Volume 63 / Week Number 22 / May 31, 2012

The Messenger firsT bapTisT hunTsville oN SeCoND THouGHT Jud Reasons, Associate Pastor With Memorial Day behind us, we now turn our attention to ministry opportunities of the summer. I hope you will find multiple ways to minister and serve in the coming weeks and months. We send a group to Perry County next Sunday to build, repair, and minister to the folks of Perry County. It’s not too late to sign up! Call the church office or contact Gordon Perry about this exciting opportunity open to the entire church family. We welcome home a Medical Mission Team who returned from a two week trip to the Dominican Republic this past Sunday. We look forward to hearing how God used them to touch many lives. In three weeks, we send over forty of our young people and chaperones to the Dominican Republic. I hope you will be in prayer for this group as they continue to prepare. Sunday, June 10 we welcome a candidate here in view of a call as Associate Minister of Music/Organist. Following both morning services, we will have a called business meeting to vote on this candidate. You will learn the name and more information in next week’s Messenger. Information will also be shared next Wednesday night. These are exciting days at FBC! Can you believe that Vacation Bible School is about to begin? Hundreds of kids will come through the doors of our church to learn more about Jesus. Do you know someone in grades 1-6 who would benefit from going to VBS at First Baptist Church this year? This great week begins Monday, June 11! While you’re inviting someone to VBS, call the Childhood Ministries Office and volunteer to assist with VBS and be blessed. This Sunday, we look forward to hearing our Minister to Students, Jamie Mackey as he preaches in both morning worship services. Sunday afternoon from 3PM to 7PM we gather at Sharon Johnston Park for our Church-wide Picnic. You are encouraged to bring a picnic spread for your family and few others. The church will provide drinks and paper goods. We will eat at 5PM. The FBC Bluegrass Band will entertain us while we enjoy fellowship, fishing, and time on the playground and the ball fields. Bring your food and some chairs and let’s picnic together this Sunday! Jud Reasons Associate Pastor
