers with “turn-key” systems and pride ourselves in providing solutions to our customers’ problems. This pro-active approach allows CAPITOL Europe to work hand-in-hand as partners from the project design stage through logistics, and final use in the laboratory. CAPITOL Europe is an industry leader for dairy sampling, and we are excited about the possibility of working with you in customizing a solution that best fits your needs.
