PROFESSIONAL PROJECT

LINASTRA, PYLA, GR 36°56’46.6”N 21°43’11.1”E

This project is about a vacation house very close to the sea that includes one apartment on the floor and two independent guest rooms on the ground floor. The building is composed of two cubic forms that are connected through a semi-outdoor space on the ground floor, that creates a way out to the pool and the sea view. Also, the exterior stair and the glass elevator are becoming the most characteristic elements of the facade of the entrance as well as the patio next to the main entrance.

VillaE l i a PROFESSIONAL PROJECT

LINASTRA, PYLA, GR 36°56’46.6”N 21°43’11.1”E

The main concept is focusing on the privacy of the three families. The house is divided in two independent apartments with a shared entrance at the main façade of the house. The first floor is a 68 m2 apartment that includes a master bedroom with a private bathroom and a living room with an open kitchen. The apartment has also access to a large terrace with a unique view to Sfahtiria island and Navarino Gulf. The ground floor is a 145 m2 apartment including two master bedrooms, 1 bedroom, for children, two bathrooms and a living room with an open kitchen. In order to organize the rooms in the ground floor and maintain privacy between the two families that will accommodate the apartment, we designed a squared patio that divide the ground floor in two parts, brings light into the floor, connects the two floors visually and preserves symbolically a beautiful olive tree (in greek “Elia”) that is growing in this land more than 100 years. Elia is becoming the hurt of the building and the main design method of that villa.

ACADEMIC PROJECT INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO 1

Everything that the machine was for the modernist movement, is the network today. With the spread of the network, the public space is diffused, even inside the restricted space of a residence, forcing the shrink of a private space. The network room of 2040 will be an active ground/ terrain, a living surface, from nanomaterial, which will have the ability to transform, due to flexibility. This surface, forms a new ground of information, life and operation which changes/ transitions according to the needs of the resident. In this new live surface of online registration of information and life, the public space, which intrudes the inside of the residence, is reflected. Nevertheless this surface leaves openings in a lower ground, within which the resident can enter as to isolate himself from the public networked space. Thus the residence can disconnect, and enter an offline status at any time.

PROFESSIONAL PROJECT

FARON 39, KALAMATA, GR 37° 2’30.39”Β 22° 6’57.54”Α The main challenge in this project was to include in 27m2 all the essential design elements for a busy accountant office of 4 employees. Four working seats, storages, waiting space, bookcases and a lot of client chairs, all included in a very small workplace. The furnitures are designed for the purpose and the size of the room, simple wooden surfaces with metallic details that can be hidden, moved or stored in order to save space. Also, the light is designed for different types of tasks (reading, working on computer, archiving, etc.) in order to create a more efficient working experience. ACADEMIC RESEARCH

ARACHTHOS’ MOUTH, ARTA REGION, GR

River’s mouth is threatened by catastrophic floods. The agricultural meadow and the six villages along the river are about to face serious flood damages. Meadow’s tendency to turn into the initial swamp situation can’t be prevented. Considering the circumstances, the project’s proposal is focusing on guiding water flow and designing flood areas, in order to decompress water’s urge naturally and prevent flood damages to the settlements along the river. The six successive wetlands that are going to be formed, have been designed properly to be exploited as hydroponic lakes where floated platforms are being installed. Therefore, a new type of cultivation will be introduced to the region and broaden the variety of agricultural products. Each hydroponic lake will be managed by the nearest village as well as the agrotouristic settlements installed in each lake. A logistic center, in the middle lake, will be in charge of all the coastal shipping and road transports of the products to all over the country. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

The fountain used to be an important element - a landmark in the core of Greek residential tissue. The most valuable for the life, the water was accessible to everyone in the public space. With the installation of water networks and conteporary urban development , the provision of free water in the public space abandoned and left for private exploitation. The aim of our proposal is to bring this element into contemporary Greek urban setting water availability to all users of public space. This is an urban object, with traditional lineage and contemporary design, which will cover the need for clean drinking water. A key feature of the design is the ease of use by people with disabilities, but also animals ( problem of finding clean water from stray animals in the city). A key element of the form is the fact that it allows the water flowing down to the level of the user’s hands , creating the impression of a circular reference . Scrolling also is a key feature of a fountain .

Restoration of the yard and part of the Zouhouri building complex in Larnaca Architectural Competition

HONORABLE MENTION LARNAKA, CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

The project is focusing on the regeneration and reactivation of square “Zouxouri in a public place that will address to all the citizens of Larnaca and will preserve and highlight the historical character of city center. Main element of the proposal is a complex of multiple cores as a blend of uses and vegetation that are absent from city center. The plants that are proposed are a characteristic part of daily Cypriot images of nature that can be implemented in the urban environment of Larnaca. The demolition of old market in the north side, turn the square into a close yard and thus, the canopy that is designed and placed, connects the upper and lower part of yard without obstructing the view in the perimeter.
