Seller Insight I’ve lived in the house for around thirty-five years now, but it was my husband who purchased the property back in 1964, and he always said that it was its character that drew him to it. It retains some lovely original features, including panelling in the hallway and up on the firstfloor landing, and there’s also some very elegant cornicing in the main sitting room. However, he was also rather taken with the superb location, which is one of the reasons there was no desire to move. The tube station at Loughton, which is on the Central Line, is within walking distance, there’s a bus stop virtually at the end of the road so it’s easy to get around even without a car , and all of the day-to-day needs are catered for by the superb array of shops in the town centre. And, of course, Epping Forest is just a stone’s throw away; it’s a beautiful place to go walking and makes you feel as if you’re miles from anywhere. This lovely home, which was built in the 1930s, enjoys a sought after location on a quiet residential road just a short distance from Loughton town centre. The house has a lovely, happy feel about it, the rooms are all nicely proportioned, particularly the main sitting room, which is also wonderfully light and bright, and the layout flows extremely well so it’s incredibly comfortable. Over time the décor has been updated and the whole house has been incredibly well maintained, but there’s scope to do more and so the new owners could definitely come in and put their own stamp on it. Another lovely feature of the property is the garden, which is an extremely generous size, and it’s something that has given the current owner a great deal of pleasure. A great deal of time was spent selecting and planting shrubs so it’s very well stocked, and there are lots of evergreens so the outlook is green throughout the year, even in the winter. They also added trees and hedging to create a wonderful sense of privacy and then the rest of the space is mainly laid to lawn. It’s a lovely place to just sit out and relax and there is plenty of room for outdoor entertaining.
