Personal injury medication is making my body worse, what do I do? In severe personal injury claims it is common for the person who has suffered the injury to take medication for several years. In these situations, it can be the case that the medication that the injured person is taking does take its toll on the body of the injured person. These people already have a severe injury, and the fact that the medication, the very thing that they relied on to make things better, is making things worse is often very difficult to deal with. In this article, we have set down some of the things that you can do in this situation.

Speak to your GP In many situations it will be a person’s general practitioner who provides the medication to the injured person. The first step should therefore be to discuss the new signs and symptoms with the general practitioner. The general practitioner may be able to recommend new medication to the

injured person, however, in some circumstances it may be necessary for the general practitioner to refer the injured person to a specialist to consider what changes should be made.

Consider seeing a Pain Specialist Pain specialists commonly deal with injured people who have been experiencing pain for a long period of time. It is therefore often the case that they have a lot of experience prescribing and managing medication. In circumstances where the medication is having an adverse effect on the body of the injured person, they may consider seeing a pain specialist to see whether the pain specialist can recommend new medication, or possibly some other way of controlling the pain such as a neurostimulator.
