Most propositions win Dulles student wins Congressional Art Contest Fort Bend's May 11 election has winners, and a runoff By Elsa Maxey

In spite of the light voter turnout, “dismally low,” said one resident, the outcome of Saturday’s General and Special Election of May 11th has a host of winners, a runoff in Missouri City, and just about all the propositions on the ballots passed.  Fort Bend ISD Trustee Position 3 has Jim Rice keeping his board seat garnering a little over 70% of the votes in that race. FBISD Trustee Position 7 incumbent Dave Rosenthal of Missouri City also kept his

seat with 56.5% of the votes in a race among four candidates. Community feedback about the FBISD school district is positive these days “with the hiring of a new superintendent” and with the outcome of the elections, “there is a chance that this is the beginning for real change in this school district.” Five candidates running for three positions on the Stafford Municipal School District board of trustees turned out three winners, reelected incumbents Greg Holsapple and Ed Castillo along with newly elected trustee Arturo Jackson for three year

terms. Lamar Consolidated School District winners are newly elected trustees Kathryn E. Kaminiski and Kay Danziger, relected incumbent Frank W. Torres, and newly elected Anna M. Gonzales, Trustees for District 1, 2, 3 and 6, respectively.  Meadows Place’s election win has Kelle K. Mills with almost 59% of the votes ousting incumbent John C. Whiteman in the race for Alderman, Place 5.  Alderman Place No. 4, Terry J. Henley, ran unopposed and kept the seat. ELECTION, continued on page 7

Storm rolls over Fort Bend County By LeaAnne Klentzman

The clouds rolled in, darkness crept over Fort Bend County until bolts of lightning and torrents of rain blasted through with what is hopefully the last cold front of the season. Friday morning as the storm rolled through, the area police, fire, and medical personnel were stretched paper thin. At the height of the storm, about 10:30 am, lightening had struck several structures and two house fires were burning; near Katy on Twin Stone Lane and the other in the Aliana subdivision off Texas 99 near Richmond on Lake Court. Also at that time police were responding to injury accidents on FM 723 near FM 359 just north of Richmond/Rosenberg and on US 59 near Beasley and a lightning strike/car fire on US 59 near Williams Way just outside of Richmond. No deaths were reported as a result of the storms until the wee hours of Saturday morning.

According to authorities, in the early hours of Saturday morning 911 operators at the Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call for help. The man asking for help could not give them a specific address or location just an idea of where he had been traveling. While dispatchers were talking to him,

the line went silent. Reportedly, that call for help ultimately led to the discovery of a submerged vehicle in a slough in the 18000 block of Old Richmond Road that was full of runoff rain water from hours before. The car was in STORM, continued on page 7

Missouri City hires firm to study Texas Parkway corridor By Betsy Dolan

The city of Missouri City will hire a company to study how to revamp the Texas Parkway corridor and turn it into a retail hub. On May 6, the City Council voted to spend $17,500 with The Retail Coach, a Tupelo, Mississippi-based retail recruiter with offices in Austin. The money covers the first phase of the study which will determine where retail dollars are being spent in the area,

compiling statistical data and interviewing residents and business owners. In addition, the company will provide the city with a list of potential retailers that meet the demographic make-up of the area and ideas for how to improve existing properties. Bob Graf, Missouri City's Economic Development Coordinator told the council that the Texas Parkway project is part of the city's larger economic development plan. "We have to identify what

Man stopped for cell violation: auto stolen By LeaAnne Klentzman

Last week, a Sugar Land police officer noticed that a man traveling in a school zone was talking on a cell phone. The officer initiated a traffic stop.  The vehicle operator was ordered out of the car.  Before the officer could take further action, the driver bolted.  A foot pursuit was not successful, so a perimeter was established that encompassed Colony Bend Elementary School; which in turn forced a lock down for student safety.  The search for the fleet footed driver was on. Almost as soon as the driver took off running police learned that the car was

stolen. The original traffic stop was on Wednesday, May 8, at 8:30 am., near the intersection of Austin Parkway and Mesquite in the Settlers Park subdivision.  The ground and air search lasted until about 10:30 that morning before being called off for lack of success.  However, later that day the suspect was found and arrested by an officer in an unmarked car when he saw him walking down an area street. Dante Jamal Price, 17, has been identified as the driver of the vehicle that was talking on the phone in the school zone as well as running from police.  Price MAN, continued on page 7

