Ron Agam Ron Agam was born in Paris in 1958 and was educated in Paris, Rehovot (Israel), and New York. Ron Agam, son of Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, translated his upbringing in an artistic environment to the medium of his choice-photography. At the age of six, Ron recalls being drawn to the camera and shooting stills of his father`s work. In his father`s Paris studio, Ron played in the darkroom, fascinated by the image materializing in the darkness Ron’s youth was divided between Paris and Rehovot, Israel. He deeply values his education and feels it helped mold him into who he is today. Growing up with a camera always in hand, Ron has roots in Jewish-Israeli culture and has worked to capture his Jewish traditions in his work. Through his mother, Clila, who passed away twenty years ago, he is descended from both opposing Hasidim and Mitnagdim traditions. He can trace his ancestry seven generations to the founder of Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liady. Although Ron lives in New York City, his ties to Israel are strong. His first public exhibition was opened on May 17, 1994, at the Magidson Fine Art Gallery in Manhattan. The exhibit consisted of thirty photos taken at the Western Wall and the ultra-Orthodox conclave of the Mea Shearim which constituted the basic portfolio for this commemorative collection. Ron’s photographs have appeared in numerous media outlets around the world, from Time Magazine to MTV. He received great acclaim for his exhibitions in the mid-1990s of a series of photographs taken at the Western Wall and the Ultra-Orthodox conclave of Meah Shearim in Jerusalem. In late 2001, he created a series based on his photographic work at Ground Zero on September 11, which was included in a traveling group exhibition responsible for raising money for the victims of 9/11.

Robert Bissell Imaginary Realist Robert Bissell creates a completely different atmosphere from our daily experience, inviting us to learn more about ourselves. In his paintings the world of animals is a mirror for human existence, selfdefinition and reflection. These are not mere children's tales - quite the contrary. Bissell's work causes us to reflect on the environment, life, death, renewal and the stages of transition - departing from the safety of family, and making our way in the world. Bissell grew up on a farm in Somerset, England, where animals, Celtic legends and panoramic landscapes were part of his daily life. His keen interest in visuals began at an early age, documenting life around him through photographs. He would spend hours stalking wildlife on the moors close to his house to see how close he could get before they would sense his presence. Pagans and Celtic Christians believed the natural world was the bridge that connected earth and spirit, with animals acting as spiritual intermediaries. Now, most people live in cities and suburbs, separated from that world. “Animals used to be involved with humans as messengers with magical functions,” he says. “Now they are our slaves for consumption and entertainment. I wanted to restore their role and give them a new voice.” Since then he has devoted all this time to painting. He regularly exhibits in museums and galleries across the United States and Europe. Bissell hopes his paintings appeal to the intellectual child in us, reminding us of the mythic and universal human values in the tradition of the great heroic-quest stories. His work encourages us to reflect on nature, the roads we travel, and the choices we make along the way. His story encourages us follow our passions and have the courage to do what is meaningful to us – whatever that might be.

Guy Buffet Guy Buffet was born in Paris, France in the district of Montparnasse on January 13, 1943. His father, Jules Cesar Buffet, loved to take his son for walks in the district and show him famous landmarks such as the La Coupole Restaurant, where famous artists like Picasso, Chagall, Braque and Foujita would spend many of their days and evenings. He walked his young son past their homes and those artists became the heroes of Guy's youth, marking the beginning of his lifetime interest in the world of art. When Guy was twelve years old, he lost his elderly father and two years later, moved with his mother to the south of France to a fishing harbor called Sanary, not far from Saint TropĂŠz. Soon after, he left his conventional school to enroll in the Beaux Arts School of Toulon in order to study art full time. While attending school, Guy met a delightful lady who happened to be the mother of the Chief of Staff of the French Navy. This event would change his life forever, for the Admiral was also a passionate artist and it wasn't long before a strong bond united the two. The young artist giving tips on painting and the Admiral giving precious advice to a young boy in need of a father, the Admiral suggested to Guy that he would make a good sailor by joining the French Navy. Guy joined the French Navy at eighteen and traveled the world. Guy has traveled the world over again and again since his Navy days. He has derived from his French heritage, inspiration for his most recognized images of whimsical sommeliers, chefs and waiters in hilarious character, consistently capturing the spirit of the French and their love of fine food and wine.

