1. Turn PA system on and read posted script. 2. Close rollup door above counter. Take the walkie-talkie.

3. Assist in clearing the following areas, reporting any problems to the Building Supervisor: 1. Pardee Gym 2. Energy Zone 3. Racquetball Courts 2/3/4/5/6 4. Rock Wall 5. Student Lobby / Cardio Spine 6. Small restrooms past Racquetball Court #6 7. If Locker office is closed, assist in clearing the following areas: a. Pyramid Room b. Dynasty Room c. Plaza View Conference Room d. Spin Room e. FIT Offices, STOMP Offices, Clubhouse 4. Exit the building safely with the walkie-talkie. 5. Await instructions from the Building Supervisor. •

Always check for signs of smoke or heat before opening any doors.

To prevent the spread of any fire, always close all doors. Whenever possible, leave the doors unlocked to simplify fire department access.

Leave the lights turned ON for the fire department.

Wheelchair accessible exits are only available at the Event Lobby and Student Lobby.

Everybody must leave the building as quickly as possible through the closest exit during a fire alarm. NO EXCEPTIONS. Reassure them that they will be allowed to return without ID. We don’t want to slow the evacuation process by gathering up their belongings and identification.

If somebody needs more assistance in exiting than one person can give, use the walkie-talkie to get more help.

Outdoor Adventures (make certain roll-up door in Rental Center is closed) d. Circuit Room (close doors) 2. If Locker Office is closed, assist in clearing the Locker Rooms 3. Exit the building. 4. Await instructions from the Building Supervisor. •

Event Lobby Restrooms d. Yates Gym 5. Exit the building safely with the walkie-talkie. 6. Await instructions from the Building Supervisor. •

John Wooden Center FIRE ALARM PROCEDURE Building Supervisor 1. Instruct desk staff via walkie-talkie to begin Fire Alarm Procedure, especially reminding them to read the script on PA system. 2. Make certain that nobody is using the elevator. 3. Clear the following areas on the second floor: a. Games Lounge b. Conference Room c. 2121/2131/2145 Office Suite d. Restrooms e. Blue Room (close doors) f. Gold Room (close doors) g. Racquetball and Squash Courts 4. Exit the building with the walkie-talkie 5. Proceed to NE corner of Arthur Ashe Center (next to loading dock) to meet the Fire Department and Facilities 6. Once the Fire Department gives permission for the building to be occupied, go inside and turn off door alarms that have been activated 7. Move staff back to their stations and wait for counters to be opened 8. Bring the public back into the building without checking ID (it’s okay to use the exit gate and disabled gate) •