Crime Stoppers Alert! By LeaAnne Klentzman

Palladium AVX opens Thursday, May 16. Open house will be held Wednesday, May 15. Free and open to the public.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Bend Crime Stoppers have joined this week to urge anyone with information about a recent robbery to come forward and possibly collect $5,000 in tip money. On Wednesday May 8, 2013, Sheriff’s deputies were called to RB Cellular, a phone store located on State Highway 6 S

near the intersection of West Bellfort, just outside the city limits of Sugar Land. When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered a customer bound at the hands and a store clerk suffering from injuries said Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel. As the investigation unfolded deputies were told that two men entered the cell phone store between 5:00 and CRIME, continued on page 7

retail dollars are being spent outside of the city and Missouri City doesn't have the resources to do that," Graf told the council. "They will be able to tell us what can and can't be done." The Retail Coach will conduct a market analysis looking at the economic dynamics in the area, demographics, socio-economic profiles and customer spending patterns. "They can mine data on the people that live in the area and travel through the area," said Edward Broussard, Missouri City's City Manager. "They use license plate technology to discover where people shop, where they eat and where different family units are spending their money." Councilman Robin Elackatt questioned the need for a new study when the city has a 2009 study conducted by George Johnson Development that also identified ways to improve the Texas Parkway corridor. According to city news releases from 2009, the Johnson master plan called for "enhancements to existing businesses and the creation of new businesses with HIRES, continued on page 7

The ABCs of elections..... Saturday’s school board election in Lamar CISD (Richmond and Rosenberg’s school district) which promised to be hotly contested turned out to be downright trashy. Let me tell you how. A brother/sister duo, Rodney Vannerson and sis Karen Vannerson Pearson Vannerson got involved with recruiting candidates and raising money to help candidates. Rodney owns a bail bond agency

like his father before him and Karen is a political consultant. Ostensibly Rodney, who lives in Lamar CISD, got involved because he claimed that the district illegally destroyed some emails he asked for (to what end I still don’t know). Karen got involved in my opinion to make money since her patio home in Sugar Creek is being foreclosed on due to non payment of FBISD taxes. I just looked up the court case and the tax bill hasn't been paid. Of course I would like to know how her good friend and sometimes lawyer Mike Elliott got court appointed to her case. Can't she take any other writ twit like the rest of us? Actually, their opponents claimed they (the Vannersons)

got involved because they and others wanted to rezone their subdivisions. You see, many of the new subdivisions want to be zoned into either George Ranch High School or Foster High School. Due to some anomaly which I don’t have room to go into in this space, older high school Lamar is zoned right in the middle of a whole bunch of new subdivisions, which would explain why Perry Homes donated $30,000 to Rodney’s “Whistle PAC.” (Look right here to see the way the district has inserted Lamar High School right in the middle of things:www.lcisd.org/ en/Schools/DistrictMap.aspx) For those new readers, PAC stands for “political action committee” and is formed and operates under a whole bunch of rules and laws. A little background here: Rodney and Karen grew up right next door to Sugar Creek Country Club. Their father, now deceased, was a long-time bail bondsman in Houston and evidently made quite a lot of money

See us online www.FortBendStar.com

doing it. However, maybe it wasn’t enough as his wife started canoodling with a retired well-known astronaut back when things like that mattered in Houston. He was one of the original ones. The astronaut and Vannerson got into a car bumping fight in their expensive cars on the Southwest Freeway which made the leading gossip column at the time “Maxine Messinger.” When Mrs. Vannerson left Mr. Vannerson for the astronaut, Karen sued him for alienation of her mother’s affection. I promise I am not making this up. So Karen and Rodney have the mark who has paid them or will pay their PAC, but now they need candidates. Word has it that they ran up and down the streets of Richmond and Rosenberg looking for candidates, any candidates.  Caught and thrown in jail......Now here’s where it gets downright trashy. During the campaign, signs belonging to the political opponents of the Vannersons kept disappearing. In one incident, Richmond Police caught Rodney and a current school board member, Dar Hakimzedeh, lurking around signs at 10:30 at night. When questioned, they said they were “checking” on signs. But a night shortly after that Richmond Police caught Rodney with one sign in his hand and his other hand pulling up another sign. Again, Dar was lurking in the background but smartly

