Here we are—ten years in, and somehow still just getting started. This anniversary issue isn’t merely a milestone; it’s a mirror and a map. A mirror, because when we look back at what sparked Incredible Goa in 2015, we remember why we began: to represent Goa with honesty, depth, and heart—not postcard fantasies, but lives as they are lived here. A map, because the next decade demands that same clarity, scaled with courage.
The opening pages of our cover story trace where that spark came from and what it r e f u s e d t o b e c o m e n o glamour for glamour’s sake, no sensationalism, no borrowed narratives Just Goa, in its truest, most beautiful form
T h a t e d i t o r i a l stubbornness feature real Goans; spotlight substance over visibility; make every article useful became our discipline and our difference. Slowly, a publication turned into a record of changing times and a celebration of the people shaping them.
Awards became our turning point—not a red carpet for the usual suspects, but a stage for those who keep the state moving: teachers, social workers, entrepreneurs, artists, small business owners, environmental champions, and quiet achievers. By 2025, that night at Taj Cidade de Goa Heritage felt less like an event and more like Goa applauding itself.
A d e c a d e b r i n g s t r i a l s c o m p e t i t i o n ,
pandemic, shifting media habits, revenue tides—but we kept publishing, adapting without losing authenticity, holding print and digital steady The road ahead is already charted: richer multimedia; statewide and national collaborations; new verticals and themed issues; a larger, more inclusive awards platform; deeper, researchdriven reporting; and bridges to Goans around the world.

You’ll also see how the brand grew with its audience. From heritage homes to new-age ambition, we held a space where Mapusa and Margao could meet, where old Goa and next-gen Goa could talk to each other. Print evolved into a multi-platform house read across India and the Goan diaspora, without loosening our grip on rigor. And yes, the Incredible Goa
If there’s a single promise running through this issue, it’s this: we will continue to ask better questions, listen longer, and celebrate what’s best about Goa without looking away from what needs fixing. Ten years is not a number; it’s a responsibility. Thank you for believing in a magazine that chose truth over trend and people over polish. The next chapter begins now.

In Goa, stories have always travelled faster than the tides. They are carried in whispers across heritage homes, celebrated in bustling markets,

This10th Anniversary Editionisnot justa milestone. Itisalegacy. Areflection. Ahomecomin. Anew beginning.
Sometimes they arrive dramatically, like the applause of an awards night that lights up the Goan sky. But sometimes, these moments unfold in silence on a day when you open an old issue, turn its pages, and realise that what you built has become far bigger t h a n w h a t y o u f i r s t imagined. For Incredible Goa, that moment is now.Today, a decade later, that dream stands transformed into Goa's most sought-after society and lifestyle magazine a voice of the state, a document of its changing times, and a celebration of its people. This is the story of how Incredible Goa became, in every sense, incredible.

Every meaningful journey begins with an intention — a spark that refuses to die out. For Incredible Goa, that spark appeared long before the first issue was printed.
Goa in 2015 was evolving fast. The state carried a complex mix of tradition and transition. Tourism was booming, hospitality was flourishing, young entrepreneurs were emerging, and Goan society was experiencing a cultural shift. But while Goa had no shortage of magazines, newspaper supplements, and entertainment publications, something critical was missing.
Goa needed a publication that represented its true voice not the postcard fantasy imagined by outsiders, but the real, lived Goa experienced by its residents.
Goa needed storytelling that wasn't superficial. Goa needed authenticity.
Goa needed balance a platform where culture, people, business, tourism, innovation, and society could coexist with dignity.
This gap became the foundation for Incredible G
Create a magazine that Goa could be proud of — a publication that told the real stories of real people, without exaggeration and without compromise.
No glamour for the sake of glamour. No sensationalism.
No borrowed narratives. Just Goa in its truest, rawest, most beautiful form. And thus began an extraordinary decade.
Launching a magazine is easy. Sustaining it for
ten years in a saturated, competitive industry is not.
In the first few years, Incredible Goa had to establish trust, build readership, and carve its own identity. What set the magazine apart was its editorial philosophy:
Ÿ Feature real Goans, not just headline names.
Ÿ Cover stories that highlight substance, not just visibility.
Ÿ Bring spotlight to entrepreneurs, innovators, small businesses, and changemakers who rarely get media attention.
Ÿ M a k e e v e r y a r t
c l e v a l u a
e — something readers learn from, relate to, and remember.
Slowly, readers began to see the difference.
The magazine didn't just publish stories; it curated narratives. It didn't just highlight success; it explored journeys. It didn't just

showcase Goa; it preserved its soul. Incredible Goa became the publication where heritage met modernity. Where old-world Goa met new-age ambition Where stories from Mapusa to Margao found a home The foundation was laid. But the journey had only begun.
What started as a niche magazine soon grew into a respected brand. With each issue, Incredible Goa expanded its coverage, increased its editorial depth, and refined its visual identity all while maintaining the core
initiatives, and boutique enterprises. Many businesses today proudly say, “Our first major feature was in Incredible Goa.”
3. Inclusion of Wider Sectors
The editorial span widened from hospitality to education, sustainability to design, startups to real estate, youth entrepreneurship to women leadership. This made the magazine relevant not only to readers but to industry stakeholders across the state.
4. The Voice of Goa's Tourism Story
Incredible Goa steadily became a respected voice supporting Goa's tourism ecosystem — presenting stories with accuracy, balance, and insight. While global publications focused on
across India, the Middle East, Europe, and among Goan diaspora globally.
The brand grew from a print publication into a multi-platform media house — strong, relevant, and future-ready.
TURNING POINT: THE BIRTH O F T H E I N C R E D I B L E G OA
Every publication dreams of leaving a mark. Few create something that becomes an institution The Incredible Goa Awards, launched years into the journey, became that institution.

values it started with.
1. The People We Featured Over the decade, the magazine documented the lives of hundreds of Goans. Their victories, their challenges, their ideas, their failures, their resilience all found a place in our pages. These profiles became more than stories; they became historical references of Goa's evolving social fabric.
2. The Entrepreneurs and Businesses
Goa's business landscape saw a revolution over the last decade. The magazine was one of the first platforms to highlight emerging Goan brands, cafés, wellness centres, creative studios, FMCG ventures, tech startups, green
the beaches, Incredible Goa focused on the people, ideas, and industries that keep tourism alive This change in perspective earned respect.
As the world shifted from print to digital, Incredible Goa adapted gracefully The website, digital magazine versions, newsletters, and social platforms took Goa's stories far beyond state borders. Today, the magazine is read not just in Goa but
The concept was simple: Recognise real Goans doing extraordinary work. Not just celebrities. Not just influencers. Not just business giants.
But teachers, social workers, entrepreneurs, artists, food innovators, small business owners, environmental champions, youth achievers, and silent contributors whose efforts often go unnoticed.
The awards grew rapidly in scale, credibility, and prestige.

Why the Awards Became Iconic:
Ÿ They were inclusive, not exclusive.
Ÿ They were merit-based, not influenced.
Ÿ They honoured impact, not popularity.
Ÿ T h e y c r e a t e d a p l a t f o r m w h e r e achievements were celebrated with dignity.
Hundreds of Goans have been felicitated over six editions.
Each category became a symbol — Women Achievers, Young Achievers, Business Excellence, Culture & Heritage, Tech, Food & Hospitality, Real Estate, Community Service, and more.
The 6th Edition: A Milestone of Grandeur
In 2025, the awards reached their pinnacle at the iconic Taj Cidade de Goa Heritage — a night that set a new benchmark for elegance, production, and emotional energy.
It wasn't just an event; it was an experience. A moment for Goa to pause, acknowledge its own people, and celebrate its excellence.
The awards have now become a permanent part of Goa's annual calendar — anticipated, respected, and cherished. They added not just credibility to the magazine but heart to the brand.
A Decade of Content that Shaped Perspectives
Every magazine issue is a time capsule Every story is a record of the state's evolution. Over ten years, these are the themes that defined Incredible Goa's editorial leadership:
✔ Goa's Cultural Evolution
From documenting village traditions to exploring modern cultural experiments, the magazine preserved Goa's intangible heritage while embracing contemporary narratives.
✔ Startup & Innovation Boom
Long before Goa was considered a startup hub, the magazine highlighted its tech entrepreneurs, founders, incubators, and creative disruptors.
✔ Women Leadership in Goa
Some of the most powerful cover stories were dedicated to Goan women — leaders, artists, executives, and founders who reshaped the state's progress.
✔ Hospitality and Tourism Excellence
The magazine became a trusted source for Goa's rapidly growing F&B and hospitality sector Restaurants, chefs, resort GMs, boutique stays, and industry leaders found a consistent platform.
✔ S u s t a i n a b i l i t y a n d G r e e n G o a Movement
With issues increasingly focused on environmental concerns, the publication
helped amplify discussions around ecoconscious living, clean tourism, waste management, and climate awareness.
✔ Young Goa Rising
F r o m s t u d e n t a c h i e v e r s t o y o u n g entrepreneurs, the magazine documented the ambitions of a new generation that sees Goa not just as home, but as a canvas of opportunity.
These themes, combined with the magazine's timeless style, created a body of work that is now part of Goa's collective memory.
A magazine is only as strong as its readers. Over the years, school and college students, professionals, business families, expats, entrepreneurs, and homegrown readers have embraced Incredible Goa as their own.
Many grew up reading it. Many found their role models in its pages. Many were inspired to start businesses after seeing others featured. Many kept old issues safe — as memories, as archives, as pride.
The readers became the backbone of the magazine — supporting its vision, shaping its content, and turning it into the Goan publication with the strongest emotional connect.
No decade is complete without trials. From industry competition to pandemic disruptions, changing media consumption to revenue fluctuations, Incredible Goa faced every challenge with resilience. What kept it going?
The belief that the magazine had a responsibility — to its readers, to its community, and to the Goa it represented. Even when the world slowed down, the magazine didn't stop telling stories When trends changed, the magazine adapted
When digital waves hit hard, the brand stood strong on both print and digital fronts. This resilience is what brought the magazine to its 10th anniversary today.
Standing at this milestone, one truth becomes clear: Incredible Goa is not just completing a decade — it is beginning a new chapter. The next ten years will be defined by growth, expansion, and deeper engagement.
The Vision for the Future
Ÿ Stronger digital presence with richer
multimedia storytelling
Ÿ Statewide and national collaborations across tourism, business, and culture
Ÿ New publications, verticals, and themed issues
Ÿ Expansion of the Incredible Goa Awards into bigger formats
Ÿ More platforms for youth, women, entrepreneurs, and changemakers
Ÿ Goa-focused investigative and researchdriven stories
Ÿ International partnerships with Goan diaspora communities
The mission remains unchanged, but the scale is ready to evolve.
Goa is growing. Its people are rising.
And Incredible Goa will document every step of that journey — with the same honesty and heart it began with.
Ten years is not a number. It is a journey. A memory. A responsibility.
Incredible Goa did not become Goa's premier society magazine by chasing trends
It became one by staying rooted in truth, celebrating real people, uplifting unheard voices, and building a publication that Goa can claim with pride.
This 10th Anniversary Edition is dedicated to:
Ÿ The storytellers who contributed
Ÿ The entrepreneurs who trusted us
Ÿ The achievers who inspired us
Ÿ The partners who supported us
Ÿ The readers who believed in us
Ÿ And the state that gave us everything
A decade has passed. A legacy has begun. And the story of Incredible Goa continues — stronger, deeper, and more incredible than ever.

