Seller Insight This hidden gem of a traditional country cottage is set in total seclusion in what was the kitchen garden, originally belonging to the local Manor House. Set amidst glorious countryside and located in the village of Lower Apperley, whilst major towns such as Tewkesbury, Gloucester and Cheltenham are extremely convenient to visit. Large shops, theatres and restaurants are located here, together with ease of access to the many art, literary festivals and exhibitions which regularly take place. The highly desirable village has a strong sense of local community with many sociable events taking place in its village hall. Much of village life revolves around the cricket and tennis clubs. There is an outstanding primary school in the village, with easy access to a plethora both state and independent schools. The village is also very proud of its two sociable pubs. Road and rail links are excellent and travel to Birmingham Airport is an easy journey. The owners lived close by and were looking to downsize and the cottage, its peaceful and tranquil location, teamed with the adjacent grounds was ideal for them. Much of the cottage was built in Victorian times, but there are some much older parts. The owners undertook a sizeable and sympathetic renovation programme to create a comfortable family home which, whilst retaining its unique historic character, is designed with a layout to suit a luxurious contemporary lifestyle. It has been a delightful home and it’s also a lovely place to share with friends and family. The dining room features an historic fireplace, rescued from another part of the house, and which adds to the special atmosphere in this room. When candles are lit and the fire is aglow there is a magic ambience in here. The secluded, spacious, garden reflects the care and attention to detail by the owners who have created a garden full of interest and colour. With its large seating/dining area, or relaxing in the conservatory, it is an area in which to enjoy complete leisure time, and maybe to reflect on the seasonal changes. When designing the renovation of the house, it was important for the owners to create a large open plan kitchen/breakfast/sitting room. This lovely space is bright and airy and demonstrates the melding together of tradition and contemporary style. As the area opens into the conservatory, it is the perfect room for large informal gatherings of friends. It is for practical reasons that the owners will be saying farewell to this splendid home. They wish its new owners much happiness and contentment. * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
