The Class of 2020 – We entered this world in the wake of 9/11 and graduated high school during a world pandemic known as COVID-19. Our class has always been independent and is part of the more empathetic generation. We understand that we can’t celebrate or do the things that we have been dreaming about for 12 years. But these prob-

lems have made us the class that we are. Not only this graduating class at Adair County, but the class of 2020 around the world will always be remembered for their resiliency and unity. Written by Dana Greer, member of the Senior Committee for the Adair County Community Voice and representative of the class of 2020

A special thank you goes to our senior committee members who helped select and gather content for this magazine. From left, Emma Pendleton, Travis Tucker, Amber Cowan, David Adams and Dana Greer. Not pictured, Bryson Helm.

Though COVID-19 uprooted their senior year, those who know the class of 2020 know that it doesn’t define them. As you have seen above and will see later in this magazine, they are special for their own reasons. They have their own dreams, relationships, talents and accomplishments. Most importantly, they showed their unity and didn’t choose to quit when their senior year didn’t pan out. Instead, they chose to celebrate one another till the end. Six seniors in specific took the time to help us create this year’s graduation magazine. None of us knew their year would take the turn that it did, but they were the best sports and still wanted to make the magazine great for their classmates. The Adair County High School class of 2020 didn’t get to graduate next to one another, but they stayed together, but apart in every other sense of the phrase.” -3-