didn’t have his hands on a sign. They arrested Rodney and took him to jail. I can only guess that he was bonded out by his own bail bond company. Several years ago, Rodney came before the Fort Bend Bail Bond Board and wanted to name his new bonding company “Naked Lady Bail Bonding.” Needless to say, he was refused. I tell you this story to illustrate Rodney’s general mind set. He says he named his PAC the “Whistle PAC” to blow the whistle on Lamar CISD. It seems to me that Rodney needs to blow the whistle on himself. And Bob Perry is dead. Who in his organization is trying to keep his tradition of buying elections alive?  It’s a sad shame because at least Bob had higher aspirations. He financed a governor (Rick Perry, for years) and scuttled a president (John Kerry was “swift boated” by Perry’s money and we got Bush again who continued with his profligate spending ways and getting us into wars all

over the Middle East.) So, my how the mighty has fallen. Can’t even get a majority on the school board elected. I don’t know why Katheryn Kaminiski took their money. (She’s the only one of the Vannerson’s candidates who won.) She has operated a leading day care center in Rosenberg for over 30 years and knows just about every parent in Lamar CISD and half the kids who are voting age now call her “MeMa.” She didn’t need their money and actually by taking it, gave them an air of legitimacy. Over the years, I’ve often wondered why candidates hired Karen Vannerson Pearson Vannerson. Now I guess I know. They hire her to keep her brother from stealing their signs. B.K. THE STAR

The Conservative Voice By Barbara J. Carlson

A Mother’s Heart Is Broken So far 12 emails have surfaced, corroborating what we already felt deep in our bones—that America was experiencing its worst cover-up. As we celebrated a joyous Mother’s Day weekend, four families are still grieving beyond our worst imagination.

Our mothers told us as young mothers, “Nothing is worse than burying your child.” It’s out of sorts and the timeline is just wrong. I further add: Compound the agony of burying a child with thousands of unanswered questions and the child who is never recovered. The unanswered questions are

daunting, forever haunting, never bringing closure to a family that has been robbed of the utter joy of having children. Has this administration stooped to such lows that they could stand in front of the camera and tell the world a boldfaced lie? Has this administration succumbed to such lows that they can actually lay their head down at night and not feel remorse for the loss of four innocent lives begging to be saved? Meanwhile, Boehner is still unwilling to lead as Speaker of the House in appointing a Select Committee to get to the bottom of Benghazi—an arrant embarrassment of our leadership. Where is the compassion to

bring peace to these mothers and fathers? When will Congress vote in a much-needed new Speaker of the House? Will impeachment proceedings finally begin? It is time to scrutinize our party’s representation. My heart again broke into a million little pieces, like many of yours this weekend, for these mothers who were supposed to be celebrating. As we looked into Susan Rice’s eyes, as we witnessed

Carney fumbling with his words, Obama’s demeanor and Hillary’s delay in testifying, we knew that we were being played. We need leadership— irrespective of the physical and career threats that will be hurled—no matter what side of the aisle. If threats are made, expose the louses. This is what truly marks the superiority of a Conservative leader: One who thoroughly embraces our Constitution,

one who is unwavering with dignity, grace, courage and commitment to do what is right. The Democrats deserve the female vote? Let’s take this fight national. They don’t deserve a single one of us mothers! God bless these mothers who suffered so deeply this last weekend and that we fight to the bitter end for their sons. For comments, contact Barbara J. What to Do About This Skin Rash

Eczema is the medical term used to describe an itchy, inflamed, non contagious skin rash. The most severe form is called atopic dermatitis. This skin rash is commonly diagnosed in young children and can some times be a life-long condition. It usually affects the insides of a person’s elbows, back of knees, and the face. A less severe form is contact derma titis. This results when the skin comes directly in contact with substances that may irritate the skin such as household chemicals, soaps, fragrances, and tobacco smoke or if a person has an animal, plant, or food allergy. Treatment involves avoiding things that may irritate the skin, mois turizing dry areas, and medications that decrease the itching. Steroids such as hydrocortisone and betamethasone (Beta-Val) can be applied directly to the skin to control the itching. Some steroids are available over-the-counter while certain others require a prescription. Antihista mines like diphenhydramine (Benadryl) block chemicals that trigger itching and can be taken orally or applied to the skin. Tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are prescription products used to suppress the immune system that causes flare ups. They are sometimes used when other medications have not worked for atopic dermatitis.

