n a velociously and dynamically changing world, we experience a multilingual environment. As the world is ushering progressively into a compact global village, the access to other languages is not only plain sailing but also a potential competence that is in massive demand in the international job market.

With a bountiful number of students, aiming to attain higher education in a foreign country, in a continent like Europe (as the universities in Europe rate high in quality education, with a low budget), learning a European language becomes the entry ticket to a dream job. Gone are the days when just learning English used to be sufficient to travel the world and gain hands-on experience.

With more and more universities of Europe giving easy access to their campuses, the popularity graph reveals the higher inclination. Many European countries offer free higher education with minimum membership fees which looks extremely lucrative and fascinating to Indian students. However, the condition is to learn the core subjects in the language of that

European country as the medium of instruction is the native language. That leads, generates and surfaces the real debate: when learning a foreign language gives you access to many closed doors, is it a soft skill or a real hard competency?

The orientation shows many such students permanently settling abroad due to their pie in the sky job and often they carry their job in the language of that country.

Therefore, learning a foreign language is a mixed bag. It’s not only your survival kit to the foreign job market but also it is the channel which you must cross to reach the other shores. Although for a country like India, multilingual learning is not a non-native concept and many of us grow up learning the neighbours’ accents and syllables.

The urgency of the hour is to learn a foreign language. Discerning a foreign language is the core of communication as it facilitates a better understanding of conversations, negotiations, and dialogues which again frames the core of the economic spectrum are doing business in several different countries around the world, but they can’t do it without hiring people who have a grasp of at least one foreign language.

Apart from all these practical and easy to go benefits, there are far-reaching implications of learning any foreign language. It opens the horizons of an entirely new understanding of one’s own culture which often we miss in absence of differences.

Linguistic diversity begins nowadays as early as school years which provides a substantial foundation to the current context. It is certainly an early chance to sharpen the skills so that you are not edged but at the same time the continuity of learning should be unhampered as this skill is in demand more than any other when it comes to higher education in prestigious universities or cracking and sustaining that job chance. This is a phenomenal

change which the current generation is witnessing for sustainability. It is as critical as acquiring your engineering and management degrees; therefore, it would be apt to compare the learning of a foreign language as a hard skill that has become a must-have in one’s resume.

People who can speak multilingually are potential managers, as the management consider them a valuable asset to be able to connect with a broader range of people. It is better to know how to communicate with the foreign client such as German, Russian, or Japanese as the cultural identities are an integral part of these languages which if left unaddressed can lead to very unpredictable and conflicting deals in businesses but if learned, can pave and fill in the gap and generate the credibility and trust.

Many culturally conflicting situations can be avoided on a global table during the project meetings which deal with an international team.

If you understand the language of the team members it also enriches your understanding of the given cultural context. Discerning a foreign language is the core of communication as it facilitates a better understanding of conversations, negotiations, and dialogues which again frames the core of the economic spectrum.

The date, he said marked three significant developments in the country. It marked the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 and also a year of laying the foundation stone of the Ayodhya Ram Temple. Today, also marked the triumph of the Indian men's hockey team over Germany in the Tokyo Olympics, said PM Modi.

"Two years ago on this day, Article 370 was abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir. On this day last year, the first step was taken towards the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. parties in Mallikarjun Kharge’s office and on another day, he called the opposition leaders to the Constitution Club for breakfast.

After Mamata Banerjee gave the initial push to the opposition parties by camping in Delhi for five days, Congress leaders woke up and activated Rahul. Rahul himself is now taking interest in politics and devoting more time in the House while mingling with the opposition leaders inside theHouse.

But the million dollar question is, what is Rahul plan after the Parliament session is over on August 13? What then?

Will he travel to the states to meet the opposition leaders, which Mamata Banerjee is already preparing to do?

All things said and done, Congress’ place in opposition politics will be decided by the political developments over the next six months and the results of the assembly elections in five states after that.

The current gap between two doses of the vaccine has been set at 12-16 weeks for all adults.The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in India (NTAGI), which is slated to meet next week, has indicated that it will decide on the dosage interval in the next fortnight to a month after reviewing the scientific data collected by it. “We have gathered data on the impact of vaccines and their dosage interval on different age groups and from different regions,” Dr N.K. Arora, chairperson, covid-19 working group, NTAGI, said in an interview.

This drive was brought into effect after the High Court order in a petition filed by one lawyer Dhruti Kapadia.

In various projects including water, earlier the ratio of center and state was 90:10, which has now come down to 50:50. The share of the states out of the divisible pool of taxes on petrol and diesel is also being reduced continuously. Immediate resolution of these

issues is necessary otherwise there will be negative impact on the development of the states,” Gehlot stressed.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government has excellently managed the first and second wave of Covid. “The capacity to conduct 1.50 lakh RTPCR tests per day has now been achieved in the state. Oxygen beds have increased by 149 percent, ICU by 64 percent and ventilator beds by 87 percent.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will pay a two-day visit to his constituency in view of torrential rains creating havoc and throwing public life out of gear in the area.

As per the information available from his office, Birla will reach Kota on Saturday morning. During the tour, he is scheduled to visit the flood-affected areas and meet the families of the seven people, who died due to house collapse in Keshoraipatan.