Jason Dietz Jason Dietz isn’t a man given to wild flights of fancy, but his flying saucer, UFO sculptures are too much fun to ignore. Jason has been an artist his entire life. In one of those half dream-half wake states, Jason’s mind’s eye created a U.F.O. Flying Saucer Sculptures. As someone who grew up in automobile fabrication and design, he often uses an imagined image to create a solid reality. Thus, a unique original kinetic sculpture was born. Jason did not know he was going to be crafting UFO sculptures, until his first one landed to others awes. Jason specializes in handmade one of a kind original UFO Sculptures. They stand between 5 and 7 feet tall and are made out of materials such as hand blown recycled glass tube, light diffusers, and acrylic rings. They have liquid which can custom colored to your liking. They use a series of different lights that include CFLs, hundreds of LEDs, and halogens. They each have an air pump that produces the bubbles from the bottom. If you look carefully you can see the cow being lifed out of a grassy pasture in the giant plasma-tube. Jason started out restoring classic cars when he was a teenager and has always enjoyed creating fun things. Jason is inspired from seeing his visions become a reality. “It is always very fulfilling to see something that you create — it gives you a sense of pride in what you do.” “We all have the power to create anything we want to see — it just depends on how much you really want to see it happen.” – Jason Dietz

Christian Riese Lassen Artist Christian Riese Lassen has been recognized the world over for more than 20 years for his unique art and vision. Regarded as the premier marine artist of our time, his majestic paintings inspire appreciation and awareness of Mother Earth. Raised on the island of Maui, the self-taught artist and avid surfer found his original influence in nature and from the ocean and has translated this intimate knowledge into enchanting and popular works of art that have brought us closer to marine life than ever before. Christian Riese Lassen’s super-realistic series of marine paintings, featuring whales, dolphins and fish seen both above and below the ocean's surface are stunning "multienvironmental" paintings. The "Two Worlds" style is an eloquent statement about the interconnection of the Earth's bio-systems and made the artist internationally famous almost overnight. As Mr. Lassen’s work matures, he seeks "simplicity, reality and truth". In his latest exploration, Mr. Lassen is creating a series that is totally new and unique by blending his original painting techniques with hi-tech digital imagery. This Zen-like journey to find balance between the digital and organic world is not unlike his exploration of multiple worlds above and below the ocean or in and out of multiple art styles. An adventurous spirit comes naturally to Christian Riese Lassen, as his mother taught him, "Reach for the stars; you can always take the moon!"

H. Leung Born on May 14, 1933, in Canton, China, Ken H. Leung moved to Hong Kong in 1945 to become involved in the city's vital young artistic community. Largely self-taught, his first oil paintings went on display in a Hong Kong gallery in 1960. Within a year, his fishing villages and coastal community scenes were a sensation in art circles, and the leading art gallery of Hong Kong started to represent his art. Over the years, H. Leung exhibited his oils all over the world, and he received numerous honors and distinctions in many countries. In 1978, he became a resident of the United States and a legal citizen a year later. He settled permanently in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and four sons, including artists Thomas Shu Pong and Richard Leung. Today, H. Leung is recognized as one of the premiere neo-impressionist artists; a master of the enchanted landscape, dreamy moods, and magic reflections of light and color. His work is exhibited at prestigious art galleries throughout the United States. His first images were published in 1961, and since then demand for his limited editions has steadily increased in the U.S. as well as in Europe and Asia.

