FOREWORD Carry this booklet with you and keep it handy for ready reference. It contains in simplified form the sequences of operational procedures for each cine-technique - Fade-In/Fade-Out, Lap-Dissolves, Multiple Exposures and Reverse Filming. Just follow the explanatory copy corresponding to the numbered diagrams. You will find it of great help whenever an occasion presents itself.


FAD E.oUT IF AD E-I N Used to darken a scene gradually until it becomes entirely black (fade-out) or appears gradually out of darkness (fade-in). FADE-OUT

1. Start filming in the normal way. Push the FE Control upward (FO) and keep it in the upward position. Caution : Rese t the shutter blad e openin g in the totally opened position when filming is over.

FADE-IN 1. Set the shutter blade opening in the totally closed position. 2. Push the Film Effect (FE) Control downward (FI) and keep filming, the camera returns to normal filming when the Fade-in is completed.


LAP-DISSOLVES One scene gradually fades away, at the same time another scene gradually appears and takes its place. 1. Set the OL/DE switch to OL. 2. Aim the camera and depress the trigger while maintaining the FE Control in theJorward position. 3. Set the REW/FOW switch to REW and depress the trigger to rewind the film. 4. Set the REW/FOW switch to FOW. 5 . To start the nex t sce ne with its superimposed fade-in, squeeze the trigger while maintaining the FE Control in the downward position (FI).


MULTIPLE EXPOSURES Permits double exposures on the same strip of film. 1. Set the OL/DE switch to DE. 2. Aim the camera and depress the trigger while maintaining the FE Control in the forward position. 3. Set the REW/FOW switch to REW. 4. Cover the lens with a lens cap or close the shutter opening, then depress the trigger to rewind the film. 5. Remove the lens cap or open the shutter. 6. Set the REW/FOW to FOW and depress the trigger for double exposure. Set the Exposure Aperture Control back to 0 for normal filming.

REVERSE FILMING Fascinating cinematography through special effects. 1. Cover the lens with a lens cap or close the shutter opening. 2. Depress the trigger while maintaining the FE Control in the forward position. 3. Set the REW/FOW switch to REW. 4. Remove the lens cap or open the shutter opening, then depress the trigger to perform reverse filming. 5. Replace the lens cap or reclose the shutter opening. 6. Set the REW/FOW switch to FOW and depress the trigger to wind back the film sequence.
