BUSINESS EAGLE BENEFITS

EAGLE BUSINESSES

The Florida Justice Association (FJA) is the state’s leading civil justice advocate. With just over 3,000 members, FJA is dedicated to protecting, defending, and strengthening the state’s civil justice system. FJA and its members are committed to safeguarding the Constitutional rights of Florida’s hard-working people and help them stand up to big corporations and hold them accountable in court. FJA welcomes the many EAGLE businesses that have chosen to step forward and stand beside us and other consumer advocates as we strive to shield Florida consumers from dangerous special-interest legislation. EAGLE business leaders understand the important role the courts play in protecting the free market from the manipulation of bad actors. EAGLE business leaders have a deep understanding that profits are protected only when products are safe, and protecting Florida consumers is good business.

CORPORATE LEADERSHIP EAGLE businesses’ financial contributions support the Florida Justice Association’s continuing legislative, political, and public educational efforts to preserve consumers’ rights and protect people’s Constitutionally guaranteed access to Florida’s civil justice system. Among the most important contributions made by our EAGLE businesses are the steadfast examples of enduring moral courage and responsible corporate leadership they demonstrate to the rest of Florida’s business community. EAGLE businesses set the highest standard for consumer support, leading the way to promote outstanding corporate citizenship, responsibility, and accountability.

RECOGNIZING EAGLE BUSINESSES EAGLE businesses are recognized in FJA publications and the FJA website, so members across the state know exactly which businesses have joined FJA in our fight to preserve the civil justice system.

Advertiser agrees to hold harmless and indemnify FJA and its directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors and assigns from and against any and all loss, damage, liability, claims, costs, causes of action, judgments, payments, expenses, including expenses for investigation and attorneys' fees, which in any way result or arise from the acts or omissions of the advertiser, its directors, officers, agents, employees, parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, assigns or insurers in connection with the advertisement. Advertiser agrees to FJA’s current advertising policies which are incorporated by this reference as a part of this contract. Advertiser agrees that FJA’s maximum liability to advertiser for any error or omission by FJA in regard to the advertisement shall be limited to a refund to the advertiser of the amount paid by the advertiser for such erroneous or omitted advertisement. Advertiser agrees to check the first appearance of any advertisement for errors and to advise FJA immediately of any corrections. FJA does not accept listings promoting attorneys or law firms. FJA also discourages listings which emphasize large jury awards or settlements that otherwise appeal primarily to maximizing awards. FJA provides various platforms for businesses to communicate with our members, and we encourage fair and honest competition among all of our sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers. All of our sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers are expected to ensure that their respective marketing materials and other communications to FJA members comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

FJA Policy Regarding Non-Recourse Funding Companies The Florida Justice Association (FJA) reserves the right to add the below disclaimer to all future advertisements in FJA publications. Due to the requirement to include this disclaimer in all advertising, website advertising is not available to non-recourse funding companies at this time. All printed ads will need to be reviewed and approved by the FJA before publication. DISCLAIMER: An attorney should not discuss non-recourse advance funding with a client unless it is done in compliance with Florida Bar Ethics Opinion 00-3. The Florida Bar discourages the use of non-recourse advance funding companies. An attorney may provide a client with information about companies that offer non-recourse advance funding if it is in the client’s interest and done in compliance with Florida Bar Ethics Opinion 00-3. The individual lawyer is responsible for ensuring that his or her conduct is in compliance with the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar and comports with Florida Ethics Opinion 00-03. The Florida Justice Association recommends that attorneys who do provide names of non-recourse advance funding companies to clients should provide only names of companies that are in conformity with the guidelines contained in the agreement between the New York Attorney General and certain companies dated Feb. 17, 2005. The Florida Justice Association makes no determination or representation as to whether any particular non-recourse advance funding company is in conformity with Florida Bar rules or opinions, or any other guidelines.
