The Parks and Recreation Division offers a variety of daily, monthly, and annual fees at the CAC. No contracts or initiation fees, affordable rates, and a great location. Visit the CAC for a free tour! Daily Admission

Membership includes age appropriate access to the gymnasium, indoor pool, outdoor waterpark, indoor track, fitness floor, chill zone, and discounts on programs, special events, and rentals. The CAC has the following amenities: • Fitness Floor: more than 30 pieces of cardio equipment, 17 Cybex selectorized machines, walking/running track, a Smith machine, an Adaptive Motion Trainer, and big screen TV’s. • Gymnasium: wood floor courts for volleyball, basketball, badminton, and pickleball. • Indoor Pool: eleven 25-yard lap lanes, diving board, waterslide, a toddler spray area, and AquaClimb climbing walls. • Outdoor Waterpark (seasonal): a zero-entry level activity pool, two large waterslides, lazy river, vortex, water play features, three tot slides, and a 60-gallon dumping bucket. • Tot Drop: designated area for infants and child’s restroom, for children aged 6 months-9 years. • Chill Zone: air hockey, two pool tables, ping pong, foosball table, gaming stations, wireless internet, and big screen TV’s. • Multipurpose Rooms for programming and private rentals. • Online membership renewals and program registrations.

SPECIAL EVENTS NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Local Competition SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 • 10:00AM-12:00PM GERAULT PARK, 1200 GERAULT ROAD Boys and girls will be allowed one punt, one pass, and one place kick. Scores are determined on distance and accuracy for the three events, with the winners determined by the highest cumulative score. The top finisher in each of the five age/gender groups will advance to a sectional competition. Registration for this FREE event begins at 9:30am. All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate to the competition for age verification. No football shoes, cleats, or turf shoes will be permitted, only soft-soled sneakers will be allowed. Divisions:

Fang-tacular Movie Fest Participants will enjoy an outdoor family friendly Halloween movie in the Town’s Gerault Park. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and stretch out under the nighttime sky! Food trucks will be on hand with great food available for purchase. Movie will begin at 7 p.m.

Experience Flower Mound camping by pitching a tent at Twin Coves Park. Various family games and activities will be provided along with a catered dinner and breakfast. Bring a tent, tent decorations, sleeping bags, bug spray, and flashlights. The “Most Creative tent will win the tent decorating contest and a prize! Cabins and RV slots are an additional charge and must be booked separately. Pre-registration is required by Monday, September 11 at 12:00pm. Price is per family up to 6 people. SPECIAL EVENTS Veterans Day Ceremony

A family picnic will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm with free hot dogs, cake, and lemonade. From 2:00pm3:00pm, the Town will host a Veterans Day Ceremony, which will include a Veterans Review where local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and ROTC units parade before the Veterans in uniform. Pumpkin Dive

CHRISTMAS EVENTS Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony Saturday, December 9, 6 to 9 p.m.

Join the Town in celebrating its 28th Annual Christmas Parade! This year’s theme will be “Christmas Around the World.” The parade will be at night, with lighted floats parading down Spinks Road to Gerault Park. At Gerault Park, there will be a tree lighting ceremony with choir performances, pictures with Santa Claus, carriage rides, kids’ activities, petting zoo, local vendors, food trucks, and more. Dress warmly and bring the family to this fun, FREE event!

CAC Birthday Party Packages The Parks and Recreation Division offers different options for hosting parties at the CAC, including party packages and room rental opportunities for birthdays, end-of-season sports team parties, or other celebrations. Parties will be held for one hour in either the indoor party room or one of the outdoor waterpark shade pavilions. Each attendee and one parent will receive a free swim pass for the day of the party. The basic party package costs $165 for members, $185 for non-members and includes the party area and host (one hour), half-sheet cake, 16 ice cream cups (vanilla or chocolate), 16 drinks, 16 general party favors, evites, and all paper goods (tablecloth, paper plates, cups, napkins, and utensils). Creative Movement for Parent & Me

Participants will develop gross motor skills and music appreciation through various song and dance activities. Emphasizing fun, students will be introduced to ballet, tumbling, and beginning sport skills. Adults are encouraged to participate with the child to ensure successful learning experiences. Ballet & Tap

These classes develop poise and coordination while teaching students the fundamentals of ballet and tap. Classes will create group interaction skills and support participants’ self-esteem and positive image. Children will also develop rhythm and music appreciation skills. PRESCHOOL Soccer - Kickin’ With Parents

By playing fun games that include specific actions and movements, children gain greater body control while simultaneously enhancing balance, coordination, and general motor skills. These clinics will provide technical instruction in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) plus starts, turns, and finishes. Waterpark Lifeguard Training Course

This American Red Cross course certifies participants in lifeguard training, waterpark lifeguard training, first aid, and CPR for the professional rescuer. The purpose of this course is to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in pools and waterparks. Prerequisites are required and will be conducted on the first day of class. Participants unable to complete the prerequisites may request a refund, minus a $50 administrative fee. A lunch break will be provided. There is an $35 certification fee, payable on the American Red Cross website. SENIORS IN MOTION SIM Memberships

Annual memberships can be purchased at the Senior Center courtesy desk. For Flower Mound residents, memberships are $10 per year. For non-residents, memberships are $20 per year. Non-members may also purchase a day pass to the Flower Mound Senior Center, for $1 for residents and $2 for non-residents.