Meanwhile, even with a little over two years still remaining, Nadda, while addressing the MPs and leaders, indirectly hinted at initiating preparation to boost the organisation. Sources reveal that Nadda has asked leaders to hold division wise and district wise meetings which even the MPs will

hold. Reactivating the booth committees, proper use of MPLAD funds and to be specially forthcoming towards panna paramukhs and booth committees along with formulating a 'sashakt mandal abhiyan' were some of the directions given by Nadda in the meeting. Interestingly, BJP is yet again focussing on its Booths and Panna Pramukhs as a

way to victory.

Later Nadda termed the conclave as a routine meeting, which is called at regular intervals to take feedback, specially when Parliament is in session. However, the meeting was important with regards to the political situation in Rajasthan as government is facing its own crisis while there were murmurs of internal strife within BJP too. It seems that at least for now, the internal tussle has come to a halt.

‘HOPEFUL’ MAHAJAN’s ‘DELHI DREAM’ SHATTERED! Rajendra Chhabra Jaipur: IAS Siddharth Mahajan’s dream of going to Delhi on deputation has been shattered and he will not be heading to the office of Lok Sabha Speaker as OSD. For the foreseeable future, Mahajan will continue giving his services as Secretary, Medical and Health Department at Secretariat, Jaipur.

The story behind Mahajan’s Delhi deputation

is extremely interesting and one of a kind. In December 2019, when he was serving as Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, out of the blue, he received a call to become the OSD to Lok Sabha Speaker. This led the bureaucracy wonder why Mahajan, a 2003 batch IAS and native of Delhi, was picked up by Om Birla to be his OSD and no one could understand the connection then. Mahajan was happy that now he will be able to stay

with his parents in Delhi.

But when the file was forwarded to CMO for a NOC, it got stalled there and could not move even after a year and even Birla’s attempt didn’t bear fruit. But then suddenly in November 2020, the state government gave him the permission, along with his IFS wife - Akansha - to head to Delhi. Along with this in December 2020, the state government appointed him Secretary, Medical Department

and it was a bizzare and surprising decision since on one hand, he was given the responsibility and just a few days before he had been given

NOC to head to Delhi.

While assuming the charge and preparing for the new responsibility, Mahajan also started preparing for his

Delhi deputation, but the conspiracy of circumstances was such that even though he received a good news from Delhi, it soon turned into bane.

In March 2021, Mahajan was empanelled for the post of Joint Secretary in Delhi but due to this, the job of OSD to Lok Sabha Speaker became distance, since a senior officer cannot be posted as OSD, which is considered to be a junior posting.

Although the Speaker’s office forwarded the file to Central DoPT for special consideration, however, few days back ta final ‘NO’ was accorded to the request.

Therefore, now if the Central Government calls Mahajan for a Joint Secretary level post, only then can he can head to Delhi and this will take time.

It is worth noting that while all this was happening, Mahajan has been handling his re-

sponsibility as Medical Secretary in an excellent manner for the past eight months. He has worked tirelessly in the current Covid crisis and the work that was handled by senior officials of the rank of ACS and Principal Secretary during the first wave of Covid, Mahajan has been handling the same successfully and presented a fitting example of his abilities.

Therefore, there also appears no reason for his transfer too.

On being asked about how she took up modelling at such a young age, Jahnvi said, “My journey as a model was very unplanned and unpredictable in a good way. I just wanted to do something productive in the time of the pandemic and took my friends and family’s suggestion to try my luck in modelling, since I am tall and have always been confident in front of the camera. That’s how I started shooting for local brands in Lucknow and later ended up working with very authentic and infamous brands in the city.”

She talked about her inspiration and said, “I met actor Ali Fazal who also hails from Lucknow and had a chat with him during a shoot. He encouraged me to pursue modelling and it was the validation I was looking for.”

hat makes the Beatles, the Beatles, is evident. They are eternal — a band like no other in history. They kicked off their fascinating saga soon after they launched their debut single and runaway hit, “Love Me Do,” sixty years ago. They influenced everything — including the post-war baby-boom generation in Britain, the US, and across the globe. Their fame, at one time, predictably exceeded not just the charisma of Presidents, but also Jesus Christ.

Though the ‘Fab Four’ — John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr — that made the group were originally famous for light pop music, their transcendent dexterity achieved a mix of critical and literary acclaim that no one has been able to match. Most importantly, thanks to their amazing popularity, the Beatles became more than recording artists; they branched out into films. Not only that. Lennon espoused political activism, not just the comfort of drugs, which the Beatles were once dubiously renowned for.

They were, for sure, the most successful music group in history; their global sales being a whopping 1.6 billion records.

When McCartney, prince charming-to-be of the group, met Lennon at a party in the late 1950s, the first seeds of the Beatles music were sown. A few years later, it blossomed to mesmerise fans all over the world.

Credit ought to go to producer George Martin too who played a pivotal role in the band’s success. He tapped the latent potential in the group; he recognised and nurtured it without infringing upon the Beatles natural musical chemistry.

There’s a bit of the odd too with the band. When the Beatles soared with their songs, they provided fulsome grist for middle-class daydreams, even though Lennon debunked the 1960s. He also resented “performing for the f***ing idiots who don’t know anything about music.” Lennon, of course, never suppressed his class-consciousness. Yet, when it came to winning, the Beatles emerged trumps always. They won the MBE too, despite protests from previous recipients who called the honour “vulgar and horrendous.”
