Don and Donna Gepfert Foundation Fund to Benefit Youth Programs n By Michael Barber When Cindy Sue Gepfert was a young girl, going to worship services at First Community Church wasn’t an option. “Dad was the leader of the family,” she said. “He got us rounded up every Sunday.” Don Gepfert, Cindy Sue’s father, made church life a priority for his family, which included Donna, Don’s wife of 61 years, oldest daughter Debie (Showe) and son Robert.

“One of my memories is when our family was chosen to light one of the Advent candles,” she said. The moment was captured in black and white in the mid-1960’s. “It’s just cute because it shows all of us together,” she said. Don led his family, and his life, by way of quiet example. This was, perhaps, a direct result of his small-town upbringing in northeast Ohio. (Continued, Page 2)

Don’s hope would have been to help young people who really want to be more involved, but don’t have the financial support.
