WELCOME Set within 108 acres, Gilwell Park is truly a place of inspiration. Our unique venue is just 30 minutes from London Liverpool Street by public transport and 8 minutes from junction 26 of the M25 by car, yet in open countryside. Gilwell Park combines 17th Century charm with 21st Century facilities. The White House is a 17th Century Grade II listed building and is the centrepiece of the estate, providing a stunning backdrop for your perfect wedding reception or special event. It has been sympathetically restored to offer the most up to date facilities, including a lounge bar and 35 en suite bedrooms. We pride ourselves on the friendliness of our staff; from working with you in advance, your welcome at reception, to those setting up and serving your wedding breakfast or fine dining experience, the team will be quick to respond to your individual requirements. Gilwell Park is owned and managed by The Scout Association but available to all. By choosing our venue for your event you are helping to support our work with young people across the UK and beyond.

WEDDINGS This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times of your life. Your wedding day should be the biggest, most extravagant and elegant day and deserves the perfect setting. Gilwell Park is available for large wedding receptions where you can be assured that yours will be the only wedding reception taking place that day. When you book your event, you will have access to the reception rooms in The White House, the Buffalo Lawn and some of our grounds for formal photographs, as well as our Main Hall and several smaller rooms. If you are after a more intimate setting, our historical rooms within the 17th Century, Grade II listed White House are the ideal location for a smaller wedding reception. In addition, a bedroom for the Bride and Groom will be complimentary for the night of the wedding. Included in your package are the services of one of our Conference Office staff to act as a co-ordinator for your event to ensure your requirements are met and your dreams are fulfilled.

FACILITIES The White House Not only is The White House a stunning backdrop, but its grand entrance and red carpet can be used as you enter the venue as a newly married couple. The 17th Century house has three interconnecting rooms which can be used for reception drinks or canapĂŠs. The White House houses 35 en suite bedrooms; including single, double, twin and family options and has its own bar which is also available to residents. Also for smaller wedding receptions, The White House can seat up to 40 guests for your wedding breakfast and has a total capacity of 80 people for your evening reception. Buffalo Lawn Located between The White House and the C.I.C, the Buffalo Lawn is a splendid outdoor space for holding summer drinks receptions and barbecues. It is also one of the many beautiful locations within the grounds of Gilwell Park ideal for wedding photos. Colquhoun International Centre (C.I.C) This purpose built conference centre has a Main Hall, which can seat up to 150 guests for formal dining and has a total capacity of 250. The hall is decorated with a marquee style ivory liner to transform it into a classic banqueting venue. Adjacent to the Main Hall is a fully licensed bar and large seating area. There are also several other rooms available, which can be used as storage, changing rooms or somewhere to keep the children amused.

DINE Gilwell Park has an experienced team of in-house chefs who are adept at delivering amazing food for a wide range of events. So whether you would like a small finger buffet or a full sit down formal dinner you can be confident that we will deliver. Our highly talented team of chefs offer extensive wedding breakfast and evening buffet menus which can be accompanied with a whole range of fine wines and champagnes. We also have a choice of Caribbean, Chinese and Indian buffet menus and are happy to work with you if you have any recipes or special dietary requirements. We understand the importance of selecting the perfect menu for you and your guests which is why we offer a complimentary wedding breakfast menu tasting once you have confirmed your booking with us. Cooked by our chefs in view of your guests, a barbecue is a great alternative to create a relaxed atmosphere for your wedding breakfast or special event. Alternatively, we can also offer a vintage tea party in our picturesque grounds using our vintage crockery. Why not invite your guests to join you for a farewell barbecue or vintage tea party the next day before you jet off on honeymoon?

STAY You’ve shared your special day with all your family and friends and now it is time to retire. With a unique range of 35 stylish en suite bedrooms, both you and your bridal party will be able to stay the night in this historic venue. With a choice of single, double, twin or family rooms, as well as the additional options of extra beds and cots, our accommodation offers your guests flexibility and convenience at amazing value. All bedrooms are en suite and equipped with free internet access, a television and tea and coffee making facilities. Continental and full English breakfast is served every morning.

CELEBRATE As well as being the perfect venue for wedding receptions, our unique venue is the ideal location for a variety of other special events. Whether you are looking to hold an anniversary or birthday party, a christening, a bar or bat mitzvah, a black tie dinner or other special event, our dedicated team will work with you to deliver the perfect celebration. The C.I.C is ideal for larger functions. This large and versatile space can be completely customised to your needs with a range of seating options, offering AV equipment and a large marquee-style liner for an elegant and weather proof space for up to 250 people. The White House also offers a number of smaller rooms and a licensed bar perfect for smaller functions or intimate private dinner parties. As well as a venue for meetings, private events and training, we are also able to offer a range of packages at Gilwell Park. These include Christmas Private Fine Dining and Vintage Tea Parties.

FAQs Can we have Confetti? Yes of course you can have confetti; after all, it is a wedding! We would just ask – if possible – that it could be biodegradable and we do draw the line at confetti bombs! Can we supply our own bar or bring our own alcohol? Gilwell Park is a fully licensed venue with its own bars offering a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks. Corkage is charged should you wish to bring your own alcohol. Please contact us for more details. Can we bring in our own caterers? The Scout Association and Gilwell Park only work with an external caterer who provides approved Kosher catering. We also have a choice of Caribbean, Chinese and Indian buffet menus prepared by our chefs and are happy to work with you if you have any recipes or special dietary requirements. Please contact us for more details. Can we have fireworks? Yes, but please talk to us first as conditions will apply. Where do guests park? We provide free, adequate parking for all your guests, so whether you arrive in a stretched limousine, a coach, or a horse and carriage we will find you a space! What time do we have access to the Main Hall? We guarantee access to the Main Hall from 9am on the day, to start getting ready. Your suppliers, such as florists, are welcome to start setting up from this time, and you may drop off various wedding items (such as favours, name cards, table plans, etc) with us the day before. Are we allowed to decorate or theme the venue? We are very happy for you to decorate and theme the rooms. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. Are we allowed to bring in our own entertainment? Yes, we have plenty of indoor and outside space, but please talk to us first as conditions will apply.