By Gauri Ghadge

In November each year, Panjim’s familiar streets transform: pavements turn into red carpets, riverfront promenades glow with light installations and conversations in dozens of languages spill out of cafés and festival shuttles. The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is back – and in 2025, its 56th edition is being pitched not just as another calendar event, but as a statement of how far Goa and Indian cinema have travelled together. From a travelling festival launched in Mumbai
in 1952 to a globally recognised, FIAPFaccredited competitive festival anchored in Goa, IFFI’s journey mirrors India’s own cultural confidence. The 56th edition, scheduled from 20–28 November 2025, builds on this legacy with an ambitious line-up of films, ideas and industry platforms designed to make Goa the place where the global film conversation happens this winter.
FROM MUMBAI TO MIRAMAR: HOW GOA BECAME IFFI’S PERMANENT
IFFI began in 1952 in Mumbai as an effort by a newly independent India to bring the world’s best cinema to Indian audiences and to showcase Indian films abroad. The first edition screened around 40 features and 100 short films before travelling to Madras, Delhi and Calcutta, establishing India on the global festival circuit. Over the decades, it alternated between competitive and non-competitive formats, ran alongside the Filmotsav festival,

and was hosted in several Indian cities before the two events were merged.
The decisive turning point came in 2004, when IFFI found a permanent home in Goa A combination of policy decisions in Delhi and political will in Panjim led to the creation of a purpose-built festival infrastructure and a long-term partnership between the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the G o v e r n m e n t o f G o a t h r o u g h t h e Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG). For Goa, it was a cultural coup. For IFFI, it meant a steady venue, a distinctive visual identity – the Mandovi riverfront, Miramar and Dona Paula as a backdrop – and a festival atmosphere that brought together tourists, locals and industry professionals in a compact, walkable city.
No discussion of IFFI’s presence in Goa is complete – or even honest – without acknowledging the towering role of late Shri Manohar Parrikar. It wasn’t merely a decision made in a conference room; it was Parrikar’s vision, audacity and administrative clarity that permanently altered India’s cultural map. When IFFI was searching for stability after
decades of rotating venues, Parrikar saw an opportunity most leaders would have overlooked. Goa, in his mind, wasn’t just a picturesque destination – it was a global cultural stage waiting to be activated. He pushed relentlessly for Goa to host IFFI in 2004, convinced that the state had both the charm and the competence to match international film festivals.
What Followed Became Part Of Goa’s Modern History
Ÿ A festival infrastructure built in record time, turning Panaji and Dona Paula into a dedicated cinematic campus.
Ÿ A permanent cultural identity for Goa — no longer just beaches and nightlife, but a global meeting point for cinema lovers.
Ÿ A new creative confidence among Goan filmmakers who now had India’s biggest film festival in their own backyard. Parrikar didn’t just bring IFFI to Goa — he anchored it here. Under his leadership, the Central Government formally declared Goa the permanent venue of IFFI, a landmark moment that fused the festival’s identity with the state forever. It was one of the most culturally transformative decisions Goa has ever witnessed – a legacy that continues to define the state two decades later.
Iffi In Goa Is Not Merely An Event.
D R P R A M O D S A W A N T : STRENGTHENING THE LEGACY AND EXPANDING IFFI’S GLOBAL AMBITION
If Parrikar brought IFFI to Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant has spent his tenure strengthening it, scaling it, and shaping it for a new era of global cinema, technology and tourism.
As Chief Minister, Dr Sawant has consistently positioned IFFI as Goa’s largest annual cultural and economic catalyst, emphasising that the festival is not just a cinematic celebration but a strategic driver for film tourism, international visibility and creative economy.
Under his leadership
Ÿ ESG’s festival infrastructure is upgraded year after year, with a focus on accessibility, technology and world-class venues.
Ÿ Goa continues to operate as a singlewindow film permission hub, encouraging production houses, OTT platforms and global filmmakers to shoot in the state.
Ÿ T h e g o v e r n m e n t h a s i n v e s t e d significantly in the festival’s on-ground execution — technical setups, delegate experiences, branding, and international collaborations.
Ÿ Goa’s positioning has expanded from
festival host to cinematic ecosystem, with IFFI at the centre of film business, training and innovation.
Dr Sawant’s vision is not limited to celebrating cinema; it is about leveraging IFFI to cement Goa’s reputation as India’s premier cultural–creative destination. From supporting high-level masterclasses and international partnerships to championing segments like Creative Minds of Tomorrow and new initiatives such as the CinemAI Hackathon, Sawant has driven IFFI’s evolution into a future-ready festival.
Where Parrikar laid the strong and steady foundation, Dr Pramod Sawant is building the skyscraper ensuring that Goa remains synonymous with IFFI not just for what it was, but for what it is becoming: a global stage for cinema, creativity, innovation and cultural diplomacy.
If the past two decades have anchored IFFI in Goa, the 56th edition aims to push its global relevance. According to the official curtainraiser released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), IFFI 2025 will present over 240 films from 81 countries, including 13 world premieres, 5 international premieres and 44 Asian premieres – selected from a record 2,314 submissions across 127 countries.
The Opening Film is The Blue Trail by Brazilian auteur Gabriel Mascaro, winner of the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at Berlinale 2025, signalling the festival’s commitment to s h o w c a s i n g b o l d , a w a r d - w i n n i n g contemporary cinema. A strong “Cinema of the World” slate brings more than 55 international titles, including high-profile winners from Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Locarno, Busan, Toronto and Rotterdam such as It Was Just An Accident, Father Mother Sister Brother, Dreams (sex Love), Sirât and Gloaming in Luomu.
On the Indian side, the Indian Panorama 2025 will showcase 25 feature films, 20 non-feature films and five debut features, with Amaran (Tamil) opening the feature section and Kakori leading the non-feature line-up Regional cinema’s growing presence is reflected in selections such as Su from So, Vanya (Kannada) and Imbu (Tulu) in the Panorama’s feature category – a sign of how IFFI has become an important national platform for films far beyond the Hindi mainstream.
This year’s Country Focus is Japan, with a curated package of six contemporary Japanese films across genres – from intimate dramas to festival-winning psychological thrillers and youth sci-fi – while Spain appears as Partner Country and Australia as Spotlight Country Centenary tributes will honour
legends such as Guru Dutt, Raj Khosla, Ritwik Ghatak, P. Bhanumathi, Bhupen Hazarika and Salil Chowdhury through restored classics like Musafir and Subarnarekha.
Adding a layer of star power, IFFI 2025 will also felicitate superstar Rajinikanth at the closing ceremony, marking 50 years of his contribution to Indian cinema – a gesture that reinforces the festival’s connection with popular culture as well as arthouse cinema.
MASTERCLASSES, WAVES FILM BAZAAR AND THE FIRST AI HACKATHON
Beyond screenings, IFFI 2025 doubles down on its role as a knowledge and networking hub. The festival is hosting 21 masterclasses and panel discussions at Kala Academy and other venues, featuring names such as Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Anupam Kher, Aamir Khan, Christopher Charles Corbould OBE, Suhasini Maniratnam, Sreekar Prasad and leading VFX specialists Topics range from editing and acting in the digital era to sustainability, theatre techniques, AI and the future of filmmaking.
The long-running Film Bazaar has been rebadged as WAVES Film Bazaar and is now in its 19th edition. In 2025 it will present over 300 film projects through its Co-Production Market, Screenwriters’ Lab, Work-in-Progress Lab and Viewing Room, while offering cash grants of $20,000 to selected projects. The goal is clear: to cement Goa’s November as the moment when Indian and international producers, sales agents and festival programmers converge to do real business around content.
Two notable additions this year underline IFFI’s push towards innovation and youth:
Ÿ Creative Minds of Tomorrow (CMOT) expands to 124 selected participants across 13 filmmaking crafts, including a 48hour film challenge in partnership with ShortsTV.
Ÿ CinemAI Hackathon, billed as India’s first AI film hackathon at a major festival, invites global teams to create short films entirely using AI tools, with winning works premiering at IFFI and cash awards across multiple categories.
IFFIESTA, Accessible Venues and a Festival for Citizens
IFFI 2025 is also consciously stepping beyond auditoriums. A new cultural spin-off, IFFIESTA, will run from 21–24 November with live concerts, battle-of-bands events and curated performances that bring music, theatre and youth culture into the festival orbit. Screenings will take place across INOX Panjim, Maquinez Palace, INOX Porvorim, Z-Square Samrat Ashok and Ravindra Bhavan Margao, with open-air shows at Miramar, Fatorda and Anjuna bringing world cinema literally to the
beach Importantly, official releases emphasise that venues will be equipped with accessibility features such as audio description, sign-language interpretation and multilingual dubbing – a sign that inclusivity is gradually shifting from rhetoric to infrastructure.
For Goa, this means more than a fortnight of glitz. It translates into hotel bookings, local transport and F&B business, but also into an annual habit of engaging with global stories –something that benefits students, local filmmakers, cinephiles and citizens as much as visiting delegates As PIB notes, IFFI now functions as a driver of film tourism and a platform for India’s soft power, with Goa as its front-facing stage.
“IFFI IS BACK” – AND GOA IS AT THE CENTRE OF THE FRAME
As the 56th edition begins, IFFI stands at an interesting crossroads: part celebration of cinematic heritage, part incubator for new voices, part test-bed for emerging technologies such as AI and extended reality. For Goans, the story is also personal. Two decades after Manohar Parrikar first fought to bring the festival here – and ensured that Goa became its permanent home – and with Dr Pramod Sawant now steering its expansion as a world-class cultural and industry event, IFFI has become woven into the state’s identity. This November, as the lights come up on The Blue Trail, the centenary tributes roll, Rajinikanth’s golden jubilee is celebrated and young creators race through an AI hackathon under the IFFI banner, the message is simple: IFFI is back, bigger and more ambitious than ever – and Goa, once again, is where the world comes to watch, discuss and dream cinema.

