Living Objects Collection Pure materials meet with pure forms and shapes. The Living Objects are abstract interior objects that have more than one function. Designed by Ólína Rögnudóttir for Icelandic design company FÓLK and made by skilled artisans in India from solid marble and brass. The objective with the design of the Living Objects was to develop sculptural objects that each has multiple functions, thus prolonging the lifespan of the product. Extending the product life-cycle of each object emphasizes the anti-

obsolescence of the product and promotes sustainability. Ólína Rögnudóttir focuses on sustainability in her design:

“I focus on experience, usability, purpose and environment. I think it’s important that the consumer understands where the product comes from, what it is made of and what fate the product will have when it has served its usefulness. These are the requirements I make for myself as both a designer and a consumer.” Ólína Rögnudóttir, designer of The Living Objects Collection
