Connecting Tokyo and Paris. Sanya and Aubervillier have some similarities:
山谷 San’ya is an area in the Taitō district of Tokyo, located south of the Namidabashi intersection, around the Yoshino-dori. It is a region with a distinct culture, an area of crowded, cheap rooming houses where day laborers live. It has retained its association with both lower class workers and with craftsmen. Within the past few years gentrification has begun to encroach on the area. Aubervilliers in Paris is a commune in the Seine-Saint-Denis department in the Île-de-France region in the north-eastern suburbs of Paris, France. Aubervilliers is classified as a so called ZUS (Zones Urbaines Sensibles). Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber walked almost the same route around Sanya and Aubervielliers.