In a rapidly transforming India, where innovation stands at the centre of economic progress, Goa has taken a decisive and visionary leap with the launch of the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana (MSRY). Positioned as a flagship mission to ignite entrepreneurship across all corners of the state, MSRY represents not just a scheme, but a structural shift in how Goa sees its future — one built on self-reliance, enterprise creation, skill development, and grassroots innovation. Through a powerful partnership between EDC Ltd , the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) – Goa Centre, and the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC), the State has designed a program that aims to reshape mindsets, empower communities, and cultivate an entrepreneurial culture that lasts for
generations.
At its core, MSRY seeks to turn Goa into a hub of innovation, enterprise, and sustainable livelihoods, where individuals become job creators rather than job seekers This fundamental shift aligns seamlessly with the broader aspirations of Swayampurna Goa, the National Education Policy 2020, and national movements like Startup India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The vision is clear: to build a vibrant ecosystem where youth, faculty, and citizens are empowered with the knowledge, resources, and mentorship needed to translate ideas into impactful ventures.
The program does not treat entrepreneurship as a privilege for a few but as a state-wide opportunity that can be nurtured through
awareness, capacity building, and structured support at every level — from students to institutions, from educators to local communities.
The architecture of MSRY stands on the strong foundation of two key institutions.
EDC Ltd , Goa’s premier development corporation, serves as the implementing agency, building on its 50-year legacy of facilitating industrial development, offering financial assistance, and supporting ventures through programs like the Chief Minister’s Rojgar Yojana.
Parallelly, EDII – Goa Centre, backed by the national expertise of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, plays the role of training partner, driving curriculum design,

faculty development, knowledge creation, and mentoring support Together with the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce, they form a cohesive system designed to deliver MSRY efficiently and meaningfully across Goa.
M S R Y ’ S M U L T I - P R O N G E D FRAMEWORK: CHANGING MINDSETS, CREATING IMPACT
The strength of MSRY lies in its layered, holistic, and far-reaching design — a program built on education, awareness, mentorship, mobilization, and technology.
1. Faculty Mentor Development Programme (FMDP)
One of the most visionary pillars of MSRY is the creation of a state-wide network of trained entrepreneurship mentors. In the very first year, 200 faculty members from Higher Education,
Technical Education, Skill Development, and School Education sectors will be selected for advanced training.
These educators undergo intensive learning at the EDII Ahmedabad campus, covering essential themes such as entrepreneurial mindset building, innovation ecosystems, business model creation, mentoring techniques, and incubation pathways. Posttraining, they become local champions— catalyzing ideation sessions, guiding student innovators, and cultivating a culture of enterprise within their respective institutions. This initiative not only builds mentoring capacity today but creates a long-term support system for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.
2. Social Awareness and Community Outreach
For entrepreneurship to become a way of life, it must be understood, celebrated, and democratized Under MSRY, awareness programs are planned across schools, colleges, community halls, and Ravindra Bhavans, aiming to reach youth, women, tribal groups, and marginalized communities. These sessions are more than talks — they are immersive exchanges, featuring real-life success stories, expert insights, case studies, government scheme overviews, and interactive conversations. By dispelling myths around entrepreneurship and highlighting

accessible opportunities, MSRY breaks barriers and inspires communities to imagine new possibilities.
3. MSRY Talent Hunt: A Stage for Goa’s Brightest Minds
One of the most dynamic components of the scheme is the MSRY Talent Hunt, a multi-tiered competition that identifies promising ideas from schools, colleges, and local communities. Conducted at the taluka, district, and state levels, the Talent Hunt connects participants to incubation opportunities, mentorship networks, expert panels, and pathways for funding and technical support. This is not just a contest — it is the creation of a pipeline of start-ups rooted in Goan soil, capturing the creativity and aspirations of the next generation.
4. Project Profiles, Knowledge Banks, and Idea Repositories
Recognizing that aspiring entrepreneurs often struggle with direction and clarity, MSRY introduces a comprehensive system of Project Profiles region-specific guides outlining viable business opportunities based on field research and market data.
Complementing this are the Idea Bank and Digital Knowledge Repository, accessible through the MSRY portal. These platforms ensure continuous access to information, case studies, training material, and documentation — allowing innovators to learn, explore, and build confidently.
5. Technology-Powered Governance: RealTime Monitoring
A major innovation under MSRY is the development of a dedicated digital portal,
seamlessly integrated with the Chief Minister’s Dashboard.
The portal ensures transparency, real-time performance tracking, data insights, mentor availability, project ideas, training schedules, and feedback mechanisms. By embedding technology at the heart of governance, MSRY stays agile, accountable, and responsive to emerging needs at the grassroots level.
6. A Convergent, Whole-of-Government Approach
MSRY thrives on a robust institutional framework that brings together multiple government departments, including the Directorates of Higher Education, Technical
& Entrepreneurship, and School Education. This inter-departmental synergy ensures lastmile delivery, consistent outreach, and alignment with broader developmental goals. It positions entrepreneurship not merely as a policy but as a movement woven into the very fabric of Goa’s socio-economic landscape.
At the grand launch, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, articulated the spirit of MSRY with clarity and conviction: “Entrepreneurship is the future of Goa. With the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana, we are not just creating jobs — we are creating job

creators. This initiative will transform the way our youth, educators, and society approach the idea of growth, innovation, and selfreliance.”
His words echo the central promise of the scheme: a future where opportunities are not awaited, but created.
The projected impact of MSRY over its five-
year implementation is nothing short of transformative:
Ÿ 1,000+ Faculty Mentors trained across Goa
Ÿ 10,000+ students and citizens engaged in awareness and ideation programs
Ÿ Hundreds of new ventures catalyzed
Ÿ Entrepreneurship institutionalized as a fundamental pillar of Goa’s development strategy
These outcomes reflect Goa’s commitment to creating a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem capable of generating jobs, driving innovation, and strengthening the state economy.
The Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana is not merely a government program — it is an invitation to imagine a different future for Goa A future where ideas flourish in classrooms, where communities embrace innovation, where youth find mentors at every turn, and where enterprise becomes a shared language across the state.
By investing in people, knowledge, mentorship, and institutional collaboration, MSRY lays the foundation for a self-reliant Goa powered by entrepreneurship. It empowers citizens not only to pursue their aspirations but to shape Goa’s destiny with confidence, creativity, and resilience.
In its essence, MSRY is both a celebration and a commitment a celebration of Goa’s potential, and a commitment to unlocking it fully. And as this ambitious roadmap unfolds, it carries with it the promise of a new era: an era where Goa does not wait for the future but builds it.

On most postcards, Goa is framed as India’s party playground – sunsets, shack lights, music on the sand. But if you look a little closer today, another picture is emerging. At sunrise, the same beaches fill with yoga mats instead of bar stools; hillside villas turn into detox retreats; sound baths replace loudspeakers. Quietly, Goa is riding a new wave – one where people arrive not just to escape, but to heal. Across India, wellness tourism is no longer a niche. Market analyses place India’s wellness tourism sector in the tens of billions of dollars, driven by Ayurveda, yoga, other traditional therapies and government promotion under the “Heal in India” banner. Goa, with its blend
of tropical landscape, cosmopolitan energy and long stay culture, is perfectly positioned within this national shift, and is increasingly being projected as a premier wellness destination by its own tourism authorities.
YOGA BY THE SEA: GOA’S NEW MORNING
Official tourism portals now describe Goa as “dotted with numerous yoga retreats, studios, and wellness resorts,” emphasising how the state’s calm environment and natural beauty create an ideal setting for practice. These centres offer everything from gentle introductory classes to intensive multi-week
programs, catering to beginners, advanced practitioners, and teacher trainees alike. In the north, areas like Mandrem, Arambol and Morjim are known for riverside and beachfront yoga communities, with retreat centres that combine daily asana, breathwork and meditation with simple, nourishing food and digital downtime. In the south, quieter stretches such as Agonda and Patnem host smaller, more intimate retreats where guests can step directly from shala to shoreline before breakfast. For many visitors – from Europeans escaping winter to Indian professionals burnt out by corporate life – the image of Goa is no longer only of nightlife, but