Richard Leung Following in the footsteps of his father and older brother, Richard Leung is rapidly earning recognition as the family's third talented landscape painter. Today, his work is represented by leading galleries throughout Hawaii and the Western United States. Born on October 10, 1961, in Hong Kong, Richard Leung immigrated with his family in 1975 to California. After finishing high school, he attended Laney College in Oakland and majored in art and business, as well as studying photography. Encouraged and trained by his father, Richard Leung's technique is less impressionistic than the other members of the family, though he too takes his greatest inspiration from nature. He travels frequently to experience different landscapes and scenes, studying forms, lighting effects, and coloring. His work features an increasingly dramatic use of color and a tendency to focus more intimately upon a landscape, producing a smaller image that is full of power. At the same time, his work owes much to the ancient Chinese tradition, offering a lightness and sparseness of subject. "As with any artist, I paint in hopes that my work will comfort the viewer and transport them to a place of beauty, a paradise where only dreams can take them," he says.

Thomas Leung Thomas Leung was born May 30, 1958, in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Inheriting his artistic talent from his father, H. Leung, he grew up watching his father create beauty on canvas, and knew that he, too, would become an artist. That he had artistic abilities became apparent when he was still very young and winning awards for drawing in school. His father encouraged his interest and later became his tutor. As a teenager, Thomas Leung exhibited his first paintings at the same gallery in Hong Kong where his father's works were shown. His family then immigrated to the United States, and he went to college to major in art. While still in college, he started to develop his own individual style, finding exciting new ways to express his novel ideas. He experimented with colors, created new concepts, and found new paths of artistic development. After graduation, he started to show his paintings in exhibitions in museums and art shows, and awards and honors began coming his way. Today, Thomas Leung creates canvases of great diversity: dreamy landscapes and magical fantasies, striking abstracts in bold colors, and pastels of multi-hued iridescence. They all show a masterful harmonization of color and a vibrant vitality. His paintings today can be seen at many prestigious galleries throughout the United States.

Thomas McKnight Thomas McKnight is an artist somewhat out of sync with his times. Born in 1941 In Lawrence, Kansas, by generation he should have been an early pop artist or a late neoexpressionist. But he came of age artistically during the 1970's, when art had practically done itself in with minimalism and conceptual experimentation. His work, full of color and image, seems to be a reaction to that gray decade McKnight discovered art at about age thirteen when his mother gave him a set of oil paints, and his first painting - a snowy castle on a hill - was similar to those he still creates. When he was sixteen, McKnight's choice of career was confirmed by the famous designer and art director of Harper's Bazaar, Alexey Brodovitch, who told him that he "had it". After growing up in various suburbs of Washington, D.C., Montreal, and New York, he attended Wesleyan University , a small liberal arts college in Middletown , Connecticut , where he was one of only five art majors. Perhaps this fostered his independent, even eccentric, approach to the art "isms" of his time. Today, McKnight's work is represented in the permanent collection of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and in the Smithsonian Institute. McKnight and his wife live in a large neo-colonial house in the picturesque village of Litchfield, Connecticut. He has converted the top floor to a loft-like studio where he spends most of his time reading, dreaming, and creating pictures of real and imagined Arcadias.

Michael Parkes Michael Parkes - Magical Realist. What is unusual about Michael Parkes is that in his images metaphysical and spiritual elements are joined into reality. His work evokes a mysterious atmosphere, which can often only be deciphered with the help of ancient mythology and eastern philosophy. In the fantasy world of Parkes, the laws of earthly reality are abolished, and space and time enter into their own motionless communion. It is tempting to speak of a dream world with Parkes, if it were not for the fact that the ‘dream world’ of Michael Parkes surpasses all of our dreams in audacity, freedom and intensity. In short, in Michael Parkes, the figurative art of our age has found a new, fascinating and extremely authentic exponent. “As human beings, we limit our sense of perception to what is generally comfortable and present in everyday life. In limiting our perceptions to suit our individuality, we miss the vastness of other perceptions and the doors they represent. Though we have been conditioned to perceive nothing except our own world, this does not mean we cannot enter other realms.” Michael Parkes Michael Parkes is the world’s leading Magical Realist. He is a painter, a sculptor, and a stone lithographer. His more than 30 years of success as a fine artist stand out in the art world, where less than 1% of artists ever achieve success in both the primary and secondary markets. Parkes’ works are collected by celebrities, important private collectors, and museums around the world, and his body of work has stood the test of time. That being said, Parkes’ continues to create new works, all of which are widely sought after.

