District Membership: 600 Members
Service: 10,200 Hours
New Clubs: 7 Charters
Each year, the District Board outlines a series of 10+ goals they would like to see accomplished during their terms. For the 2020-21 service year, Governor Meit Dave and the rest of the District Board want to take a different approach--a focus solely on growth. The growth of our District will be showcased via three avenues: membership, service hours, and new club charters. By focusing on these three areas, we hope to better the District, our membership experience, and our communities. Our intent is to not underplay the importance of other potential focuses (Kiwanis Family events, fundraisers, socials, etc.); however, we believe that with an increase in membership and active, healthy clubs, we will in turn see a drastic increase in the aforementioned focuses. We, the District Board, believe that by honing in on the overarching topic of growth, we will be able to better serve our clubs and members. Any questions about our goals can be directed to Governor Meit at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please feel free to look at our issue of the Florida Circle Kapers to see updates on the goals we have set throughout this service year.
Governor's Message As you all may know, a Governor's Project is generally a specific type of service that the Governor is passionate about; however, when I was running for the position, there was only one thing on my mind: growth. While I do believe that service is the backbone of this organization, it is vital to me that service we do as a District is something that you know is not only impactful, but also something that is sustainable. I do not think that is feasible if I am asking you to focus on what I want to do. That is why I went the unconventional route of making my Governor's Project not focused on a type of service, but something that I know Florida needed: a reformation. My Governor's Project, Forging Florida's Future, focused heavily on setting up all District Board Members, Club Officers, and Clubs with the tools that they would need to succeed throughout the service year. In addition to all the resources that we have made available on the website (there will be more), I want to reinforce that all clubs will get the necessary attention from District Board Members to ensure that their clubs will grow. Just know that my sole purpose in office is to help you; please don't hesitate to reach out!
Yours in Service, Meit Dave
Black Lives Matter Statement To the Florida District of CKI: The Florida District Board of Circle K International condemns all acts of racism and inequality. Together we stand behind the Black Lives Matter movement and choose to support our black communities. Systematic oppression, injustice, and racial profiling have no room in our institutions. We encourage our membership to advocate for change by educating themselves on these grave issues. Our goal is to provide a safe space for members to discuss these topics as well as encourage the fundraising and outreach efforts of the movement. We want to start a conversation within the Florida District and encourage you to comment on: organizations to donate to petitions to sign other resources As members of a global community, we foster the service, leadership, and friendship of a diverse membership. We make it our mission to foster compassion and goodwill to reach humanity’s potential. Sincerely, The 2020-2021 Florida District Board of Circle K International

Florida Kiwanis - CKI Mentorship Program Are you interested in. . . Enhancing your communication skills? Establishing professional networks? Building relationships in the Kiwanis family? Sign up for the Florida Kiwanis-CKI Mentorship Program! The mission of the program is to connect CKI collegiate members to Kiwanis members to build meaningful professional relationships. A “mentor” is usually an experienced individual who shares knowledge, experience, and advice with a less experienced person, or “mentee.” The Mentorship Program will match Kiwanis members with CKI members who share similar academic backgrounds, professional interests, and career fields. The time commitment is one full school year (SeptemberMay) with a minimum contact of one time per month. Webinars and monthly resources will be provided to help guide mentors and mentees through the program. The first 50 CKI members who register will receive a mentor starting in the fall. Additional mentors will be assigned to CKI members as they sign up.
For questions about the program, contact Florida CKI K-Family Chair Selin Kavak at email@example.com