of the first light: a silent, sun-saluting line facing the Arabian Sea.
If yoga is Goa’s new morning ritual, Ayurveda is becoming its all-day backbone India’s wellness identity rests heavily on this 3,000year-old system of medicine, and Goa has moved quickly to integrate it into its tourism narrative The state tourism department highlights Ayurveda and yoga together as a core wellness offering and has partnered with the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa to create structured wellness and sensitisation programmes for international visitors. On the ground, this strategy is visible in the variety of Ayurvedic centres in the state – from government-linked facilities such as the Panchakarma unit at AIIA Goa to private clinics and residential retreats that offer traditional detox programmes, doctor-led consultations and personalised diet and lifestyle plans. Many visitors now design their entire Goa trip around a 7-, 14- or 21-day Panchakarma or rejuvenation package rather than the usual three-night holiday. Locals, too, increasingly turn to Ayurvedic massage, stress-relief therapies and preventive routines, reflecting a wider Indian trend in which the AYUSH sector – Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy – is expanding rapidly in both domestic and tourism markets.
T H E R I S E O F S O U N D T H E R A P Y , BREATHWORK AND ALTERNATIVE
Goa’s wellness wave is not limited to classical yoga and Ayurveda. Over the past decade, the state has become a hub for contemporary healing modalities such as sound therapy, breathwork and meditation Specialised centres and schools now run intensive soundhealing trainings using Tibetan singing bowls,
gongs and other instruments, drawing participants from around the world. Alongside these trainings, shorter sound-bath sessions and “sacred sound” evenings have become a staple on wellness retreat schedules. Guests lie under palm-thatched roofs or in open shalas as layered vibrations wash over them, marketed as a way to assist deep relaxation, emotional processing and better sleep. Some retreats weave these practices with pranayama and guided journalling, creating hybrid wellness experiences that feel modern yet rooted in India’s meditative traditions.
One of the clearest signs that wellness is becoming core to Goa’s identity is the maturity of its retreat ecosystem. Global platforms that aggregate yoga and wellness holidays list scores of retreats in Goa – often more than a hundred active programmes in a typical season, ranging from budget ashram-style stays to high-end beachfront detoxes. These retreats are designed not as quick weekend breaks but as immersive, often multiweek experiences. Participants might combine morning vinyasa or traditional hatha classes with Ayurveda consultations, mindful coastal walks, plant-based menus and structured time away from alcohol or late nights. In doing so, Goa taps into the global shift towards slow travel and secondary wellness tourism – journeys where wellness is not the only reason to travel, but becomes a defining part of the experience. For Goa’s economy, this trend has a specific advantage: wellness travellers tend to stay longer, spend more on local services and visit outside peak party months, smoothing the seasonality that has long troubled the tourism sector.
Many destinations now market themselves as wellness hubs, from Himalayan villages to desert eco-resorts. What makes Goa distinctive is the combination of sea, susegad and openness The coastal climate, lush greenery and relatively small geographic scale create an immediate sense of breathing space compared with larger metros. Decades of being an international crossroads mean that Goa is comfortable hosting travellers from all over the world, and English is widely spoken alongside Konkani and other Indian languages. Culturally, the much-talked-about Goan idea of susegad – a relaxed, contented approach to life – dovetails naturally with wellness messaging. While the reality of modern Goa includes traffic, rising real-estate pressure and busy seasons, the underlying aspiration of a slower, more balanced life continues to draw both visitors and new residents Wellness centres tap into this promise: come for a week, they suggest, and sample a version of the life you secretly wish you could live all year.
As India positions itself as a global wellness leader under national strategies for medical and wellness tourism, Goa is clearly one of the coastal jewels in that larger story. But with opportunity comes responsibility. There is a real risk that “wellness” could become just another label – a way to repackage realestate projects or resorts without genuine commitment to holistic practice, fair labour and environmental care.
For Goa to sustain its wellness wave authentically, three principles will matter. First, quality and regulation: partnering with credible Ayurvedic institutions, ensuring trained therapists and teachers, and protecting guests from unsafe or misleading practices Second, inclusion of local communities: creating employment and training pathways for Goans, supporting local farmers and suppliers for retreat kitchens, and respecting village ecosystems where centres are built. Third, environmental integrity: managing waste, limiting over-construction, protecting beaches and forests, and aligning wellness claims with genuinely sustainable operations.
If Goa can hold this balance – between growth and grounding, between hosting the world and staying true to itself – its wellness wave could become more than a passing trend. It could be the next chapter of Goa’s identity: a place where people still come to celebrate life, but increasingly to realign, reset and return home carrying not just souvenirs, but a deeper sense of well-being.

In the world of Indian logistics and maritime strategy, few voices carry the authority and depth of experience that Capt. Tamal Roy brings. As Convenor of the CII Goa Panel on Logistics and Group President & Chief Strategy Officer at the J M Baxi Group, he has spent over three decades shaping the way India moves goods across oceans, ports, railways, and inland waterways. From his early years as a Master Mariner to steering the growth of one of India's most influential logistics companies, Capt Roy has lived every layer of the supply chain, on both sea and land. In an exclusive conversation with Incredible Goa, he shares his journey and his sharply defined vision for Goa's future as a modern, environmentally aligned logistics hub.
Capt. Roy's entry into logistics began on the deck of a ship Having sailed for 12 years and reached the rank of captain, he made a pivotal decision: to step ashore and restart his career from the bottom. It was a choice that r e q u i r e d h u m i l i t y a n d determination, but it eventually led him into leadership positions with large organisations including the Adani Group, Tata Group, a Norwegian shipping company, and finally the J M Baxi Group. His transition from sea to shore offered him a perspective few p r o f e s s i o n a l s p o s s e s s a n intimate understanding of how global logistics truly work. One of the most formative
chapters of his career came when he joined the development of one of India's earliest large-scale private ports. What began as swamp land went on to receive its first vessel, and he witnessed every stage of the transformation. Those years, he says, taught him more than any classroom could: the art of real-time problem solving, the importance of designing efficient hubs, and the vast potential of ports as engines of economic growth.
That understanding forms the basis of his definition of logistics today. It is not merely the movement of cargo through ships, trucks, aircraft, or rail; it is the orchestration of entire ecosystems ports, terminals, depots, warehouses, cold chains, and digital infrastructure. True efficiency, he emphasises, lies in how well the hubs and spokes interact, not in how many trucks or ships are added to a system.
Against this backdrop, Goa occupies a distinctive place. With its coastal geography and compact connectivity through road, rail, air, and sea, the state is naturally positioned to play a larger role in India's logistics network. Yet, the dramatic fall in iron ore exports over the last decade exposed a deeper vulnerability: Goa's dependence on a single commodity. Mormugao Port, once a bustling gateway supporting miners, barge operators, truckers, and allied sectors, saw volumes plummet. For Capt. Roy, this was a clear signal that Goa needed to rethink its maritime identity.
H e b e l i e v e s t h e f u t u r e l i e s i n diversification—not towards more bulk cargo, but towards high-value, cleaner, and specialised segments. Containerisation, coldchain logistics, cruise tourism, marinas, fisheries, and technology-enabled services represent the next chapter for Goa. These sectors not only align with the state's environmental sensitivities but also offer greater margins and more sustainable employment.
Reinventing Mormugao Port, he says, requires both clarity and courage. The port must reduce its dependence on traditional bulk cargo and expand into containers, reefers, and valueadded services. With the inner harbour c o n s t r a i n e d e n v i r o n m e n t a l l y a n d geographically, the long-term strategy may involve outer-harbour development or selective reclamation—approaches that many global ports have used successfully but which must be executed with strict ecological responsibility.
Environmental responsibility is non-negotiable in Goa, and Capt. Roy is acutely aware of this. He calls for a strong green-transition roadmap for the port—electrifying equipment, sourcing
renewable power, and introducing cleaner fuels for harbour craft. Ports in India are legally allowed to generate renewable energy for their own use, which he believes could be a major advantage for Mormugao, especially in repurposing fragmented land parcels. Connectivity, however, remains an Achilles' heel. While road links to the port are relatively robust, the rail corridors passing through the ghats restrict capacity. Any serious attempt at modernising Goa's logistics capabilities must therefore include upgraded rail infrastructure to complement and relieve the roads.
To build Goa's next wave of cargo, the state must look at sectors that are natural fits. Cruise tourism and home-porting bring high-spend visitors without burdening the coastline with heavy cargo Marinas and recreational boating, when planned responsibly, can coexist with marine ecosystems Fisheries, supported by a modern harbour with mechanised sorting, cold storage, and reefer connectivity, can directly channel marine products into containers instead of long-haul trucking. Pharmaceuticals—already a strong Goan sector—could shift more export volumes through Goa once container connectivity scales up.
There are already early signs of this transformation Coastal feeder services connecting smaller ports to major container hubs have started calling at Goa again. With coordinated state policies, incentives, and long-term visibility, these services can gain the scale required to make direct containerisation a reality for more local industries.
A major initiative shaping this vision is the proposed Goa Centre of Excellence on Logistics, a collaborative effort by CII, the Goa government, and the Goa Institute of Management. Capt. Roy describes it as the knowledge nucleus the state needs a dedicated hub for mapping cargo flows, analysing capacities, identifying gaps, and supporting data-backed policy decisions. For a state as compact and strategically positioned as Goa, such a centre could define the blueprint for every future investment. What makes Goa particularly suited for this next chapter is its inherent maritime DNA. Thousands of Goans serve globally across shipping, cruise, and hospitality sectors. Capt. Roy believes structured training and certification facilities within the state can retain more of this talent and attract students from outside as well. Additionally, Goa's rising tech community—remote workers, start-ups, digital professionals can contribute meaningfully by developing optimisation tools, digital tracking systems, and green-port analytics that are increasingly critical to modern logistics.
Looking ahead, the green-port revolution presents new entrepreneurial and employment opportunities for Goa. Battery-powered tugs, electrified equipment, shore-power systems, renewable energy integration, and lowemission logistics solutions will define the next decade of port development worldwide. Goa, he suggests, must not remain an observer but a participant in this shift.
The broader logistics ecosystem has the potential to create thousands of high-quality jobs across port operations, marine engineering, ship repair, warehousing, coldchain management, rail operations, data analytics, and tourism-linked maritime services. With coordinated planning between the state, industry, and institutions, Goa can unlock a diverse and future-ready job landscape for its youth.
The upcoming eleventh edition of the CII Conference on Logistics aims to accelerate this dialogue. Capt. Roy highlights that the conference will bring together government authorities, industry leaders, infrastructure providers, and technology innovators to evaluate the progress of logistics initiatives in Goa and showcase emerging best practices in digitisation, sustainability, and supply chain excellence.
At the heart of Capt. Roy's perspective lies a powerful message: Goa does not need to be a mega port; it needs to be the right kind of port.
B o u t i q u e , s p e c i a l i s e d , h i g h - v a l u e , environmentally attuned, and driven by knowledge and technology—this is the Goa he envisions.
For a state with a long maritime legacy and a fast-evolving economic landscape, his vision offers a clear and compelling blueprint. And perhaps, a reminder that the next chapter of Goa's growth may very well be written not on land, but on its coastline—where tradition, technology, and opportunity meet.

