Let’s support women in business

Women are making great strides in business, sports, education and politics. They’re leading teams, business units and companies. They’re more than half of all undergraduates. But in spite of so many smart, talented women out there:

Women are still underrepresented in the business world. That, with your help, is going to change.

When women were asked why they weren’t pursuing business careers or education, the answers were stark:

I don’t have the right skills for business.

A business career can’t align with my values.

I don’t see women having satisfying careers in business.

No one I know went to business school.

These misperceptions add to the reality that only 34% of MBA students are women. Most women don’t even consider business or finance as a career choice. Or if they do, it’s late in the game and they’re trying to catch up. The challenges continue even for women in an MBA program. They are often less prepared, informed and confident than their male counterparts to take advantage of early opportunities.

Percentage of professional women who wish they’d known about business options in high school or college:

I was a liberal arts major and most of my friends aren’t the business type. I’d been doing well in my job, but knew there was more I could do. It wasn’t obvious to me that an MBA could help get me there.

We excite women about their career options. And prepare them for the journey. At Forté Foundation, we made it our mission to launch women into fulfilling and significant careers, growing the pipeline of future leaders. Through online programming and live events, and in partnership with the world’s most progressive companies and leading business schools, we: Prepare women with skills for success. Connect them with experts and like-minded women. Help finance their education. Inspire them to “go for it.”

The result is women who are more confident in their careers.
