THIS DOCUMENT

This document describes the KreaTV Software 3.5, its configurations, changes compared to the previous release (3.4.3), and known problems in the current release. It also gives a brief overview of the features of the product. For more detailed information regarding functionality see the Product Specification [1]. KreaTV 3.5 is released for the IP-STB 500/700-series and VIP1500/1700-series with version 3.5.0.7. It is released for the VIP1900-series with version 3.5.0.8.

2.

NEXT SOFTWARE RELEASE

The next maintenance release will be KreaTV Software 3.5.1. A maintenance release only includes bug fixes or minor functionality. The next minor release will be KreaTV Software 3.6. A minor release may contain new functionality and interfaces, but interfaces are always backwards compatible. The next major release will be KreaTV Software 4.0. A major release means that interfaces and functionality may change or be removed.

Limitations

The following limitations apply to the 3.5 release: 

The KreaTV Configuration Server must send out home page URL, portal URL and proxy list for the Web and Portal applications to start correctly.



PNG images with gamma channel are not supported in the Web and Portal applications.

3.6.

Migration planning

All IIPs have changed their names for the 3.5 release. The prefix ‘kreatel’ has been replaced with ‘kreatv’, e.g. the IIP ‘kreatel-option-softwareservice' is now called ‘kreatv-optionsoftwareservice’. This means that all bootimage configuration files will have to be rewritten.

The VIP1900-series now only accepts signed and encrypted IIPs sent to the software manager at runtime.
