CHILD & YOUTH

CYS Welcome Center .............................

Bldg 1-4157 Knox St., next to Wonderful World for Kids

There are ten nationally accredited, state-licensed CDCs on Fort Liberty providing part-day preschool, full-day & hourly care. All the centers service children six weeks to five years of age. Developmental activities are provided to enhance children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

CYS Parent Central Services

Bldg 1-4157 Knox St., next to Wonderful World for Kids

CYS Central Enrollment provides one-stop CYS registration for children four weeks to 18 years of age. The program centrally tracks and monitors space and waiting lists in all CYS delivery systems on the installation.

Resource and Referral provides on and off post child care referral services to assist in the placement of children. Additionally, installation CYS child care waiting lists are maintained when necessary.

Parent Central Services are responsible for providing or arranging for Short-Term Alternative Child Care (STACC), Volunteer Child Care in the Unit Setting (VCCUS) and Referral Services.

The FCC program is designed to meet the needs of parents who prefer child care in a home environment. Each home is inspected and monitored regularly by CDS personnel for safety, sanitation and fire prevention. The FCC program offers full/ part day, hourly, before/after school, extended (evening and weekends) and long term care for children four weeks of age through school-age.

SLS offers programs and services which address school and community transition issues, parent and student advocacy and build partnerships to enhance the educational environment and experiences of children and youth. They also offer youth sponsorship programs, youth volunteer programs, youth leadership initiatives, community partnership initiatives, post secondary opportunities and home school support resources and referrals.

Interactive Customer Evaluation............

ICE is a web-based tool that collects feedback on services provided by various organizations throughout the DoD. It is designed to improve customer service by allowing managers to monitor satisfaction levels through reports and customer comments. ICE allows DoD customers to quickly and easily provide feedback to service provider managers. Customers can make submissions anonymously or can provide contact information.

Invest in Fort Liberty to increase your business through sponsorship and advertising. The Commercial Sponsorship Program offers the opportunity to present your company’s message in a variety of creative ways to the military community. The Commercial Advertising Program offers the opportunity to display your companies’ information through print publications, materials, website, in facilities and more! Unit Funds

Fort Liberty Family & MWR has a program to supplement half of the expenditures paid from Unit Funds when your Unit has an authorized function at a Family & MWR facility. For example, if your catering bill is $3000 only $1,500 will be paid from your Unit Funds and Fort Liberty Family & MWR will cover the rest. Examples of authorized functions are: organizational days, holiday parties and unit formals. This program is only authorized for Fort Liberty Family & MWR NAF unit fund dividends issued at the beginning of each fiscal year, based upon actual unit strength. Call for more information on how your Unit Funds can work for you.

Family & MWR Catering is available at several locations as an excellent setting for your function and is open to the public for private events. Let us assist in the planning and preparation of your event! While our menu has a wide variety of options available, our catering department will be happy to customize your event to meet your needs. Iron Mike Conference Center is open to everyone and specializes in catering and weddings. We can cater to all your needs from small to large groups and have boardrooms with state of the art audio-visual and computerized services. Join us Monday through Friday for our weekly all-you-can-eat buffet from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

Paws on Post Pet Kennel.............................................

Paws on Post provides loving care to your pet(s) while out of town or for a long day of work. We offer boarding and daycare services for dogs and cats of Active Duty, Family members, Retirees, Civilians, and Contractors. The facility features 57 dog kennels (17 large and 40 small/medium kennels), 10 cat condos and a cat tree wall & window hammocks, 3 play yards, and 20+ shaded individuals runs.

Recreation Equipment Checkout Center

The Equipment Checkout offers an array of equipment for your outdoor leisure needs, recreational pastimes, excursions, social events and yard projects. The facility is open year–round to DoD ID cardholders. Some of the items available to rent include:

Smith Lake Recreation Area offers diverse programs, services and adventure packed venues year round on 800+ acres. The park is home to disc golf, mountain biking and hiking trails in addition to picnic areas that offer an ideal setting for unit organizational days and social events from 10 to 1,500+ guests.

CAMPGROUND: Open year-round to DoD ID card holders and guests. Reservations are accepted 90 days in advance.

PARK & PICNIC AREAS: Open yearround to the public. Reservations are accepted for Smith Lake Park, Wilson Park, Woodland Park, and Flightline Park 90 days out. Amenities may include:

Special Events along with the Run Cell plans, develops, coordinates, stages and manages quality entertainment programs and running events to include: carnivals, concerts, half marathons, themed 5Ks, special holiday activities and events. Events and runs are designed to improve the quality of life and enhance the health and fitness within our community. Highlights include the Fort Liberty Fair, 4th of July Celebration, Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, All American Half Marathon & 5K, Neon Night Run, Run Honor Remember 5K, and the Fort Liberty 10 Miler.

Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics

Family & MWR operates a total of five aquatic facilities (pools) on Fort Liberty (two year-round and three seasonal) and offers a large number of aquatic classes and programs throughout the year. Aquatics is always in need of lifeguard staff, please call Tucker Indoor Pool for more information.

Warrior Adventure Quest Program (WAQ)........643-4569

Warrior Adventure Quest is a FREE program for ALL Units, endorsed and approved by the Department of the Army. This program offers high adventure Outdoor Recreation activities to promote and instill team cohesion and to focus on resiliency and combat readiness. All units within 120 days of pre and post deployment are eligible to participate. Non-deploying units can attend one activity every two years. Call to get your unit involved NOW!
