Self-esteem is very important and is no longer a taboo subject,” explains Dr. Rodas. “Changes in body contour, combined with psychosocial aspects, may lead to embarrassment or difficulty in everyday life. The goal of plastic surgery is to improve a person’s quality of life.” He encourages potential patients to become well informed about plastic surgery and research their surgeon. “One of the most common misconceptions of plastic surgery is that it’s magic,” Dr. Rodas explains.
“We are working with living tissue so it is very hard to predict a perfect result since there can be slight asymmetry, for example.