There are places you visit, and there are places that feel like they've been waiting for you. JW Marriott Goa, nestled along the dramatic cliffs and breezy palms of Vagator, is the latter — a resort that doesn't merely host you, but immerses you in a mood, a rhythm, a sensory world crafted with intention. From the moment one arrives, it becomes clear why this property has quickly risen to the top tier of Goa's luxury stays: here, hospitality isn't service — it's an art form.
The hotel's location alone feels like a promise. Standing just minutes from Vagator Beach, Chapora Fort, and the region's eclectic café culture, JW Marriott Goa enjoys one of North Goa's most enviable positions only 43
kilometres from Goa International Airport, 33 kilometres from Manohar International Airport at Mopa, and under 20 kilometres from the nearest railway station. Yet the moment you enter, the outside world seems to soften, recede, and dissolve.
As we stepped into the expansive, sun-washed lobby, the atmosphere shifted into something almost ceremonial. Trays of orchid flower crowns, orchid garlands, and chilled welcome drinks arrived with quiet grace. The check-in wasn't simply efficient — it felt personal, warm, almost ritualistic, as if each gesture were designed to mark the beginning of something special.
The lobby itself captures the essence of modern coastal luxury: Pearl and earth tones, polished wood, and delicate accents echoing sand, shell, and sea. There's an immediate sense of calm — the kind that settles into your bones and tells you you've made the right choice.
R O O M S T H A T R E D E F I N E W H A T “STAYCATION” MEANS
The walk to our room revealed the design thinking that defines JW Marriott Goa — a blend of Goa's tropical personality with modern luxury comfort. Every one of the resort's 151 rooms and suites features a balcony, many overlooking tropical greens, some offering glimpses of the Arabian Sea.

Inside, ours felt less like a hotel room and more like a private sanctuary. A huge television, plush bedding, premium linens, and a thoughtfully designed work corner merged seamlessly with a space intended purely for rest The marble bathroom with its standalone bathtub and rain shower — instantly became a haven of indulgence. But it was the welcome amenity that truly elevated the experience: delicate seashell and pearl-inspired chocolates, crafted to match the hotel's coastal theme A small gesture, yet undeniably magical — the kind of detail that sets luxury hotels apart from the rest.
The heart of the property is its spectacular infinity pool, a shimmering expanse of blue that appears to merge with the Vagator landscape Seen from Agua, the poolside Italian restaurant, it looks almost cinematic — the water reflecting the sky, the palms swaying in quiet chorus.
By day, families, couples, and weekenders drift lazily through the water or settle into sun loungers with chilled drinks. By evening, the pool becomes a stage for the sunset — hues of gold and rose washing over the sky, the night sky around the cliffs beginning to glow. It is, quite simply, the emotional centre of the staycation — the place where time slows, conversations stretch, and the day finds its natural rhythm.
THE JW FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT CENTER: A PLAYGROUND FOR ALL AGES
A staycation should be effortless. It should offer enough to keep you entertained without
leaving the premises — and JW Marriott Goa excels here The JW Family Entertainment Center is a surprise many guests don't expect in a luxury resort.
Here, the energy is charged: bowling alleys glow in neon light, virtual reality games pull you into fantasy worlds, and virtual golf lets you tee off without ever stepping outdoors. There's a dedicated children's play area too, perfectly safe and wonderfully lively.
For families, this space is a blessing. For adults rediscovering play, it's pure joy.
Beyond entertainment, the hotel stays true to JW Marriott's global wellness ethos. The fitness centre remains open 24 hours; the sauna and steam rooms offer the perfect post-workout detox; and Spa by JW, operated in partnership w i t h L ' O c c i t a n e , b r i n g s s o o t h i n g , Mediterranean-inspired rituals to Vagator. Whether you crave a deep-tissue massage, a signature aromatherapy journey, or a simple moment of stillness, the spa acts as the resort's beating heart a sanctuary within a sanctuary.
Culinary Journeys Worth Planning the Trip For The dining experiences at JW Marriott Goa deserve their own chapter. The resort houses four distinct restaurants, each thoughtfully curated, each reflecting its own mood and culinary identity.
JW KITCHEN — THE SOUL OF THE RESORT
JW Kitchen is where mornings begin, and they begin beautifully. The breakfast buffet is almost overwhelming in its generosity: matcha croissants, shakshuka, freshly stone-ground
dosas, regional Indian specialties, vegan options, gluten-free breads, artisanal cheeses, sugar-free desserts, tropical fruits — the list feels endless.
It is the kind of breakfast that urges you to slow down, savour every bite, and rethink your relationship with mornings.
ÁGUA — INFINITY DINING UNDER THE SKY
Perched above the pool, Água is a sensorial Italian experience. Homemade pastas, woodfired pizzas, indulgent risottos — everything appears almost handcrafted for the Goa climate. Paired with cocktails and live music under an open sky, it becomes one of Vagator's most atmospheric dinner settings.
HELICONIA — NIKKEI ON THE WEST COAST
Heliconia celebrates Nikkei cuisine the delicate interplay of Japanese precision and Peruvian fire. Each dish is a balancing act: colourful, artistic, bold yet restrained. It is one of North Goa's most distinctive dining experiences.
PÉROLA WHERE ELEGANCE FINDS ITS PAUSE
Pérola, the lobby lounge, offers a quieter indulgence: afternoon tea, handcrafted coffees, warm baguettes, pastries, and glasses of fine wine. It's the perfect place to unwind between adventures or conversations. EVENTS, CELEBRATIONS AND GRAND OCCASIONS
The resort offers nearly 19,000 square feet of event space — a rare luxury in North Goa. From the 4,500-square-foot Grand Salao Ballroom to the outdoor terrace overlooking lush greens, JW Marriott Goa elegantly balances corporate sophistication with destination-wedding charm.
Meetings come alive with modern AV systems, high-speed Wi-Fi and capable planners; weddings unfold like cinema; intimate gatherings transform into unforgettable evenings under the stars.
WHAT
As the stay draws to an end, one realises that JW Marriott Goa succeeds for a reason deeper than design or amenities. It succeeds because it understands how people want to feel.
Taken care of.
Slowed down.
Spoilt just enough.
Free from deadlines, free from noise, free from the world outside.
It is a staycation not defined by “what you did,” but by how it made you feel — cherished, indulged, refreshed and renewed.
In a landscape full of luxury resorts, JW Marriott Goa stands apart for one simple reason: it remembers that luxury is not a thing — it is an emotion.
And here, that emotion lingers long after you've checked out.

On a breezy evening in Goa, it’s easy to see fashion as harmless fun: flowy dresses, slogan T-shirts, colourful resort wear picked up on a whim. But behind that “holiday wardrobe” lies a global machine called fast fashion – a system built on speed, volume, and disposability, and one of the most resource-hungry, polluting and exploitative industries on the planet.
Fast fashion promises style at the speed of your Instagram scroll: new drops every week, rock-bottom prices and the constant pressure to buy more. The true cost, however, is not printed on the tag. It is measured in rivers drained, oceans polluted, landfills overflowing, and workers pushed to breaking point. And the bill is arriving faster than we realise today.
WATER: THE INVISIBLE INGREDIENT IN EVERY
Most of us rarely connect our wardrobe to the water crisis. Yet the fashion industry is one of the world’s most water-intensive consumer sectors. Studies estimate that producing a single cotton T-shirt can require around 2,500–2,700 litres of water – roughly what one person would drink in two and a half years. Most of this “hidden” water is used not only to grow cotton but also in dyeing, washing and finishing fabrics.
The demand for cheap cotton has damaged ecosystems far from any fashion capital. The Aral Sea in Central Asia – once one of the world’s largest lakes – has shrunk to a fraction of its size because of irrigation for cotton and crops that feed markets in Europe and beyond. Goa may not grow cotton, but it imports
cotton-rich garments and textiles every tourist season. When we choose ultra-cheap T-shirts that last only a handful of wears, we are also “importing” this water footprint – and then throwing it away.
MICROPLASTICS: WHEN YOUR CLOTHES BECOME OCEAN POLLUTION
If cotton drinks water, synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon and acrylic shed plastic. These fibres are derived from fossil fuels and behave like any other plastic: they do not fully break down. With every wash, tiny strands called microfibres escape from our clothes into wastewater. Studies suggest that textiles contribute a significant share – estimated between about 16 and 35 per cent – of the primary microplastics entering the world’s oceans each year.

