MUST-TRY DISHES: For Plant City residents who have yet to try The Wooden Spoon, Rousso has a few dishes he would recommend: Cinnamon Roll Pancakes: Two pancakes for $6.50 or choose a side of bacon, ham or sausage for $8.50 Fried Mushrooms: $5.99 Philly Cheesesteak: Ribeye, Provolone cheese, onions, mushroom and bell peppers on a roll for $8.99 Pork Tenderloin Sandwich: Served fried with lettuce, tomato, and mayo for $8.99 Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich: A 6-ounce patty with lettuce, tomato and mayo for $12.99. At The Wooden Spoon, all kids meals are $6.00 or less. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs and bacon, French toast and more. For lunch, the restaurant’s youngest patrons can choose from Spaghetti, Cheeseburger and Fries, Chicken Strips with Fries, Fish and Chips, and Macaroni and Cheese. Kids have their choice of juice or milk for $1.99 or a free soft drink. Although the restaurant is relatively new, Plant City residents are impressed by the welcoming and attentive front-of-the-house wait staff, the atmosphere and the food served at The Wooden Spoon Diner. “Good comfort food. Brunch/lunch place. Saw some familiar faces there. Friendly service and food arrived timely…” said Angela Hays. “This is exactly what Plant City needed: A great hometown restaurant. Our waitress was Julie the best waitress ever. Really wonderful food, all of the staff is awesome! Will definitely be going back, and bringing the family!!” said Shelby Lindsey. Becky Frost rated the restaurant five stars, sharing: “Great service and very friendly management. We had fried mushrooms, Burger, and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Everything was amazing.
