First Kids SPLASH! Is Tonight!
Youth Camp 2013
This year’s SPLASH into Summer kick-off is like Fall Festival with H2O! We are planning a wave of fun for the whole family—three water slides, a splash pool, water games with prizes, grilled hot dogs, watermelon, and snow cones. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and activities will open at 5:30 p.m. All the fun is free! We will have a summer sign-up table for VBS, VBS Plus, Music Arts Camp, Parents Day Out, and Thrilling Thursdays! VBS t-shirts will be on sale for $5. Kids should come prepared to get soaked—swimsuits or shorts with shoes that can get wet. The Nursery Suite will be staffed for our littlest ones, but it is optional.
Radius Camp is a youth camp with a mission focus. They call their week-long experiences “mission camps” because Radius combines elements of a Christian camp - Bible study curriculum, worship band, camp pastor—with the format of a mission trip. We’ll gather for morning and evening worship sessions, and during the day we partner each group with an existing ministry site.
TONIGHT | 5 – 7 p.m. | Patio and Staff Lot

Registration deadline is THIS Sunday, June 2. Register online at firstbaptistnashville.org or email Marissa at email@example.com.

Service Opportunity for Worship | 1st Our newest worship opportunity is growing and we couldn’t be more thankful. The next Worship | 1st is Friday, June 7, and will be just as incredible as the previous ones. Several attendees have little ones and the Nursery Suite is starting to get full! Seeing this month after month helped us realize the need for this event to continue. In order to do that, we need your help! If you would like to volunteer once a month and join us as we continue to reach young adults, give Noe a call or email. ( Noe Garcia, 664.6064, email@example.com
June 7 | 7 p.m. on the Patio
Christ Clothes Closet
You, your family, or small group may volunteer to serve the poor of our city through the Christ Closet, which is open every first and third Sunday from 12 – 1 p.m.
Looking for an opportunity to serve? We are looking for teachers for Mission Friends (MF) for the 2013 – 2014 school year. There are spots available in the 3’s, 4’s, and Kindergarten classes. MF meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:25 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. beginning in the fall.
BibleSticks are convenient, digital audio players that are simple to use and come pre-loaded with an entire Audio New Testament—all in a slim player the size of a pack of gum! Chaplains of the U.S. Military are giving away BibleSticks to our servicemen and servicewomen overseas so they have opportunity to hear God’s Word.
The Christ Closet is located behind the Fellowship Hall and serves both men and women. It’s the perfect ministry to do as a family or with a few friends, as 3 adults (or 2 adults and a very responsible youth) are all that are needed to run the Christ Closet. If you have a larger group—a Sunday School class or small group, for example—we always have donations that need sorting, and volunteering together is a great bonding activity, not to mention a tremendous help to this ministry. Younger volunteers can provide ice water and snacks to guests and serve in many ways. The Jordan-Lake family will gladly give you a 10-minute overview of how to run the Christ Closet at a time convenient to you, even if it’s right after church! In addition, we have a one-page information sheet that should answer most all of your questions: one person lets guests in through the door leading from the covered driveway and escorts them to the Christ Closet. The other volunteers assist the guests, and as time permits can also size and hang donated clothing on the racks. ( Joy Jordan-Lake, firstname.lastname@example.org
Don’t Forget! There will be no Wednesday evening activities on June 5. Spend the evening in worship with your families at home!

Mission Trip to Haiti We are excited to continue our partnership with our Haitian friends. This summer we are thrilled to take two teams to Haiti in July. Not only will our Senior Foreign Mission Trip again be to Haiti on July 17 – 23, but a second group will be traveling the week before, July 11 – 17. Ministry in Haiti will consist of working with the Children of Hope orphanage and construction projects. This work will serve to continue our relationship building efforts in conjunction with the works of The Joseph School. For more information, visit thejosephschool.org. ( Jim Bryson, firstname.lastname@example.org
First Thursday of each month 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Room 460 We hold monthly meetings for women of all ages to create handcrafted items that will spread God’s redeeming message throughout the world. We’ll make evangelism dolls for local and world missions and create yarn-covered crosses. All skill levels are invited to come for an hour, or the entire time.
We’ve almost reached our goal to get God’s Word to as many of our military as is possible. Collections have begun and will conclude THIS Sunday. Stop by the Mountain Movers table for more details or to make your donation (or simply make your contribution with a MEMO line “BIBLESTICK” to First Baptist Nashville). faithcomesbyhearing.com/bible-stick
June 19 | 3 – 7 p.m. | Room 150 First Baptist Nashville will be hosting a Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, June 19, from 3 – 7 p.m. in Room 150. A great benefit from this blood drive is that any graduating senior in the Nashville area donating blood will be eligible to win scholarships—one for $1,000 and one for $2,000! Eligibility for the scholarships will also further depend upon each blood drive collecting its required quota of units of blood. You are encouraged to help give the gift of life, and possibly financially enrich one of our senior students! Sign up in the Foyer following worship and look for Ruth! ( Ruth Kuzur, 377.3254