Once released, these microscopic particles are nearly impossible to capture. They travel from treatment plants to rivers and finally to the sea, where they are swallowed by fish, shellfish and plankton. Microplastics have now been found on remote ocean floors, in sea salt, drinking water and even in human blood and organs.
For a coastal region like Goa, this is not an abstract problem. Synthetic beachwear, fastfashion resort outfits and sportswear all shed fibres when washed in homes, hotels and laundries. These microplastics can enter local waterways and eventually the Arabian Sea –the same waters that support Goa’s fishing communities and seafood-driven hospitality industry.
WA S T E : L A N D F I L L S , D E S E R T S A N D
Fast fashion is built on overproduction
Globally, around 100 billion pieces of clothing are made every year, and an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste ends up being discarded annually. That is roughly a garbage truck full of clothes being landfilled or burned every single second.
What happens to clothes we donate or export?
Increasingly, they become someone else’s problem. In Chile’s Atacama Desert, piles of unwanted garments – many never worn – have created a toxic “fast fashion graveyard” visible from space. In Ghana and Kenya, massive imports of second-hand clothing, much of it poor quality, overwhelm local markets; unsellable items clog rivers, beaches and dumping grounds.
Indian cities, including those that supply Goa with garments, are also struggling with textile
waste. Clothes made from blended fibres are difficult to recycle. Synthetic fabrics can take decades or centuries to break down, releasing greenhouse gases and microplastics as they degrade. When tourists leave behind piles of low-cost outfits at the end of the season, local waste systems quietly absorb the burden.
HUMAN EXPLOITATION: THE THREAD NOBODY WANTS TO SEE
The environmental damage of fast fashion is inseparable from the human cost. The industry employs tens of millions of workers, mostly women, in countries such as Bangladesh, India, Cambodia and Vietnam. Yet research suggests that fewer than two per cent of garment workers earn a living wage. Many report unsafe conditions, wage theft, excessive overtime and harassment.
The 2013 collapse of the Rana Plaza factory complex in Bangladesh, which killed more than 1,100 workers, briefly shocked the world. A decade later, investigations show that exploitation persists: workers producing clothes for global brands still fight for basic wage increases that barely cover food and rent. The real reason prices are so low is simple – someone else is paying the difference with their health, their dignity and sometimes their life.
As consumers in Goa, we may be thousands of kilometres away from these factories, but our purchasing choices are directly linked to the pressures brands place on suppliers to deliver ever-cheaper, ever-faster fashion.
WHAT CAN A SMALL STATE LIKE GOA DO?
It is easy to feel powerless in the face of such a global problem. Yet change in fashion, as in tourism, begins with behaviour. A coastal state
that has already started talking seriously about sustainable tourism can also begin talking about sustainable wardrobes.
For Goan consumers, a few shifts make a real difference: buying fewer but better-made garments; choosing natural or recycled fibres where possible; supporting local designers and tailors who produce in smaller batches; repairing, altering and re-wearing clothes instead of discarding them after a season; and organising swap events within communities, colleges and workplaces.
For businesses – from hotels and restaurants to casinos, clubs and retail stores –uniforms and merchandise are a powerful starting point Choosing durable fabrics, classic designs that do not go out of style every six months, a n d s u p p l i e r s w h o a r e transparent about their labour and environmental standards can significantly reduce waste. Hospitality brands can also educate guests through in-room messaging, laundry guides and collaborations with ethical fashion labels.
Policy also has a role Around the world, governments are beginning to hold textile producers responsible for the end-of-life of their products and to restrict the destruction of unsold stock. Goa, as a state that understands both the vulnerability of its coastline and the power of its tourism story, can support extended producer responsibility, stronger waste-management norms and incentives for circular fashion initiatives.
Ultimately, fashion will always be about expression – colour, identity, joy. The question is whether we allow that expression to be built on silent damage Each time we buy something “just because it’s cheap,” we cast a small vote for more water extracted, more plastic shed, more workers squeezed, more waste shipped to someone else’s backyard. Fast fashion’s hidden toll is no longer hidden. The evidence is clear, and so is the opportunity. If a place as small – and as globally visible – as Goa can begin to tell a different style story, one that values longevity over novelty and responsibility over rush, it can inspire both locals and visitors to treat clothes not as disposable trends, but as part of a truly sustainable way of life.

Every person on this planet is now feeling the effects of climate change…. it's no longer something happening “SOMEWHERE ELSE.”
Because of that, sustainability has moved beyond slogans and commitments on paper. It has become a practical responsibility that each of us shares. Whether you're shortlisting building materials, planning a new project or looking at long-term maintenance, every decision adds up and shapes the world we leave in.
Today, green building certifications like IGBC, GRIHA, and LEED have become important because they signal that a project isn't just well

The actress revealed her character “Mandakini” in S. S. Rajamouli’s epic, after a long gap from Indian films, sending social media into a frenzy.
When S. S. Rajamouli announces a new film, the industry pays attention. When that film stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the reaction borders on hysteria. That is exactly what happened when Rajamouli unveiled Priyanka’s first look as Mandakini from his upcoming Telugu epic, now officially titled Varanasi, earlier known in the trade as SSMB 29 and under the working title GlobeTrotter. The First Look That Broke the Internet
On 12 November 2025, Rajamouli shared the poster on social media with a line that instantly set the tone for her comeback: “The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl!” The image shows Priyanka in a bright yellow saree, standing on the edge of a cliff, firing a gun while trying to keep her balance — a striking blend of traditional silhouette and full-blown action. Within 24 hours, the poster racked up more than 11 million views on X (formerly Twitter), over 2.5 lakh likes, tens of thousands of reposts, and hashtags like #Mandakini, #PriyankaChopraIsBack and
#GlobeTrotter trended across the platform. Fans summed up the mood with comments calling the look “pure fire” and “total boss energy.”
For audiences who last saw Priyanka headlining an Indian film more than a decade ago, the poster felt like a clear statement: this return is not about playing safe.
From “GlobeTrotter” to Varanasi In the weeks leading up to the reveal, the project was widely referred to as GlobeTrotter or SSMB 29, a nod to Mahesh Babu’s 29th film as lead. On 15 November 2025, at a large-scale “GlobeTrotter Event” at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, the makers officially announced the title Varanasi and unveiled a concept reel to thousands of fans, with the event live-streamed on JioHotstar and international platforms. The film is positioned as an epic sciencefiction action-adventure rooted in Indian mythology and time-travel, mounted on one of the biggest budgets ever for an Indian production and targeting a 2027 theatrical release.
Mandakini in Rajamouli’s New World In Varanasi, Mahesh Babu plays Rudhra, with reports confirming a special Ramayana-
inspired sequence where he appears as Lord Ram, while Prithviraj Sukumaran takes on the antagonist’s role as Kumbha. Priyanka’s Mandakini stands alongside these towering figures, framed not as a decorative presence but as a force within this sprawling adventure.
Trade coverage and fan commentary alike note that her look breaks the stereotype of the “song-and-dance heroine” associated with mainstream commercial cinema. The gun, the cliff, the stormy backdrop and the grounded saree styling all hint at a character who moves between vulnerability, strength and moral complexity — very much in line with Rajamouli’s pattern of writing memorable women in large-scale narratives. Why This Comeback Matters
For Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Mandakini is more than just another role. It marks a fullscale return to Indian cinema after years of primarily Hollywood and global projects, and she is stepping back in at the centre of one of the country’s most talked-about films. For Rajamouli, her casting brings additional global visibility to a film already carrying enormous expectations after Baahubali and RRR.
If the first look is any indication, Varanasi is not just building a spectacle, but a set of characters designed to live in the audience’s memory. And at the heart of that promise, Mandakini stands as the bold signal that Priyanka Chopra is, unmistakably, back.

In an era where information travels faster than ever—and often without filters—the average reader is one click away from being misled. Fake news no longer looks fake. It comes packaged in polished graphics, emotional headlines, edited videos, AIgenerated voices, and cleverly manipulated screenshots. What makes misinformation dangerous today is not just its volume, but its believability. And in India, where digital consumption is skyrocketing, the threat has quietly woven itself into everyday life. The truth is simple: misinformation doesn’t spread because creators are always clever; it spreads because readers don’t verify. This article aims to change that.
1. Pause Before You Share
Most fake news survives because people forward it instantly—out of excitement, fear, or good intentions. The first act of verification is the simplest: don’t forward anything immediately, no matter how urgent or emotional it seems. Whether it’s a warning, health alert, missing-person message, political claim, or celebrity rumour, wait. If something is truly important, it will appear on multiple reliable sources—not just WhatsApp. 2. Check the Source, Not the Screen shot
One of the most common traps today is the screenshot: a cropped image designed to hide context. Many fake messages include a false “Times of India”, “BBC” or “ANI” logo to seem legitimate.
A safer rule:
If you only see a screenshot and cannot find the same story on the outlet’s official website or verified handle, treat it as unverified.
Screenshots can be edited within seconds. Checking the original website or verified social account gives you a much better chance of seeing the real context.
3. Verify Through Credible Outlets
In India, reliable information usually comes from established, accountable platforms—news organisations that publish corrections, cite sources, and have editorial oversight. If a major claim appears only on social media and not on reputable publications, it deserves doubt, not trust. Before believing anything:
Check the top reputed national or regional news sites, which are known for their facts Look for multiple independent confirmations Avoid anonymous blogs, forwarded messages, and channels with no
transparency
If only one strange account is “breaking the news”, it is likely manufactured or misleading.
4. Reverse Image Search: Your Secret Weapon
Fake news often uses old, unrelated, or edited images. A reverse image search on tools like Google Images or TinEye can reveal where a photo first appeared.
A viral riot image could be from another state.
A dramatic flood video could be from another year.
A protest photo could be from another country.
In seconds, you can separate truth from fabrication.
5. Beware of Emotional Language
Misinformation thrives on emotion—anger, shock, fear, pride. Headlines written in all caps, filled with exclamation marks, or urging immediate action (“PLEASE READ NOW!!”) are red flags.
Reliable news informs.
Fake news manipulates.
6. Understand How AI Fakes Are Made
Deepfake videos, AI-generated voices, and edited audio clips are becoming alarmingly realistic. The average viewer can be fooled instantly. Learn to spot inconsistencies—unnatural facial movements, mismatched shadows, audio glitches, or strange blinking patterns. When in doubt, cross-check the claim with multiple trusted sources instead of trusting a single clip.
7. When Uncertain, Don’t Share
There is no shame in not knowing. The real harm comes from spreading a lie. In the age of misinformation, responsibility begins with restraint.
The Final Word
Verification is no longer optional. It is a civic duty. Every time you choose to double-check instead of forward blindly, you protect your community from fear, division, and manipulation. In a world overflowing with voices, the most powerful act is choosing the truth—carefully, consciously, and consistently. Because today, being informed is not about knowing more.
It’s about verifying better.

