November is Fall Prevention Month Fall Prevention. Keep Your Independence.

The Finding Balance campaign is an initiative designed to increase awareness among older Albertans about falls prevention. The campaign focuses on real life strategies older adults can implement to prevent falls. Visit www.findingbalancealberta.ca to learn ways that older adults can reduce their risk of falling.

Winter is Here! The cold weather and snow are here to stay for the season. Here are a few things to keep in mind: 1)

Beware of Snow Removal – The large snow plows and other snow removal machines will be out clearing the streets.

2) Travel with Care – be sure to leave early, and allow yourself extra time to get to your destination. Adjusting your driving to the road conditions is the best way to avoid an accident. 3) Watch your step – snow and ice can make for a tricky walk. 4) Bundle Up – Dress in layers and wear appropriate winter clothing. Be sure to keep your head, ears and hands covered. 5) Be Safe – Always wear a helmet when taking part in winter activities.

HAVE YOU INSULATED YOUR WATER METER? IF NOT, CALL THE TOWN OFFICE AT 780.622.3896 FOR INFORMATION. Page 2
