2 - What is club promotion?  Club promotion is different than event promotion  You are responsible for bringing people  Club promoters make sure events are well attended, by people with the right kind of image  Two types of promoters: Image promoters and mass promoters As a promoter, you are responsible for attracting the right kind of a crowd to a club or party. What this means exactly depends on the type of promoter that you ultimately become (we will take a look at the different types of promotion later). In the world of nightlife, nothing looks worse than a club that is half empty, or that is full of the wrong kinds of people. (No one wants to hang out with that creepy bald guy who tries to grind his junk on every girl in sight). This is where club promoters come in. It is the promoter’s job to make sure that the venue is full of the right kind of people. People that help promote the clubs image as a cool place, which is fun and full of a lot of attractive people.

Club promotion is different than event promotion As a club promoter, you are contracted to bring people to an event – that is it! Unlike event promoters, You do not have to worry about hiring bartending and security staff, you do not have to book DJs or bands and most importantly, you have no financial risk if the event does not go well (although you won’t get paid if you fail to bring people). As a club promoter, you only worry about bringing people! But, you can’t bring just anyone.

You have to bring the right

people, people that fit the club’s desired image. Nothing kills a nightclub faster than a bad crowd. While every club promoter worries about bringing the right amount of people and the right kind of people, most promoters focus more on either bringing a high volume of people (mass promoters) or on bringing attractive people (image promoters). Two types of club promoters There are two basic kinds of promoters, image promoters and mass promoters.  Image promoters focus on bringing a small group of very attractive girls and a few attractive guys to help the club’s image. have a good looking crowd that the club desires. They are typically given free alcohol for themselves and their crowd as well as a VIP table. The number of people image promoters bring is less important than that those people are very good looking.  Mass promoters focus on bringing huge volumes of people. As many as 50 to 100 a night, people depending on the club that they work for. They are usually paid per head as a percentage of the cover charge, and may also be able to get a percentage of the bar sales at smaller venues. The quality of people that mass promoters bring is still important; they still have to be able to get past the door man. No one likes a club that is full creepy guys, or aggressive and rude people, or worse – people who get violent. We will take a closer look at what kind of people to bring later in the guide. For now let’s talk more about what a sub promoter does and why it is the best way for most people to get started promoting.
