elcome to FM Business Daily’s firstever supplement, a review of the FM Showcase that took place at Birmingham NEC from 25 to 27 April. Our review spans four industry events that were co-located at the NEC: The Workplace Event, Health & Safety Event, Fire Safety Event, and The Security Event. In total, more than 600 organisations attended the showcase, which provided a comprehensive overview of the range of FM services on offer, from hard services such as construction, energy management and maintenance through to soft services such as cleaning, fleet management, fire, security and more. The Workplace Event, an evolution of the popular The Facilities Event, united the leading thinkers and organisations from the world of facilities, workplace strategy and design, interiors, furniture, real estate and technology. The show offered an ideal platform for organisations to elevate their workplace performance and strategy. As the fastest growing event in its sector, The Health & Safety Event showcases the latest products and services from the industry and is the UK meeting place for anyone responsible for running a safe and efficient workplace. The Fire Safety Event was the largest gathering of UK fire safety suppliers this year and welcomed a host of companies showcasing their brands, products, and solutions to the market. Meanwhile, The Security Event showcased the world’s leading security brands, uniting installers, integrators, manufacturers, distributors and end-users for a comprehensive offering. Since our formation in January, it has been a whirlwind few months for FM Business Daily and we’re very excited about what the future holds for our business. We’ve already seen a phenomenal response to our daily newsletter, where we send out the news, views and opinions from the sector to more than 200,000 industry influencers, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, leaders and managers. We already have the biggest qualified data set (list of contacts) of any similar business media in the sector and we expect this to grow further in the coming months. It is very exciting to be part of this journey and I firmly believe we will be a force for good in the

A coming together of some of the sector leaders The four events took place from 5-7 April 2022 and saw over 3,000 workplace and FM professionals meet in Hall 3a and 4 of the NEC. In addition, there were 30 expert speakers and over 100 exhibitors. It was the ideal way for professionals working in – or in connection with – the FM sector to discover the latest products and services to optimise their own facility and workplace performance. With visitors able to learn about anything from CAFM to catering, cleaning to security, health and wellbeing to interiors and more, the Workplace Event offered people the opportunity to find a supplier to help elevate their workplace strategy and performance.


he Workplace Event series, which takes place annually at the Birmingham NEC, is home to some of the best in workplace and facilities innovation. This forward-focused event is the place where the industry meets to be inspired, share best practice and source leading suppliers to create more effective working environments, employee experience, and accelerate organisational performance. FOUR ARE BETTER THAN ONE The exhibition, organised by Nineteen Group, is actually a series of four events: The Workplace Event, The Fire Safety Event, The Security Event and The Health & Safety Event. The co-location of these events provided a comprehensive offering to the full buying chain, bringing the industry together under one roof.

LEARNING SOMETHING NEW The Knowledge Hub was the centrepiece of the entire show, where some of the leading figures and organisations from across the industry explained the trends that are shaping workplace experience. Visitors were able to learn about how employee expectations are shifting, the digitisation of the workplace, sustainable workplaces, hybrid working and more. At the intersection of The Workplace Event and The Health & Safety Event was a village called The Wellbeing Recharge Zone. Here, both visitors and exhibitors could come to rest and restore themselves with interactive wellbeing initiatives, quiet spaces, and the opportunity to speak to leaders in the field about how workplace wellbeing can make a difference to organisations. As a whole, this proved to be the only UK event to bring together professionals from multiple disciplines that supports workplace experience – and to network with practitioners from facilities, HR, technology, real estate, design, architecture, consultants and advisors to share best practice, expertise and ideas through their learning experience.
