The Royal National Lifeboat Institution Fun Day happens at the boathouse,  just opposite the Dragon Theatre on the promenade. Screenings took place on site at the lifeboat station, or in the Dragon Theatre.

Wicked17 Festival put on a screening of the coastal film collection from the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales as part of ‘Britain on Film: Coast and Sea’ in partnership with the Rhyl lifeboat association and Rhyl history association.

Cardiff was once the busiest coal exporting port in the world, along with Swansea and other coastal locations. Why not team up with a local restaurant on the marina or waterfront?

Wales is famous for aquatic adventure sports like surfing, stand-up paddleboarding and coasteering. Take inspiration from the Dragon Theatre who screened archive shorts for spectators during the local Paddle boarding weekend.

Wales unique 870-mile Wales Coast Path runs the entire length of our shores. Why not arrange a coastal walk before warming up with a film and refreshments?

EVENT IDEAS

We have around 230 beaches and 50 islands in Wales, with more Blue Flag beaches per mile than anywhere else in Britain. You could get the community involved in a beach clean-up as part of your special event.

Do you have local wildlife organisations that you would work with on added value events for audiences?

Attract families with sea themed kids corners, offering arts and crafts.

In 2015 our coastline attracted well over 4 million overnight visits and £800 million of expenditure. Do you have local hotels that could offer special offers to your audiences?