Southland Conference Baseball and Methodist Center for Sports Medicine in Sugar Land team up! Four Methodist Sugar Land Hospital physicians have been selected to serve as medical directors for the upcoming Southland Conference baseball tournament, scheduled for May 22-25 at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. Drs. Mark Maffet, Timothy Sitter, Kenneth Renney and David Braunreiter of the Methodist Center for Sports Medicine Sugar Land and Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas will be on hand throughout the tournament, overseeing medical care to players from the eight Southland Conference schools that qualify for the four-day event. Dr. Maffet and Dr. Sitter will also provide interviews during the tournament’s championship game, which will be broadcast on ESPN3.

“The Methodist Center for Sports Medicine Sugar Land provides care and treatment to a number of local high school, college and professional sports teams, and we are looking forward to serving the Southland Conference and its member schools throughout the tournament,” said Dr. Maffet. The four selected physicians are fellowship trained in the diagnosis and advanced treatment of sports medicine injuries. and we are excited about being a part of the event.” Tickets for the Southland Conference tournament are available for purchase in person at the Constellation Field box office, by phone at 281-2404487, ext. 300, or online at www.sugarlandskeeters.com.

Fort Bend Regional Council of Substance Abuse to host "Born to be Wild" bowling tournament On May 18, Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. will hold its 9th Annual Fort Bend Corporate Challenge “Born to be Wild” Bowling Tournament. Once again Union Pacific Railroad Company has stepped up to be the lead sponsor and invites local businesses, organizations and individuals to bring a team and enjoy the fun while supporting

this worthy organization. Funds raised from this event will support the Summer Explosion, Youth Leadership Camp, October’s Red Ribbon Week activities, and many other programs provided by Fort Bend Regional Council. Since 1976, Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. has challenged the idea that substance abuse

is just another part of modern society in Fort Bend County. Substance abuse disorders are indiscriminate in whom they affect and are the cause of so many problems in our community. With that in mind, Fort Bend Regional Council comprehensively addresses substance abuse through youth prevention and

leadership programs, treatment for individuals and families struggling with addiction, and outreach programs to help families and communities stay safe and drug free. For more information on how to become a sponsor for this event please contact Mandi Bronsell at 281-207-2409 or mbronsell@fortbendcouncil.org. OUR SERVICES:

Fort Bend’s May 11 election has winners, and a runoff ELECTION, continued from page 1

In Missouri City, there will be a runoff between Yolanda Ford and incumbent Bobby Marshall for the District A Council position. Councilmember Don Smith, the incumbent won his seat for District B. Councilmembers Robin Elackatt and Floyd Emery ran unopposed and will continue to represent Districts C and D, respectively.  All 15 city charter propositions passed. The City of Arcola will soon seat Greg Abarr, Thomas Hilton, and Rosie T. Rojas on the city council.  All three won their member at large races among a total of eight candidates.  Arcola also passed a proposition for the use of sales tax proceeds for infrastructure relating to water supply facilities. In the county seat of Richmond, the two propositions on the ballot passed relating to the home rule city charter. The City of Rosenberg’s ballot had 11 propositions with two of them failing.  One of them was for the deletion of a city charter section that would abolish the Department of Health and Sanitation. Mayor Vincent Morales, Jr. ran unopposed

