WATSON CLINIC

Announces New Urgent Care South Facility

In recent years, walk-in care options have become increasingly popular. When people are sidelined by a minor illness or injury, they want the convenience of immediate care options without the high costs or hassles associated with a traditional emergency room visit. A consistent innovator since 1941, Watson Clinic recognized this developing trend early. Located on their main campus at 1600 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland, Watson Clinic Urgent Care Main has long served the needs of patients and non-patients alike who needed expert walk-in care. The success of this department inspired the opening of XpressCare Highlands, a highly popular segment of Watson Clinic’s beautiful Highlands location at 2300 E. County Road 540A in South Lakeland. “There’s no predicting when an illness or an injury might occur,” says Watson Clinic urgent care specialist Jarett A. Gregory, DO. “When it does, people want to have the peace of mind in knowing they can receive immediate care they can trust.” As has been their custom from the beginning, Watson Clinic has swiftly responded to the needs of the community by announcing an additional urgent care facility. Scheduled to open in January 2020, Watson Clinic Urgent Care South will offer the same caliber and breadth of services as these other locations, and then some. The facility will feature a staff of board-certified physicians who all possess emergency medical experience and who are each boardcertified in family medicine, internal medicine or pediatrics. Their services are complemented by highly professional care team members. The conditions they treat will include colds, flus, coughs, earaches, small lacerations, bladder infections, sore throats, minor injuries, upper respiratory infections, dehydration and much more. “Oftentimes, someone won’t know for sure if their illness is a minor emergency or indicative of a more serious event,” says Dr. Gregory, who will be part of the Watson Clinic Urgent Care South team upon opening. “Our facility will be equipped to expedite the transfer of patients who actually require hospital care, including a state-of-the-art I-Stat troponin which helps to process patients who are experiencing the initial signs of a heart attack.”
