ABOUT THE PRODUCERS

The Texas Rangers

Skyline Entertainment is a producer of high quality, commercially successful TV series (Silent Waters, Aspe and De Rodenburgs), features (The Intruder, Hell in Tangier, Germaine) and animated features such as Luke and Lucy & the Texas Rangers. Besides a local box office hit, the critically acclaimed The Intruder was shown at 15 international film festivals. Hell in Tangier was another major box office success in its home territory, with lead actor Filip Peeters receiving the Best Actor award at the Montreal World Film Festival. Currently in different stages of production are the live-action feature Germaine (autumn 2011), the animated The Magic Crystal, as well as the eighth season of the popular crime TV series Aspe.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS Mark Mertens started his career in television where he worked on productions like top-rating series such as Our Happiness, Diamond, Spike, Good Luck Professor, Aspe and live-action features Everything Must Go, The Intruder and Hell in Tangier. His short Le petit blue marked his debut as a director. Luke and Lucy & the Texas Rangers is his feature debut. The Magic Crystal will be his second animated feature.

 Wim Bien

Dark City, Texas: the evil and mysterious Jim Parasite terrorizes the city and has concocted a plan to become the biggest and most powerful man in the world. He captures the Texas Rangers, but one of them manages to escape and calls upon Luke and Lucy for help. Together with their aunt and their two best friends, Luke and Lucy travel to Texas to become the new Texas Rangers, determined to put Parasite and his gang where they belong: in jail.

Based on the hugely popular original comic books created by Willy Vandersteen, this CG-animated feature film produced at a budget close to U$14 million will take you to the Wild Wild West.

Wim Bien started his career as a free-lance 2D, puppet and stop-motion animator in the mid 90s. He was involved in many animation projects for television, commercials, feature films, games, and more. In 2003, he worked for DisneyToon Studios on A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special and continued to collaborate with Hollywood’s major studios as a character animator on features like Ice Age 2 and The Ant Bully. After co-helming Luke and Lucy & the Texas Rangers, he went on directing cut scenes for games, in-game animations and commercials for clients like Mattel, Nihilistic and Sony Computer Entertainment America.
