OUR VISION FreedomProject Academy is committed to changing culture and restoring the nation through Classical education, teaching Judeo-Christian values, and preparing future patriot leaders.

OUR STORY Founded in 2011, FreedomProject Academy offers a f irst-rate, Classical education for Kindergarten through High School. FPA is a fully accredited school, recognized for authenticity and excellence, without compromising core values or academic standards. FPA is grounded in Judeo-Christian beliefs as promoted in the Constitution by our Founding Fathers, who strove to guarantee
the preservation of our God-given liberties. Our classes are delivered live online through interactive classrooms to students across the world. FPA is one of the fastest growing private schools in the country and is also at the forefront in the f ight to educate families without ideological spin or government control.

COMMON CORE FREE FreedomProject Academy remains staunchly opposed to the implementation of Common Core in public, private, and homeschool curricula, and will not tolerate Common Core teaching methods or materials in our own classrooms. FPA can remain Common Core free because we do not accept a penny of state or federal money. Instead we rely on tuition revenue and the generous tax-deductible donations of supporters. For more information on Common Core and FPA’s stance, visit fpeusa.org/commoncore.

FULLY ACCREDITED FreedomProject Academy is fully accredited by the National Association of Private Schools.

EXPECTATIONS & COMMITMENT FreedomProject Academy is a school, not a self-paced program or a tutorial service. We offer the structure of a school with scheduled live classes and f irm due dates. In order to achieve our educational mission, we ask each and every family to partner with FreedomProject Academy. While our approach to education in the classroom remains constant, we need an equal commitment from families. Simply stated, we need our families to be fully invested in the educational process alongside us. Students must attend classes on a regular basis, participate in class discussions, submit assignments on time, and work with teachers to achieve their very best. Parents must monitor student progress, respond promptly to communications from teachers and administration, and help students manage workload and due dates. Complete list of student and parent expectations at fpeusa.org.

HOW FPA WORKS FreedomProject Academy’s curriculum is designed to teach students how to think, not what to think. Parents who consider enrolling their children in FPA must understand that our school seeks to build the broad and solid intellectual foundation that only Classical education provides. Students attending FPA are expected to attend and participate in live, online classes throughout the week. All student assignments, quizzes, tests, and grades will be stored in Canvas, which is accessible from any computer 24/7.

ENROLLMENT FEE FreedomProject Academy requires a non-refundable enrollment
fee of $150 for each student enrolled. Although remittance of the enrollment fee is not a down payment of tuition, it does guarantee your student(s) a seat in available classes (but not specif ic sections).

FAMILY TUTORING PACKAGE FreedomProject Academy offers an optional Family Tutoring Package for students in grades 6 – 12. Tutoring sessions meet every Friday throughout the school year. The cost of the package is $100 per family (applies to current students enrolled) for a full year of English, math, and science tutoring.

PREMIUM PARTNERSHIP FreedomProject Academy is pleased to offer our Premium Partnership program. For a $150 fee per family, FPA will provide a Premium Partnership coordinator who will arrange and oversee the transition to our school for you, facilitating such things as Placement Testing, Book Buying, Required Technology, Testing Technology, Expectations, First Week Check-in, and much more. The coordinator will walk you through every aspect of enrolling and preparing for the f irst day of classes, and will be available to you for special assistance throughout the school year.

STUDENT REFERRAL CREDIT FreedomProject Academy families enrolled in the 2016-2017 academic year will receive a $50 Referral Credit toward tuition for the 2017-2018 or following year, if a NEW student acknowledges them on their enrollment form. A new sibling also qualif ies. Tuition credit does not carry any cash value outside of FPA, and
can only be credited toward a family’s tuition account, not used as a refund or applied toward purchases from our store. Referral credits cannot be applied toward the $150 Enrollment Fee. There is no limit as to how many $50 referral credits can be awarded per family.

PLACEMENT TESTING Because of extreme disparities in academic preparation among enrolling students, FreedomProject Academy requires all new students to complete placement tests. These tests are essential to helping us determine the appropriate grade level for your student. Prospective Kindergarten students complete an online readiness test with a teacher. First-time students entering grades 1 through 5 must complete math and reading tests. First-time students in grades 6 through 12 complete placement tests in math as well as grammar, reading comprehension, and writing. Some science courses and second or third year foreign language courses also require placement testing for f irst-time enrollment. Students have a three-week window after enrolling to complete all required placement tests. FPA will only enroll students in courses for which they show prof iciency through their placement testing.