A seismic shift is underway in the world of entrepreneurship. Gone are the days when launching a startup required a large team, a physical office, and heavy operational investments. Today, an entirely new category of founders is redefining what it means to build a business — the micro-entrepreneur, a solo creator who uses technology, automation, and digital ecosystems to build companies that grow and scale without the traditional startup blueprint. This rise of the one-person startup is not a fringe movement. It is the quiet backbone of the modern economy.
Technology Has Become the New Team
The reason this shift is possible is simple: today, software performs the work of multiple departments. AI tools can write content, generate logos, assist with coding, manage customer queries, plan marketing strategies, and provide in-depth analytics in real time. No-code platforms allow founders with zero technical background to build fullscale apps, websites, and automation systems within days, not months. Where early-stage entrepreneurs once struggled with limited resources, microentrepreneurs now have access to world-
class production tools — often at the cost of a monthly subscription. This means that a single founder can execute the work previously requiring designers, developers, marketers, editors, and analysts.
From Passion to Product — Faster Than Ever
The shift isn’t only technological; it’s cultural. The younger generation is embracing entrepreneurship as a career path rather than a long-term dream. A content creator can turn their audience into a brand within months. A fitness coach can launch an online academy without hiring a team. A writer can publish, promote, and monetise their work independently through newsletters and digital marketplaces.
The barrier between “idea” and “execution” has never been lower. Today, individuals are converting skills into scalable digital products — from templates and courses to SaaS tools, consulting services, and niche subscription communities.
Lean, Agile, and Global From Day One One-person startups aren’t small; they’re simply structured differently. With remote work and digital sales, micro-entrepreneurs can serve global audiences from anywhere.
A single founder in Goa can sell to customers in the US, UK, or the Middle East without altering operations or expanding overheads. This lean structure allows them to:
Ÿ build quickly
Ÿ pivot faster
Ÿ experiment without heavy risk
Ÿ maintain full ownership and creative control
In many cases, these solo ventures stay highly profitable precisely because their costs remain low and decisions stay in one pair of hands.
The Rise of the ‘AI-Augmented Founder’
The most defining aspect of this new age is the emergence of the AI-augmented founder — individuals who amplify their capabilities using AI assistants. These founders leverage generative AI for brainstorming, strategy, customer engagement, market research, and product design. AI acts as a silent business partner, helping them function like a multidepartment startup.
This blend of human creativity with machine efficiency is creating a new class of entrepreneurs who are both independent and scalable.
New Era of Entrepreneurship
The rise of micro-entrepreneurs signals a larger movement: business creation is becoming more personal, more flexible, and more democratic. You don’t need a cofounder, a big team, or venture funding to build something meaningful. All you need is an idea, the willingness to learn, and the courage to start. In this era, one person with the right tools can build what once required an entire company.
The age of the micro-entrepreneur isn’t the future. It’s already here.

For years, artificial intelligence has lived inside our apps — answering queries, creating reminders, helping with navigation. But in 2025, a dramatic shift is underway. AI is no longer just a feature. It is becoming a personal companion, embedded across devices, understanding habits, anticipating needs, and learning your preferences with increasing accuracy.
Welcome to the age of Personal AI — the next evolution in everyday technology.
From Digital Assistants to Intelligent Partners
The earliest virtual assistants like Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa responded only when spoken to. They were reactive. Today’s personal AI systems, powered by advanced large language models (LLMs), are contextual, predictive and adaptive. Platforms such as Apple Intelligence, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI’s GPT models, and on-device AI chips like Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite are driving this transformation. Apple Intelligence is built around on-device processing with a privacypreserving cloud extension, Gemini is positioned as Google’s new AI assistant across Android and the web, while Copilot is being rolled out as a personal AI companion across Windows, mobile and Microsoft 365. These systems can analyse your behaviour (where you grant permission), understand routines and offer help without waiting for prompts.
Instead of saying:
“Set a reminder for the meeting.” Your AI may ask:

more personalised. Apple, Google and Microsoft all highlight on-device processing and tighter privacy controls as central to their next-generation AI experiences.
2. Multimodal Understanding
Modern AI can interpret text, voice, images and sometimes video in a single flow. That means your assistant can read a document, analyse a photo, draft an email and summarise a meeting — all without switching tools.
3. Memory and Personalisation
The latest AI systems can (when users enable it) retain context about past conversations, preferred writing tone, travel habits, grocery preferences or fitness goals. This allows them to become your assistant, not just an assistant.
“Should I prepare notes for your 3 PM meeting with the marketing team?”
This shift from command-based AI to proactive AI is the real revolution.
AI That Understands You, Not Just Your Tasks
Personal AI operates on three major trends:
1. On-Device Intelligence
New AI laptops and smartphones process more of your sensitive data directly on the device instead of sending everything to the cloud. This makes AI faster, more secure and
How Personal AI Is Changing Daily Life
Work & Productivity
AI can schedule meetings, prepare presentations, rewrite emails, analyse spreadsheets, generate design layouts and even draft reports based on voice notes or bullet points.
Health & Lifestyle
Personal AI can help track habits, remind you to move or hydrate, organise health records or explain complex medical documents in plain language — always subject to the user’s
consent and local regulations. Creativity
From music composition to video editing, AI can produce first drafts of scripts, visuals, captions or soundtracks, freeing creators to focus on style, emotion and refinement.
Your assistant can create personalised itineraries, track bookings, manage check-ins and even translate menus or conversations in real time. With every update, AI becomes less like a tool and more like a digital co-pilot.
The Privacy Question
As AI becomes more personalised, concerns about surveillance and misuse are valid. Major companies now emphasise a “privacy-first” approach in their marketing and technical designs — for example, by keeping more processing on-device, requiring explicit opt-ins for personalisation, allowing users to clear AI memory, and publishing clearer data-use policies. Apple’s Private Cloud Compute model for Apple Intelligence is one prominent example of this direction. The details differ between platforms, but the trend is clear: users are being given more control over how much their AI is allowed to remember and use.
The next generation of personal AI will be device-agnostic. Your assistant will move with you — from laptop to phone to smart glasses to car dashboard — carrying context seamlessly. Google is already extending Gemini from phones to cars, TVs and wearables, while Microsoft and others are working toward assistants that follow you across apps and screens.
It will know your routines, help you make decisions, reduce digital clutter and streamline the tasks you dislike doing. Your phone won’t be the centre of your digital world anymore. Your AI will be. For the first time, technology won’t just remember what you said — it will start to understand what you mean.

When the International Chess Federation (FIDE) confirmed that the FIDE World Cup 2025 would be held in Goa, it wasn’t just a win for chess — it was a turning point for India’s sports tourism narrative. For the first time in 23 years, the country is hosting this flagship knockout tournament, and Goa now finds itself at the centre of global chess attention.
According to FIDE’s official regulations, the World Cup is being held in Goa from 30 October to 27 November 2025, bringing together 206 players from around 80 countries, all competing for a USD 2 million prize fund and three coveted spots in the 2026 Candidates Tournament, the gateway to the next World Championship match. A Historic Return — and a New Image for Goa
The tournament’s opening in Taleigao’s Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium marked the World Cup’s return to India after more than two decades, with top names like D. Gukesh, R. Praggnanandhaa, Wesley So and Anish Giri in the field.
At the inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a message to participants, called it a proud moment that the World Cup had come back to the country where the ancient game of chaturanga was born, and
described Goa as a fitting stage whose calm mirrors the quiet intensity of chess.
For Goa, the optics matter. Long known globally for its beaches and nightlife, the state is now deliberately repositioning itself as a serious host for high-profile international sport. State agencies like the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs and the Sports Authority of Goa have framed the World Cup as part of a larger push to make Goa a multi-sport destination, building on events such as the National Games 2023, IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, and the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Goa Challenge.
A Trophy, an Anthem and a Message Symbolism has also been carefully crafted. The tournament’s trophy has been christened the Viswanathan Anand Trophy, honouring India’s five-time world champion, and features a peacock-inspired design that nods to national identity.
In October, Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant unveiled the official logo and anthem of the World Cup. The anthem, titled “It’s Your Move” and sung by Daler Mehndi, reinforces the event’s blend of tradition and modern energy and features prominent appearances by Indian chess stars.
Sawant has repeatedly underlined that events like the World Cup strengthen both
tourism and sporting culture, saying that Goa is honoured to host such a prestigious tournament and that “the government of Goa will continue to support and encourage international and national sporting events like this.”
Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte has echoed that message, arguing that Goa must move beyond a purely beach-focused image and treat sports tourism as a key growth avenue alongside eco- and heritage-based experiences.
Sports Tourism, Upgraded
The World Cup has already begun to validate that vision. The event is drawing players, coaches, delegates, media and fans for nearly a month — a visitor profile that fills hotels, uses premium services and spends across local businesses. Officials and industry bodies have highlighted that such events help increase high-value tourist footfall while showcasing Goa’s upgraded infrastructure, from indoor arenas to hospitality and transport.
FIDE, for its part, has noted that conditions at the World Cup meet its standards, with senior officials praising the effort put into organisation and the warm reception from the state.
The FIDE World Cup 2025 in Goa is more than a marquee event on the chess calendar. It is a live demonstration of how a tourismheavy state can reimagine its identity — from a holiday postcard to a serious, repeat host for global sport.
As the world’s best players fight through eight gruelling knockout rounds on Goan soil, they’re not just deciding who moves one step closer to the world title. They’re also helping prove that India — and Goa in particular — can deliver world-class sporting experiences that match its hospitality, culture and ambition, move for move.

