BRAIN ENRICHMENT PROGRAM “The Science of Contentment November 1, 2018 10:00A.M. Olive Wood Theater

The program will include the following: - live music - audience specific and appropriate stretching/yoga -breathing exercises - a discussion/lecture component of recent developments in neuroscience research that will include -brain structure and plasticity -neurons, neural pathways, conditioned thinking, metacognition - interactive sharing among participants - singing, rhythmic attunement - meditation Please join us for an hour long exploration into the science and practice of cultivating contentment in our lives. We will gather to review and engage our amazing brains and bodies, looking into some basics of recent neuroscience research and brain plasticity as well as peek into how our subconscious thoughts can help or hinder us in our daily lives. By using music, rhythm, creativity and gentle movements we will invite our bodies to learn as well as our minds. This introduction and opening will be a time to share with other community members, and attendees will leave with a resource packet for further study. Jim Kellerman is a passionate student of health and wholeness. A full time artist and musician for the past 35 years he has gained a keen awareness for creating environments that are conducive to growth, learning and community and has combined that with a passion for neuroscience to create this exciting wellness offering. "It's not events that determine our peace of mind but our responses to those events"