DECISIONS BASED ON PLACEMENT TEST RESULTS ARE FINAL

FULL PAYMENT REFUND POLICY Families have 72 hours after tuition is paid to claim a full refund. Students choosing to withdraw after 72 hours and before 4 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, will receive a 50% reimbursement of the total tuition due. As of 4 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, NO REFUNDS will be given to students withdrawn from classes for which FPA guaranteed them seats.

PAYMENT PLAN REFUND POLICY Families have 72 hours after a Payment Plan is submitted to claim a full refund. Following that time the Payment Plan can be cancelled up until Friday, August 25, 2017, with only the down payment and $100 fee being non-refundable. Families are responsible for all committed monthly payments after Friday, August 25, 2017, regardless of enrollment status.

CURSIVE WRITING Students in classes from Kindergarten through the f irst semester of 2nd Grade are taught manuscript writing (printing). Students from the beginning of the second semester of 2nd Grade through 5th Grade are taught cursive. As students become f luent in cursive beyond 3rd Grade, teachers will regularly assign work that is required to be handwritten in cursive. FPA requires all students from grades 6 through 12 to use cursive writing when submitting handwritten assignments. These assignments will not be accepted if printed or typed and must be legible. Please contact FPA if your student needs help with cursive writing.

DUE DATES We are a school, not merely a homeschool resource or tutorial service. As such we strive to provide structure for our students, not just information. We believe that part of the educational experience is preparing students for real-life responsibilities, including deadlines, due dates, and time management. For these reasons, due dates are strictly enforced. In the rare instances when a deadline or due date must be missed, a parent must provide a note explaining the extenuating circumstance in order to receive an extension. Extended travel throughout the school year is possible for our students, although not encouraged. One due date deadline extension per semester is permitted if the Student Development Director is notif ied at least two weeks in advance about the dates of scheduled travel. All work will need to be submitted within one week of returning from travel. Any other travel or situations that prevent class attendance or submission of school work by the due date assigned by the teacher become the responsibility of the student and parent. No extra due date extensions will be made for any circumstance except for these four valid reasons: technical problems, acts of nature, illness, or family emergencies. For more details, please see fpeusa.org/student-info/student-expectations.

LEARNING & PHYSICAL DISABILITIES Parents of students with diagnosed or suspected learning or physical disabilities—past or present—must notify the Student Development Director before enrolling.  FreedomProject Academy may or may not be the right environment for such students, and there is no way to know for sure unless parents are up front with us from the outset. Failure to disclose the existence and extent of a student’s special needs may result in either transferring the student to audit status or dismissing  the student from FPA.

NON-DENOMINATIONAL SCHOOL FPA is a NON-DENOMINATIONAL Classical school anchored f irmly in Judeo-Christian values. Our courses are Biblical in worldview and promote Biblical understandings of knowledge and Truth. We do not promote the theology of any particular church, temple, or branch of Judeo-Christian thought. We seek to inspire basic Judeo-Christian values in the classroom, allowing parents to teach their particular faith traditions and beliefs at home.

LITERATURE The literature students will read at FPA is selected to expose students to a range of voices as they encounter the great books of Western Civilization. While the content of each book may not be what is preferred, the books will be taught from a Biblical worldview and contribute to a wide variety of perspectives that will give a basis to understand how Western Culture has been shaped.

GRADES All graded material is available in Canvas for students and their parents to access 24/7. When a teacher grades an assignment, quiz, or test, a notif ication is sent to the student’s newsfeed in Canvas. Teachers have the ability to digitally mark up papers and also attach a recorded video or audio comment to graded material, if they so choose. Students use a unique login to access their accounts and submit work.

PROMOTION As with any school, students must attain a basic mastery of subject knowledge before moving on to the next level. Elementary students much achieve 65% or higher in all subjects to be promoted to the next level, although 70% is preferred. Students in grades 6 through 12 in FPA math, science, or foreign language courses must have a f inal grade of 70% or higher to be promoted to the next level. In all other courses, a f inal grade of 65% or higher is required to be promoted to the next grade. Students who fail any high school course must retake it if they wish to receive a diploma from FPA. Both attempts will be included on the transcript and in the GPA.

PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK To clearly understand what is expected of students at FPA, both parents and students should read the Parent/Student Handbook before deciding to enroll. It can be found at fpeusa.org /student-info/student-expectations.

TRANSCRIPTS Teachers provide progress reports to parents or guardians every 4 1/2 weeks throughout the school year. FPA provides report cards at the end of each semester. Transcripts are available upon request for all completed courses and are also posted in the Parent Portal at the conclusion of the school year.