and will continue to serve in that role. Council At Large Position 1 incumbent William Benton won his seat; incumbent Cynthia McConathy won the At Large Position 2; Jimmie Pena ousted Juan Salazar for Council District 1; District 2 will have a new councilmember, Susan Kroll Euton, who will replace Joe G. Segura; and a runoff will take place for the District 4 seat between George Arroyos and Amanda J. Bolf. Dwayne Grigar ran unopposed and will keep his District 3 council seat. Two Emergency Services Districts (ESD), 4 and 6, each placed a proposition on the ballot and one of them failed.  ESD 6 was not authorized for creation along with a levy for taxing purposes.  Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District 2’s proposition passed for an operation and maintenance tax. Propositions were also on voting ballots impacting Kendleton, Needville, the Village of Fairchilds, the Village of Pleak, Beasley, East Bernard, Orchard, Thompsons, and other areas.  For a review of the Fort Bend Elections Administration Cumulative Report of the May 11th election, visit fortbendstar.com

the goal of creating an attractive gateway entrance into the city". Broussard said that the Johnson study pertained to overall design development standards for the area including housing and mobility rather than just retail recruitment. Councilman Don Smith, who was on the council when the Johnson study was done, said that one problem revealed in the Johnson study was the reluctance of some owners to

refurbish their properties. "This will be different than the Johnson plan because we're hiring a retail coach who will bring all of the entities together to see what can be done. The city will put something into it and the owners will have to fix up their properties," Smith said. The Retail Coach will take 60 days to gather their first round of data. The City will then decide whether to proceed on their own or whether to continue working with The Retail Coach on a second phase of development.

Palladium AVX set to open Thursday PALLADIUM, continued from page 1

“It will be the grandest theatre ever in our 101-year history, with every detail selected to deliver the greatest experience possible for all of our guests,” Prichard said. “The Palladium will be the premiere entertainment destination for Houston and Fort Bend County and will be one of the finest facilities in the country.” With 22 movie screens, Palladium is the largest multiplex in the Santikos chain. Each auditorium has stadium seating and Santikos’ own AVX projection, which features oversized, wall-to-wall and floorto-ceiling screens, state-of-the-art sound systems and the latest in projection technology. Six of the auditoriums,

designated AVX MAX, will feature the newly released Dolby Atmos sound system and enormous 80-foot screens – giving the Palladium more giant screens than any other theatre in Texas. Additionally, two of the auditoriums will feature double rows of D-BOX motion seats that move in perfect synchronization with on-screen action, creating an unmatched “live” experience. “Seeing a movie here will be a unique experience that other theatres cannot match,” Prichard said. “ Tickets to the AVX MAX screens do not cost any more than our other auditoriums. We do not charge a premium ticket price for our AVX MAX screens.” The complex will have multiple beverage and dining options, a bowling center with

16 full lanes, an arcade room, a specialty M&M candy store and a movie-themed retail store with T-shirts, film cells and other memorabilia. Santikos currently has seven multiplex theatres in San Antonio. The new Palladium theater complex is the second to open in the Houston area. There is a Silverado IMAX in Tomball. Palladium AVX welcomes community to open house Santikos will be hosting a open house the night before the grand opening of the Palladium AVX to allow the local community to get a first look at the luxury entertainment destination. Riverstone to host American Society of Interior Designers Tour May 11-27 A select group of Houston’s top interior designers are combining their creative might to design a home that will both enchant and inspire during this year’s American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Show Home Tour, May 11-27 in Riverstone. The 6,682-square-foot Vista Fontana, an Italian villa at 22 Ivy Bend, will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The home also will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Memorial Day, May 27. Admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. The home’s architecture reflects a Tuscan influence and its name — which means “fountain view” — references the lake scenes visible from nearly every room.

More than a dozen designers from the ASID Texas Gulf Coast Chapter are showcasing their talents throughout the home. Among the award-winning professional designers working on the home are Kelly Gale Amen, Sharon Staley, Donna Vining and Diana Walker, all known for their innovative design and creative styling. Proceeds from the event benefit the ASID Foundation, an organization that supports interior design research, education and scholarships. For more information on ASID and to purchase tickets, visit www.asidtgcc.org. Travis High School offers free public performance of one-act play before State Competition Travis High School’s (THS) theatre department will perform its UIL one-act play, Unexpected Tenderness, for the community on Friday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the THS auditorium (11111 Harlem Rd., Richmond, 77406). The performance is free to the public, but donations to the theatre department will be accepted. The play has advanced at each level of competition, and the cast and crew will compete at the State contest on May 22 at the Bass Concert Hall in Austin.  Under the direction of Tommy Grubbs and assistant Tiffanie Thomas, the play centers around a dysfunctional

