volunteers to help with a wide variety of tasks. We staff races and fun runs that need volunteers to help register attendees, set up water stations, and even greet runners at the finish line with snacks and plenty of cheer! There are tree planting events and environmental clean-ups needing responsible adults to help. We match animal lovers with horse stables and farms needing assistance with trails and special events; athletes with youth coaching opportunities; medical field volunteers with the Red Cross to possibly volunteer at the hospital and surrounding clinics; builders with Habitat for Humanity, and numerous other amazing opportunities through which to grow and enjoy your time giving back to the community.
Volunteering within your community is not only a great way to help connect with new friends while doing something fun and rewarding, it’s also an effective way to network professionally and gain marketable skills to help you when looking for a new job or trying for a promotion. Soldiers can even use these volunteer hours to earn promotion points toward their next rank, by receiving the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM), which is worth up to 15-promotion points.

What a special time of year it is! During the month of November, we spend time saying thank you! We start the month with a special thank you to all of our Veterans for all you have done and continue to do for our great country. A few short weeks later we gather with Family and friends to reflect on all that we have to be grateful for and reflect on the past year.
page 5 bragg.armymwr.com
In addition to giving thanks, the Thanksgiving holiday is synonymous with food! Who does not love the amazing spread you get on the fourth Thursday of November every year? While the turkey may be the center piece, it is the all the sides and desserts that draw everyone in from table to table. Fort Bragg Family and MWR is here to help you with this part of your gathering so you can focus on decorations, drinks, the parade and a football game or Thetwo.
Calling all Single Soldiers! The Annual BOSS Thanksgiving returns this year on Thursday, November 17th at Iron Mike Conference Center. Enjoy games, prizes and of course, a Thanksgiving meal! Soldiers must have a voucher to attend the event. Contact the BOSS Office or your unit representative for more information.
While one of the most amazing parts of Thanksgiving is the food, one of the worst parts is cleaning up the mess! Everyone wants to enjoy the great meal, but no one wants to do the piles and piles of pots, pans and bowls that are left over. Iron Mike Conference Center can make this part of the holiday disappear! Thank you, Iron Mike! Order your holiday meals ready to go so all you have to do is warm them up! Each meal includes a fully cooked ham or turkey, three side items, a dessert and sweet tea. Meals are available for 6-8 people for only $150 and 13-15 people for only $225. Order your meal beginning November 16th by calling 910.907.2582.
Annual Tough Turkey Golf Tournament returns to Stryker on Saturday, November 19th. All participants will receive a free ham or turkey! A small token of our appreciation to you. Enjoy a round of golf with friends and save some money by walking away with your free turkey. Space is limited so reserve your spot early!
From the entire Fort Bragg Family and MWR Family, Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for all you do and for allowing us to be a part of your life!