DIPLOMAS The required courses that must be successfully completed to receive a high school diploma from FPA can be viewed at fpeusa.org /credits-for-diploma. Beginning with the freshman class of 2015, only full-time students who earn the required f ive credits for each high school year they are enrolled with FPA will qualify to receive a diploma from FPA. The minimum requirement for a diploma is 10 credits earned with FPA in the Junior and Senior year.

PARTNERING WITH CHURCHES & PRIVATE SCHOOLS

F

or almost two thousand years, churches have been the center of our communities, the very cornerstone of Western civilization.

Just a few short decades ago, Biblical teaching and Christian worldview were the bedrock of every child’s education. Sadly, that is no longer the case in our public schools, where too much government interference and progressive ideology undermine Judeo-Christian values, warp the teaching of American history, and actively work to drive a wedge between children and their parents. A once-a-week church service and an hour of Sunday school are no longer enough to preserve the faith of our kids and prepare them for a life anchored in Christ.

FreedomProject Academy wants to change that, and it’s a simple concept. We partner with churches across the country to provide fully accredited, Biblically based, K-12 online classes that allow every church that sits empty Monday through Friday to start their own school. FreedomProject Academy provides more than 100 live courses from core subjects such as English, math, history, and science to courses in Latin, Spanish, French and economics. Schools can select the classes they want to use, while supplementing their own courses for Bible study, music, art, and anything else they choose. FPA not only offers each of our classes live online, but also records each class, making them available for immediate playback 24/7. In addition, our teachers assign all homework, quizzes, and tests, and are responsible for all grading. Let’s continue to impact as many lives as possible by providing a Christ-centered education for children around the world. Together we can Faithfully Educate America.

But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

-Matthew 19:14

“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

-Proverbs 22:6 After speaking with the staff at

FreedomProject Academy we knew this

would work for Grace Christian Academy and

could be a model for other schools looking to blend the virtual and traditional classrooms.

With budgets the way they are for private

schools and the fact that FPA is built on

Judeo-Christian values, it is just a win-win

relationship in so many different ways.

CURRICULUM FreedomProject Academy is off icially launching our very own arithmetic curriculum this year. Following the implementation of Common Core methods and strategies in the majority of American textbooks, FPA has decided the only way to remain 100% free of Common Core is to develop our own curriculum.

EDUCATIONAL TALKS 5 YEARS | 500 TALKS | 45 STATES FreedomProject Academy and Academic Director, Dr. Duke Pesta, have spent the last f ive years travelling the country, speaking to tens of thousands of moms and dads about educational reform and Common Core. Dr. Pesta is one of the nation’s foremost experts on the federal takeover of public education, testifying before a number of state legislatures. Dr. Pesta’s collective videos and presentations surpass two million views on Facebook and YouTube.

This two-disc DVD provides a retrospective of what we now know to be indisputably true about Common Core, presented from the perspective of those who created and support Common Core.

For better or worse in our media-driven culture, the best ideas only gain a foothold if presented and disseminated in media-savvy ways. Far too often, the winning message of conservatism loses ground because so much of our media is in the hands of progressives. At FreedomProject Academy—our online Classical school—we have already experienced tremendous success offering parents an educational alternative free from public school spin and indoctrination. Recognizing the urgent need to impact culture beyond the world of K-12 education, we proudly unveil FreedomProject Media: a venture that brings education, information, and inspiration to audiences of all ages through original programming, educational media, and current events-oriented content. From award winning DVD series like the The Presidential Minute and 56

Signers, to our extensive resources devoted to f ighting Common Core, to our new current events show Right Makes Might with Dr. Duke, FP Media engages the culture through both traditional media and social media, offering content that is timely, relevant, entertaining, and designed to motivate new generations of conservative thinkers while sustaining and supporting the work of lifelong culture warriors.

OUR CHALLENGE The success of our mission—changing culture and restoring the nation through education—depends on our ability to offer this Classical alternative to as many families as possible. This means upholding quality while keeping tuition and technology costs low. By maintaining eff icient pricing for our classes and services, we can reach families from radically diverse backgrounds. To maintain this winning formula, it is imperative that FPA build a committed and engaged donor base to help supplement and sustain our innovative pedagogy and delivery systems.

YOUR INVOLVEMENT As we pursue this exciting opportunity, we turn to you with three requests:

1

Consider a generous f inancial commitment to this project.

2

Introduce your friends to FreedomProject Academy.

3

Reach out to families who would consider enrolling children in FreedomProject Academy.
