A New Beginning lift or staircase. The Courtyard is the new build addition to the development and provides two new ground floor homes as well as a large three bedroom apartment which can be accessed by its own staircase or private lift. The original Coach House offers two individually accessed apartments. All homes share the use of Olton Court’s privately landscaped gardens and have been allocated secure and generous car parking behind the development’s gated entrance.

Olton Court was built in 1895 by a successful local business man, Daniel Hasluck, as a secluded family home originally surrounded by over twelve acres of fields and woods. Architecturally the house truly reflects the late Victorian style which essentially embraced a variety of influences – as evidenced by the house’s quirky decorative third floor tower, stone windows and stained glass decoration. The house was purchased by the Sisters of Our Lady of Compassion in 1903. Fleeing from France to escape religious persecution the sisters ran a much respected convent school for girls from the house until 1974, when the school was merged with St Peter’s. From that point, the sisters continued to use Olton Court as a retreat until its sale to Elegant Homes in summer 2007.

Situated in the heart of Solihull’s largest conservation area, Olton Court’s leafy location on St Bernard’s Road surrounded by beautiful Victorian and Edwardian houses with mature gardens and landscaping, is perfectly placed to benefit from all the local shopping, sporting and entertainment facilities of Solihull and Birmingham. The award winning 650,000 sq foot Touchwood shopping destination is only a short distance away with a vast choice of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as a three floor John Lewis department store. The development also benefits from a choice of excellent commuter links close at hand including Olton and Solihull railway stations which provide speedy access to Marylebone. Birmingham International Railway Station also gives fast access in approximately 80 minutes to London Euston.

Many of the house’s wonderful architectural features have remained untouched over the years and have become an integral part of its conversion into the apartments in the original house. Wherever possible, the original skirting, doors, dado and picture rails, cornices, windows and wood panelling have been saved and blended with high specification and modern design to create character accommodation fully equipped for today’s lifestyle expectations. Within the new build apartments, particular care has been taken to sympathetically blend their design with the historic elegance of Olton Court.

Offering a rare lifestyle opportunity to enjoy the grandeur of a Victorian gentleman’s residence – liberated from the worries of maintaining it - these unique luxury apartments truly offer a new beginning for Olton Court and its 21st century residents.
