The Press PackExpo once again proves a great success! …. The USA has long been our largest market, and the PackExpo was the ideal forum for introducing new concepts, new applications and meeting customers old and new. For the first time we had an active demonstration of cap application, in conjunction with the Fords capping press. The Fords’ Foldback Closure once again demonstrated the added functionality that can be achieved in a foil closure. The flexibility of the induction sealing technology was in evidence on PP, PET and glass containers, all of which could be handled on the same system with minimal changes. Sales Manager Stuart Holman commented “the show provided a great opportunity to investigate new opportunities and we look forward to “raising the industry standard” once again in the coming months”. Fords will exhibit at Interpack in 2011, and look forward to a return to Chicago in 2012.

AMBEV recognised the need to innovate and upgrade their old existing lines recently. Bill Castro, Director of Engineering for AMBEV, relays the story, “We have been working with FORDS for many years and we recognised that we needed to reduce our costs and drive up production volumes. At the time we couldn’t justify a new line, even though we would have liked one, and so discussed with FORDS what we could do to improve our existing machines. The Servo upgrade was implemented by FORDS and has seen our output increase by 15%. The payback was a few months. I’m now looking at completing the same upgrade across the board. FORDS project-managed the whole upgrade very professionally. I‘m very pleased with the results” Joe Cusano, FORDS’ Customer Services Director, commented, “I’m thrilled for Bill and the AMBEV team and look forward to helping them on further projects. We encourage all of our customers to discuss with us any efficiency savings. We pride ourselves in being able to support our customers to help them save money.”
