A FANTASTIC LINE-UP THIS SEASON

Welcome to the latest brochure and a season of fantastic shows.

You told us that you enjoyed my chat with Julia in the last issue, so let me introduce you to another member of our team, our Programme Manager, Tom. Tell us about your job

I’m responsible for booking the shows, making sure we’ve got a really good mix of genres so there’s something for everyone. Day-to-day, I look for new producers and productions, negotiate deals, and handle all the contracts behind the scenes. It’s a great balance of creativity and strategy.

What’s your favourite thing about working in the theatre?

We’re always working 12-18 months in advance and I love the excitement of confirming a fabulous production, and the amazing sense of anticipation

of it coming to life. And honestly, seeing a sold-out auditorium fill up before a performance never gets old. It’s such a rewarding feeling.

What’s your favourite show coming up this season?

That’s a tough one! I’m excited that as well as bringing us Murder at Midnight, Original Theatre has chosen to launch the UK tour of The Importance of Being Oscar right here at the Floral. And I’m over the moon that The Buddy Holly Story is coming back - it played to packed houses back in 2011 and was incredibly well-received. We’re in great company with prestigious venues on these tours, and it’s fantastic to share these shows with our local audience.

TALES FROM PARADISE HEIGHTS

A GRIPPING SERIES OF PLAYS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Brace yourself for series of six dramas, all set in the heart of a crumbling coastal community, a shattered, shuttered and forgotten seaside town called Paradise Heights
