PARKS & REC INSIGHTS Flower Mound Parks & Trails Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month. In 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives officially mandated July as “Park and Recreation Month.” So spend some time this summer utilizing the great parks and trails Flower Mound has to offer! The Parks and Recreation Division maintains close to 1,000 acres of parkland. This includes approximately 60 miles of multi-purpose trails that link together parks, neighborhoods, schools, and businesses, and twelve miles of equestrian trails. There are also 12 miles of equestrian trails and 14 miles of unpaved hike and bike trails for public use located along the northern shores of Grapevine Lake. Many of our neighborhood parks offer a variety of playgrounds, covered picnic shelters, cooking grills, park benches, and basketball play pads. Residents also enjoy numerous youth and adult baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields, and public tennis courts. For more information about the Town’s Park and Trail system, please visit www.flower-mound.com/parks.

The 22 RV Camp site options include partially shaded locations, lake views, 50-amp electricity, water, and sewer hook-ups, and sites of varying lengths to accommodate your vehicle. Each camp site offers a barbque pit, fire ring, and picnic area with table.

Cabins

There are four different cabin options to choose from: one bedroom, one bedroom with loft, one bedroom with bunk beds, and ADA models. Each cabin includes a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and beautiful lake views from the porch.

Recreation Opportunities

Enjoy the nearly 8,000 acre Grapevine Lake, with opportunities for fishing, recreational boating, camping, hiking, biking, nature watching, or just relaxing. Among some of the most popular features for outdoor enthusiasts are the natural-surface 9-mile Northshore Trail and 4-mile Knob Hill Trail along the lakeshore.
