Fort Bend ISD art students advance to Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ School Art Contest Fort Bend ISD students produced western-themed art pieces to showcase in Fort Bend ISD’s annual art show. Judges from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ School Art Committee selected 11 students to advance to the rodeo’s school art competition, where their art will be further judged and exhibited at the Reliant Center. The following students will advance to the next round: • Michelle Huang – Best of Show, Art Teacher Amanda Freeman, Dulles High School • Vanessa Ju – Best of Show, Art Teacher Hajra Syed, First Colony Middle School • Chaise Brooks – Best of Show; Art Teacher Rosalind Riggs, Glover Elementary • Hea Jin Cha – Gold

High school runners-up in the district-level show include: Clements students Suzanne Ctvrtlik, Trisha Gupte, Sarah Kesaria, Bryant Ju and Anton Zhou, all under the direction of Art Teacher Donna Reedy. Elkins student Esther Amaka was also a finalist and is under the direction of Lewis Bennett. Middle school finalists from First Colony include Sara O’Brian, Esther Guo, Jennifer Do and Christina Zhang, under the direction of Art Teacher Hajra Syed. Fort Settlement student Sarah Fung and Hodges Bend student Aleiyah Vinyard were also recognized. Their art teachers are Donna Pierce and Mary Kamperman, respectively. Seven elementary school students were also recognized

as runners up for their artwork. Austin Parkway’s Art Teacher Laurie Landin had three students place, including Isabella Briceno, Urvi Basu, and Malia Fisher.
