New Things – August 31, 2025.Isaiah 42:9; 43:18–19

I. God Declares New Things (Isaiah 42:9)

“The former things have come to pass… new things I now declare.”

Application: Don’t cling to yesterday God is already ahead of us.

II. God’s Servant Brings Justice (Isaiah 42:1–4)

Jesus fulfills the Servant prophecy, bringing justice with gentleness.

Application: He restores the broken instead of discarding them.

III. God Loves You Personally (Isaiah 43:1–4)

“You are precious, honored, and I love you.”

Application: God’s love is personal, immediate, and costly.

IV. God Alone Saves (Isaiah 43:11–13)

He declared, saved, and proclaimed. “I work who can turn it back?”

Application: Surrender to His work – don’t try to “reverse” it

V. Our Problem: Trapped by the Past

We interpret today through yesterday (schemas, confirmation bias).

Application: Don’t hold yourself or others hostage to the old.

VI. God’s Command: Remember Not the Former Things (Isaiah 43:16–21)

“Remember not the former things… Behold, I am doing a new thing.”

Application: Don’t let past failures or victories dictate your future.

VII. New Creation in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17 – New creation!

Ephesians 4:22–24 – Put off the old, put on the new.

Application: Live in God’s declaration, not your ideals or feelings.

VIII. God’s Abundant New Way

Old way: water from a rock. New way: rivers in the desert.

Application: Trust God’s hidden work beneath the surface.

IX. The Personal Word of Love

“I love you” not based on who you were, but who you are becoming.

Application: Release the past; walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3–4).
