INFRASTRUTTURA FRAGILE
urban-architectural design on landscapes hit by natural disasters terre fragili #2 workshop The landscape of the eastern coast of Sicily is characterized by the relationship between the linear city, crossed by heavy infrastructures and grafts of orthogonal short streames called “fiumare-impetuous and dangerous in times of heavy rain. The project is conceived through the adoption of minimal, but necessary actions. The design of the square Itala, suspended and used as a parking lot on the Fiumara, improves the public space, and recapture a visual and direct contact with the water. From the square, a path leads through a new parking lot, light infrastructure under the highway, to the existing sports facilities, reconnecting them to the urban surrounding. As the path goes on we meet a new residential complex that adopts a self-construction strategy in the voids provided for such use, associating to each dwelling also a portion of land to be allocated to vegetable gardens.

WALKING ON THE MOON
redevelopment of the area of the former sugar refinery in Foligno, between public expectations and private interests master programme final project with Pamela Casali, Maria Alessandra Luccioli
The former sugar refinery in Foligno contributed to give a status to the town. The area was recently bought by Coop Centro Italia, owner of the largest supermarket chain in Italy, and it is on the edge of a huge transformation. The project, which attempts to make public life reconquer the place, actually private, concentrate different functions and services in a permeable slab with a walkable roof. Walking on this surface, similar to a moonscape, allows to create a new interface and dialogue with the city, as collective and linking space.

EASYFLUX
housing for young people architectural competition
The concept is to make living in a building as an easy, clean, even industrial system. That influences the flats and all the building design. Young people are dynamic, always busy. The flat is mainly for basic need, it has to be smart, simple and very functional. Time is never enough and most of it is spent away from home. What if the living space allows a fast organization and more time for relax? Easy living for a complicated life. types of users and flats

PALAZZO CANANI
restoration and new use of a hystoric bulding in Ferrara architectural restoration lab final project with Luca Grandi, Barbara Padovani
The project starts with a complex study of the residential building, from its origin to its actual condition. The building is located in Ferrara city centre, in the nearby of many other hystorical buildings, churches and museums. Its rooms and spaces are not suitable for a residential function in this age. Therefore the new use proposed is a restoration school, a new function which fits properly the differents rooms and big spaces of the building.

ANAGRAMMA
housing in Mestre-Venice- country area architectural design lab final project
with Nicole Passarella, Gianmaria Socci, Lucia Zamponi The task was to design a new residential district in Campalto, part of the huge low-density metropolitan area on the “terra ferma of Venice. Against the complete filling of the last agricoltural areas surviving, the project has the ANAGRAM as a key concept: reversing the order of the same elements to reach unexpectected results. Proportion becomes the main argument of the design, resulting in a general will for slimness, which allows to build with a very small foot-print. The bulding presents an open public ground floor with neighborhood facilities and a complex stairs system which leads, in a quasi-urban atmosphere, to the ultra thin apartments containing all the home-features in trapdoors-like compartiments.