Markus Pierson Markus Pierson was born in 1961 and raised in the small farming town of Grand Ledge, Michigan, where his father owned a popular restaurant. A self-proclaimed reckless “racer”, Markus was the youngest and most challenging of the four Pierson children. While a student, an encouraging art teacher swung wide the door to Markus’ talent and profoundly moved him. However, the Grand Ledge art scene was somewhat lacking, leading Markus to take on a number of odd jobs before accidentally stumbling upon accounting as a means to making a living. After a near-fatal bout with Crohn’s Disease in early 1985, he declared that the accountant was “dead” and in his place was a man pursuing his dream of becoming a successful artist. The Coyote Series was born in June of 1986, after Markus heard the Joni Mitchell song, “Coyote.” He loved it, played it often and memorized the words. The focus of the song, a guy referred to as “Coyote,” is a reckless, footloose Casanova type fellow – Pierson aspired to be the carefree romancer described in those lyrics. Then he did something he’d never done before or since: Markus made a drawing of a song.

Fredrick Prescott Life and art join to reveal a dynamic partnership in the work of Fredrick Prescott. The joy and animation seen in Prescott’s sculptures simultaneously evoke the natural world and its imaginary counterpart. As graphically bold and colorful as his pieces are, they always look perfectly at ease in a natural setting, though there is no denying their otherworldly quality. The dichotomy between the real and the fantastical in Prescott’s artwork leads to the creation of a captivating, multi-dimensional art form. Using the visual and emotional impact of brilliant color on moving steel, the artist produces sculptures reflecting his singular perception of the world around him. His work is seen as a blend of folk art, pop art, and technically advanced construction. Everything surrounding him in the world serves as a constant inspiration to Fredrick Prescott. The vibrant colors that find their way into his sculptures are drawn from the distinctively electric palette of the contemporary world. The artist’s pieces reflect his experiences, as he transforms them into the half-real, half-fantastic images that are a tangible example of the joy and humor he finds in all that he observes. Whether depicting frenetic street scenes, or the world of animals and nature, all pieces are created from the joyful perspective that the world is humorous and colorful. Always striving to catch up to the hundreds of ideas constantly whirling inside his head, Prescott overwhelms himself in a frenzy of activity that encompasses every stage of his creative process. His life runs at the fevered pace of an artist who is constantly recreating himself and whose boundless energy and creativity is inspired by all that he hears, sees, touches, and learns.

M.L. Snowden International art critic, Remo Nevi describes M.L. Snowden as a “Great figurative contemporary master whose profound and powerfully realized portfolio places the artist among the world’s most respected representational sculptors at work today.” M.L. Snowden is the sole living inheritor of select 19th century marble carving, finishing, casting and bronze patination techniques from the Paris studios of Auguste Rodin and Antonin Mercié. M.L. Snowden sculpted alongside her father for seventeen years as an apprentice and as a professional in Snowden Studios. In 1990, M.L. Snowden inherited a collection of 38 of the original sculpting tools from the Rodin Studios. Rodin’s tools were bequeathed to M.L. Snowden’s father by the Swiss sculptor, Robert Georges Eberhard, who was Chairman of the Yale School of Sculpture for almost fifty years and was a professional in Rodin’s studios in the latter part of the 19th century. Eberhard was a mentor to the sculptor’s father, George H. Snowden, N.A. (1901-1990); who was in American art. G.H. Snowden was a sculpture educator at Yale University for many years and his extensive list of commissioned sculptures now constitute national historic landmarks. Over the last two decades, M.L. Snowden has pursued sculpture as an expression of titanic geological phenomena and the impact of mankind on his environment. Harvard University’s Michael Miller, National Marketing Director Emeritus of Butterfields / EBay writes, “These are historic works that uncannily unite expressionism’s great inner explosions and outward cataclysms with Europe’s golden age. M.L. Snowden’s art is a glorious fusion - the summary of our age superseded by the vitality of a moment.
