elax and take care of yourself. Cracked feet, I know from wearing sandals all summer my feet can tend to be dry. Let’s look at an unusual way to help with dry and cracked feet. Mix 1 cup of Listerine or your favorite antiseptic mouthwash, 1 cup vinegar white or apple cider, 2 cups of warm water in a large basin or plastic container. Soak for 10 – 15 minutes then use a foot file or scrubby sponge to help remove the soften dead skin. You may have to repeat and double or triple the recipe as needed for your feet and the size of the container. Rub your feet with Vaseline or Vaseline lotion and wear socks to bed. Now that your feet are soft and relaxed let’s get you some sleep. Here’s some tips to help. • Simply submerge your face in the bathroom sink filled with cold water for 30 seconds to relax your nervous system and bring down your body temperature – perfect for sleeping. • Try singing yourself to sleep. This soothing action will help you drift off to sleep. • Curl your toes, yes this works. The repetitive motion releases built up tension. • Pat or rub your tummy. The

same techniques that work on a baby can be just as effective for an adult. Rub your tummy in a circular motion for a deep sleep. • The blue light that emanates from the electronic devices slows the production of melatonin, which is the fastest route to losing sleep. Experts recommend tuning out from the TV and iPhone at least two hours before we hit the sack. Wearing orange or ambertinted glasses while you use electronics before bed allows you to block out blue light and get a better night’s rest. Now that you’re rested you can stay alert throughout your day by chewing mint gum. The act of chewing increases both heart rate and blood flow to the brain, and refreshing minty flavors stimulate the nervous system. Chewing warms up the brain and has been shown to increase productivity. Certain scents have been proven to reduce fatigue and increase your sense of alertness. Citrus makes you less anxious, rosemary oil will beef up your memory, and cinnamon and peppermint will motivate and energize you. Until next time relax, enjoy and be thankful… PAGE