Lunch Program

The Town of Flower Mound Seniors In Motion program offers lunch for seniors 50 and older. Metroport Meals on Wheels will be providing and serving the food from local restaurants on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lunch begins at noon and is $4 per person. All tennis programs including lessons, leagues, clinics, classes, drills, tournaments, and camps are conducted by USPTA certified teaching professional Frank Ford and staff. Students must bring one can of unopened balls to the first class of each session. Minimum of four participants required. Registration must be made three days in advance of the first day of class. Leagues: No partner needed for progressive doubles leagues. Participants play three sets, one set against each opponent, and accumulate points on a weekly basis. Leagues will be limited to a maximum number of participants in each division, and are filled on a first person registered basis. Floating leagues allow players to schedule match day and times to fit their schedules.

Create a Fall Monarch Butterfly Garden

Discover what you can do to support conservation of the Monarch butterfly, and learn simple steps to create a Monarch Waystation for your landscape! Carol Clark, Monarch Watch Conservation Specialist, will discuss plant choices, design considerations, installation, and share sample plans. Recreation programs are available for all ages, and select programs are open to players who are 7 years of age and older. FMYSA offers both a spring and fall season each year.

Greater Lewisville Area Soccer Association www.glasasoccer.org, 972.221.4623 The Greater Lewisville Area Soccer Association (GLASA) provides recreational soccer opportunities for children ages U5-U19. GLASA offers both a spring and fall soccer program to citizens living in southern Denton County.

Cross Timbers Sports www.crosstimbersymca.org, 972.539.9622 Cross Timbers Sports (CTS) provides basketball and volleyball leagues for youth Pre-K through 8th grade. CTS offers both recreational and competitive programs in both basketball and volleyball. CTS offers a winter basketball program as well as a fall and spring volleyball program.

Flower Mound Lacrosse Association www.flowermoundlacrosse.org Flower Mound Lacrosse Association (FMLA) is the Town’s lacrosse provider. FMLA offers lacrosse program for boys 1st-8th grade, and girls 4th-8th grade. FMLA offers a spring program, February through May.

Flower Mound Youth football Association www.fmyfa.com, 469.767.1743 Flower Mound Youth Football Association (FMYFA) is the Town’s youth football provider. The FMYFA offers flag football for boys ages 3 to 6 and tackle football for ages 7 to 12. FMYFA also offers recreational cheer for ages 3 to 12. FMYFA offers a fall program beginning in September.

KEEP FLOWER MOUND BEAUTIFUL Fall Trash Bash & Environmental Education Fair

September 23 • 8:30am-1:00pm Flower Mound High School • 3411 Peters Colony Rd All ages are welcome to join a morning of cleaning, recycling, and healthy fun. Our clean-up will be at various parks, trails, waterways, and roadways throughout Flower Mound. Giveaways, door prizes, and prizes for most trash and recyclables collected will also take place. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Online registration is available at www.kfmb.org. The Environmental Education Fair will provide positive environmental education booths and kids’ activities along with an inflatable obstacle course and climbing wall. The fair is open to all ages and participation in the trash cleanup is not required for attendance. We are also pet friendly! Document shredding will be provided to residents, along with electronic waste recycling by Best Buy and small housewares and clothing recycling by Christian Community Action.

Individual, Group, & Monthly Clean-Ups

Join KFMB every month for a small local clean up. These events are held every third Saturday of the month from 9:30am-11:30am. Visit the KFMB website for more details. Do you need to complete National Honor Society or Community Service hours but can’t make it to our monthly clean ups? We have created a program to allow volunteers to help according to their schedule and with the ability to track their hours through texting and online reporting for verification. Email us for additional information at info@kfmb.org. Do you have a large group looking for a volunteer opportunity? We can accommodate you according to the day you choose!

Lend-A-Hand Community Enhancement Initiative This program was created to help homeowners that are under threat of code violations due to illness, loss of income and/or age. The program includes work days throughout the year as the needs arise and funding is available. Please contact us if you would like to serve on the Lend A Hand committee, would like to be updated as projects are planned, or know of a resident that needs help with repairs or maintenance on the outside of their home.

Help the Town commemorate Dorothy’s battle with MS by participating in the annual Dorothy’s Dash 5K race and Kid’s K. Former Town of Flower Mound employee Dorothy Walkup, lost her battle with Multiple Sclerosis on November 16, 2004. Net proceeds will benefit the Texas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Dorothy’s honor.

Categories/Awards Awards will be given to the male and female winners as well as the first three finishers in each age category. All Kid’s K participants will receive a medal. There will be no duplication of awards. 5K Categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
