WEEKLY AT First Baptist Lyman
We’ve just finished Vacation Bible School and it was incredible. We were so blessed to have several children trust Christ as their Savior and Lord. That’s what it’s all about! The games were fun, the music was energetic, and the food delicious, but most importantly, lives were changed. This Wednesday, June 16, we began a new study. Crazy Love will take us from our “Americanized Christianity” to a new and fresh understanding of our God. This study will inspire us to delight in Him and find the passion for godliness we had when we were born in the faith. It’s not too late to join us, Wednesday evenings at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Here’s a heads up… We will be removing a pew from the back row of the sanctuary to make it wheelchair accessible. This suggestion was made by a faithful member who is looking out for the needs of our church family. It’s a great idea. “Thanks,” in advance, for your wonderful and willing spirit to accommodate this need. As I am writing to you we have a group of adults in Asheville, NC on mission. We have two students, Natalie White and Joseph Eubanks, on mission in Nicaragua, and another student, Jessica Stancil, training in Columbia, SC for her summer missions opportunity. Next week, Ricky will take our students to Asheville, as well, for a mission endeavor. Let’s pray daily for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of these individuals as they share the love of God with others. I hope to see you worshipping with us very soon. The Lord is really challenging us through His Word. I love you! God Bless, Pastor Scott

Well, summer is in full swing! We’re already halfway through June! I don’t know about you, but I am way excited about all that God is going to do in our lives this summer! We’ve started our Crazy Love study this week. If you missed our first session, it’s all good - just come next week! Trust me, you do not want to miss this study I know God has already used it tremendously in my life! Don’t forget Asheville Mission Trippers, we’re going to have mission trip training on Monday, June 21, from 2:00-4:00 PM. And church family, would you partner with us by praying for us as we head to Asheville on Wednesday, June 23? We are so excited about what God is going to do next week! We’ll be doing six backyard Bible clubs, practicing street evangelism in downtown Asheville, painting a parking lot for a local church, and participating in a community dialogue. God has great things in store for us - but Satan has big plans too. I am certain that we will experience some serious spiritual warfare next week, so please go to war alongside of us by lifting us up to our Father in prayer. Pray that He will draw us closer to Him and closer to each other next week. Pray for us that as we till the soil of Asheville we will witness a harvest and that people will come to know Jesus. Pray for Meso Church (with whom we will be partnering) pray for God to continue to save people through their labor in Asheville and for Meso Church to continue to grow and be a light in the darkness in Asheville. Pray for safety. And most importantly, pray for revival that only the Holy Spirit can bring! We can’t wait to tell you all about it! Praise God for these exciting times at Lyman! These are good days, and we serve a good God! To Him be the glory!!
