race Fans will Feel even more welcome at the glen in ’11 Just when you thought The Soul of American Road Racing couldn’t get any better, Watkins Glen International (WGI) has upped the ante by announcing about $3 million in capital improvements for 2011, including: Four new permanent grandstands that will improve the current experience and increase the track’s total grandstand capacity by over 1,400 seats. a brand-new Four-season Crown royal Club that will overlook Seneca Lake from the top of the track’s famed “esses,” offering fans the full VIP treatment. permanent showers that will be added to two bathrooms in the infield, giving campers close and convenient locations to freshen up. numerous new water spigots and 60 additional light posts throughout the Geico Caveman unreserved campgrounds. Plus, campers staying in Pit Road Camping can look forward to a fully paved area. This latest round of improvements brings the total amount of money invested in WGI to almost $30 million since 2001.