Unexpected Tenderness is also a biographical memory play about a son who discusses his decision to end the cycle of abuse. The play, written by Israel Horovitz, is rated PG-13 for its adult themes and situations. THS will compete against seven other 5A high school theatre groups for the title. Cast members include Jon Rivenburg, Shea Peterson, Carissa Cardy, Taylor Winks, Andrea Rodriguez, Duane Garcia-Facey and Ryan

Siller. Crew members include Jose Sabillon, Claire Brady, Jules Iradukunda, Kyrah Schoenberger and Andrea Martinez. Reagan Moore, Tiffany Abreu, Rachel McCall, and Micheal Raby are alternates. festive celebration with hats, gloves and the best of support for the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center that has its capital campaign well underway. This was the 10th Annual Fort Bend Spring Brunch chaired by Debbie Fash, Jan Leaman, Rachel Leaman, and Charlene Pate. Henry Yau, who does PR for the Children’s Museum of Houston, reports that the event was a resounding success having raised more than $15,000 for the Museum’s Outreach Programs in Fort Bend County. It was a moment to focus on the efforts to make the Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center a reality for the Summer of 2015. At the brunch, the Children’s Museum of Houston launched an impressive tile wall campaign to support the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center. Organizers detailed opportunities to purchase and paint personalized tiles that will take an honored place at the Discovery Center and there will also be a Grandparent’s Wall of Fame. In the end, the entire effort is about enriching the lives of the children in this area by expanding cultural and family oriented educational opportunities that instill life long lasting experiences about learning. For more information, contact Melissa Garlington, Director of Development, 713-535,7218 and support the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center. Here’s a glimpse of that great event social at the Likhari’s home.

Sugar Land Junior Superstar Finale rescheduled for May 19 Sugar Land Town Square presents the 3rd Annual Sugar Land Junior Superstar finale on Sunday, May 19 from 7 – 9:30 p.m. in the Plaza. Due to inclement weather, event organizers were forced to reschedule the popular event, originally slated for April 27. Auditions were held in

March and the judges selected finalists, ages 9 to 13, to perform during the live finale. Due to the popularity of Sugar Land Superstar, Town Square’s American Idollike singing competition held each summer, Junior Superstar was created to provide a venue for the community’s younger vocal

talent. Last year, celebrity judges named eleven-yearold Selena Packard the 2012 Sugar Land Junior Superstar. Come out and see who will be named the 2013 Sugar Land Junior Superstar! This event is free and open to the public. For more information on the competition, visit SugarLandTownSquare.com.

Fort Bend County to honor veterans and new enlistees Dr. Mark Yezak, D.C., Founder, Chief of Staff

Trust Houston Spine & Rehab Center for your Total Back, Neck, Spine & Muscular Pain Solutions

Plans are underway for Fort Bend County citizens, county and city officials and civic organizations to come together in a countywide event to honor those who have given their lives for our country, our veterans as well as those who will be entering the Armed Forces in 2013. The event, “ Legacy of Freedom-Saluting Our Heroes”, will be held in

conjunction with the Skeeters home game on Tuesday, May 28 at Constellation Field in Sugar Land with pre-game ceremonies beginning at 5:45 pm. Officials from the city, county and state will be presenting proclamations to honor the men and women of our Armed Forces. As part of the event, the 72nd BSTB National Guard Unit and other

first responders will be on hand to show off their latest equipment and technology. Make plans to join us. For ticket information and those wishing to sponsor a ticket for a veteran and/or new enlistee, please contact the Skeeters Box Office at (281) 240-HITS or www. sugarlandskeeters.com. The ticket price will be $8 Field Box seats (regular price $12).

Kyle Dawson, Skeeters Sr. Director Community Development, Evelyn Traylor, Event Coordinator and SFC Celso Pacheco (Center) join the 72nd BSTB National Guard Unit to discuss plans for the May 28 Legacy of Freedom-Saluting Our Heroes event.