As per the new rules, new GST registration applications, (subject to some conditions) will be processed based on data analysis and risk parameters, and registrations will be grantedelectronically by the common portal, within three working days from the date ofsubmission of application, without manual human intervention.

There are various thresholds or trigger events which can require a business to register for GST Some businesses opt for GST registration simply because it is more economical as they can claim the input credit on the purchases with GST. So, there is always a need for a variety of business to register under GST.
intervention and procedural issues. Hence, in the recent GST c o u n c i l m e e t i n g , i t w a s announced that a simplified and automated GST registration mechanism will be launched. The same has been made effective from 1st November 2025.
businesses. One of the caveats is that such taxpayers cannot obtain another GSTIN in another state, under same PAN, if they have opted for the above scheme.
If they want to withdraw from the scheme for any reason: i.e. if their GST chargeable to registered businesses is due to cross Rs 2.5 lacs per month, or if they want to obtain a GSTIN in another state, then they can withdraw from the scheme and do the required compliances.
Thus, the main intent of this scheme is to enable quick and smooth GS registration to b u s i n e s s e s w h i c h a r e predominantly Business to Consumer i.e. B2C and have less than Rs 2.5 lacs GST value being passed on to Business to Business i.e. B2B customers. This enables such small businesses to obtain quick GST registration, without hassles and start business as soon as possible.
CA Gaurav Kenkre is a CA in practice for the last 11 years. He is a regular speaker at v a r i o u s p r o f e s s i o n a l organizations, trade bodies, MNCs and Government b o d i e s H e a l s o w r i t e s regularly in local as well as national publications. Besides this he holds various positions in bodies such as ICAI, GCCI, College bodies, Rotary etc.
A t t h e s a m e t i m e , t h e Government is also incentivised t o h a v e a s m a n y p e o p l e registered under GST as possible. As the number of GST registered businesses increases, the GST collections go up, thus leading to higher tax revenues. Once tax revenues go up, this gives the Government more fiscal space to reduce the GST rates (as seen in recent months). This has a ripple effect on growth, consumption, and eventually more GST collections, thus kickstarting a positive cycle.
However, it was noted that, even t h o u g h o b t a i n i n g a G S T registration is a must for a business and also advantageous for the Government, the actual journey towards getting a registration was very time consuming due to manual
As per the new rules, new GST registration applications, (subject to some conditions) will be processed based on data analysis and risk parameters, and r e g i s t r a t i o n s w i l l b e grantedelectronically by the common portal, within three working days from the date ofsubmission of application, w i t h o u t m a n u a l h u m a n intervention.
One of the core conditions to get this fast-track registration is that the applicant must declare that his total output tax liability on supply of goods or services or both made toregistered persons does not exceed Rs 2.5 lacs in total, per month Only such businesses would be allowed under this scheme.
This move is expected to cover a l m o s t 9 4 % o f t h e n e w registration applications, thus making life easy for such
This one move will definitely help Ease of Doing Business rather Ease of Starting a Business, as it has been seen in the past that certain times, it used to take months to get a simple GST registration processed. With this n e w a u t o m a t e d s

2026 will be pivotal. Infrastructure projects are connecting villages and investors faster than any realtor could. Tourism is shifting from seasonal chaos to year-round culture. And the question everyone is asking is..
There was a time when Goa was a postcard sunsets, susegad afternoons, and the slow rhythm of a place that refused to grow up.
Today, the postcard has turned into a mood board — luxury villas, surf cafés, private members' clubs, farm-to-table everything, and people paying more for an annual school fee than an entire apartment cost here twenty years ago.
And here's the thing: neither version of Goa is wrong. Goa isn't changing — it's evolving. 2025 has been the year Goa finally stopped being seen as a holiday destination and became something bigger: a lifestyle economy. People aren't coming here to escape life anymore — they're designing life here.
THE NEW GOA IDENTITY
Prashant is the founder of TPB, a boutique real estate consultancy in Goa, focussing on ultra luxury homes He moved to Goa from Gurgaon in 2019 after his daughter developed breathing issues.
You can feel the shift everywhere. Architects are talking about climate, sustainability, and heritage instead of marble slabs and gold taps. Chefs are building menus around soil, seasonality, and local producers — not just imported truffles. Even nightlife has matured: the loudest statement now is a playlist curated, not a DJ blasted. Goa's priorities are changing —
and with them, its people. WHO IS CALLING GOA HOME NOW?
The new Goan resident isn't just wealthy. They're intentional. Many are parents who moved because Delhi smog wasn't worth another winter. Some are founders who traded boardrooms for breezy work-from-balcony calls. Others are global nomads who realised the world's best luxury is space and sanity.
C o m m u n i t y i s n o l o n g e r accidental — it's curated. Private clubs, farmers' collectives, supper clubs, and co-working retreats are shaping networks that go beyond “where are you staying?” to “how are you living?”
LUXURY IS BEING REDEFINED
Goa isn't selling square feet anymore — it's selling values.
True luxury now looks like: A home that breathes, not one sealed with glass.
Food that comes from someone you know — not someplace you Googled.
Time — not calendars filled to the brim.
In a world constantly speeding up, Goa is the beautiful countera r g u m e n t : live slower, but live deeper. THE NEXT CHAPTER
Infrastructure projects are connecting villages and investors faster than any realtor could Tourism is shifting from seasonal chaos to year-round culture. And the question everyone is asking is: Can Goa grow without losing itself?
The answer depends on us. If we can build with sensitivity, invest with stewardship, and live with respect — then the Goa we're becoming will be even more extraordinary than the Goa we remember.
Not a postcard. Not a product. But a place with soul — preserved, evolved, and proudly unique. And that Goa is my home.

Foods that naturally support cortisol, insulin, and estrogen balance
Hormones decide more than we realise our energy, hunger, sleep, metabolism, skin, mood and even how well we handle stress. While lifestyle, sleep, genetics and age all play major roles, what we eat can strongly support the body’s natural hormonal rhythm. The goal is not to “hack” hormones, but to create the right internal environment for balance. Here’s a science-backed guide to foods that support three of the most influential hormones for both men and women: cortisol, insulin, and estrogen.
1. CORTISOL: YOUR STRESS & SURVIVAL HORMONE
Cortisol keeps you alert, regulates blood sugar, and responds when your body p e r c e i v e s d a n g e r . B u t chronically elevated cortisol — often from poor sleep, long work hours or emotional stress — can affect mood, digestion and metabolism.
Hormone-Friendly Foods for Cortisol
Complex carbohydrates (oats, brown rice, sweet potatoes) Help stabilise blood sugar, reducing the spikes that trigger
cortisol release.
Vitamin C–rich foods (oranges, guavas, bell peppers)
Research shows vitamin C supports healthy cortisol response during stress.
Omega-3 rich foods (walnuts, flaxseeds, fatty fish)
Known to support the body’s stress-regulation pathways.
H e r b a l t e a s ( c h a m o m i l e , ashwagandha tea)
These do not “lower cortisol” directly, but support relaxation and calmer nervous system activity.
Avoiding Cortisol Triggers
Excess caffeine, irregular meals and very high-sugar foods can c o n t r i b u t e t o c o r t i s o l fluctuations.
2. INSULIN: THE MASTER REGULATOR OF BLOOD SUGAR
Insulin helps move sugar from the bloodstream into cells for energy. When the body struggles to use insulin efficiently — often due to ultra-processed foods, sugary drinks or long sedentary periods — blood sugar swings become more frequent.
Hormone-Friendly Foods for Insulin
High-fibre fruits & vegetables (berries, apples, greens)
Slow glucose absorption and support steady blood sugar.
(broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower)
Provide compounds that help the b o d y p r o c e s s e s t r o g e n efficiently.
Fermented foods (yogurt, kimchi, buttermilk)
A healthy gut supports hormone metabolism.
Whole soy foods (tofu, tempeh, soybeans)
Provide phytoestrogens, gentle plant compounds that can support hormonal equilibrium when eaten in moderation.
Estrogen Disruptors to Limit
Excess alcohol, smoking, highly processed meats, and trans fats may negatively influence hormonal health over time.
Eating for Hormones = Eating for Life
Lean proteins (eggs, lentils, chicken, tofu)
Help reduce post-meal sugar spikes.
Healthy fats (avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil)
Improve meal satisfaction and prevent over-snacking. Cinnamon & fenugreek
Studies suggest they may support healthy blood sugar management when included regularly in the diet.
Meal Habits That Support Insulin
Eating on time
Balanced meals (protein + fibre + healthy fats)
Limiting sugary beverages
These habits matter just as much as the food itself.
3. ESTROGEN: THE HORMONE
O F S T R E N G T H , M O O D & METABOLISM
Estrogen isn’t only a “women’s hormone ” Men also require healthy estrogen levels for b o n e s , h e a r t h e a l t h a n d metabolism. The key is balance, not too high or too low.
Hormone-Friendly Foods for Estrogen
Flaxseeds & sesame seeds
Contain lignans, natural plant c o m p o u n d s t h a t s u p p o r t estrogen balance.
C r u c i f e r o u s v e g e t a b l e s
There is no single “magic food” that balances hormones Instead, the body thrives on patterns:
Ÿ regular meals
Ÿ whole foods
Ÿ enough sleep
Ÿ adequate hydration
Ÿ movement
Ÿ minimal ultra-processed items
When these foundations are in place, cortisol, insulin and estrogen naturally work the way they’re supposed to — supporting stable energy, better mood, healthier skin and overall wellbeing.
Balanced hormones are not the result of restriction or extreme diets.
They are the outcome of consistent, gentle, supportive eating.
