all is officially here. Windows and doors are open and Halloween costumes are the buzz! I actually like Fall, but always feel it’s just here to try to sneak Winter in without us noticing. I guess you could say that I am a little suspicious of Fall’s motives, but can’t help but like it since it’s pretty and brings Halloween with it… In any case, it’s here and with it all the festivals and activities one County could possibly hope for! In addition to all the fun going on, it’s also Election time. I feel a responsibility to take this opportunity to encourage our readers to go out and Vote on November 2nd. While here at FOCUS Magazine we always TRY to stay away from hot topics, like politics, in our editorial, I feel very passionate about the act of voting. Everyone likes to feel their voice, their opinion, counts… and voting is the most basic way to make your say. This is one of your most fundamental rights as an American… Exercise it! I also urge you to make informed decisions when you vote. Don’t fall prey to the slander ads or who has the prettiest signs on the highway. Do your research and cast your vote for the candidate who represents the values and matters you feel passionate about. The same with issues presented on the ballot. Do your research and make enlightened choices. Also, I want to draw your attention to the fact that we have brought back “Talk of the Town” as part of our Local sections, both North Lake and South Lake. Be sure to check this out on pages 10 & 16 of this issue. This is a great spot for us to give mention to residents and businesses who have something notable to share each month. Please send me your submissions for “Talk of the Town” at heather@lakecountyfocus.com. I hope you all have a great month and enjoy this cooler weather. I’ll try not to whine about being cold too much! Look for FOCUS at all the great events going on this month, which you can learn about in our Event Calendar (page 48). Remember to Vote on November 2nd.
