El hombre al que vemos completamente desnudo, sujeto en todo momento a cadenas de hierro, se presenta a sí mismo como “Klaus. 60 años. Gay. Esclavo”. The Incomplete es un retrato –tan realista que acaba orientándose hacia el más delirante absurdo– de esta criatura aparentemente contradictoria: un tipo enternecedor, amante del dolor, cautivo de un legado imborrable (su padre fue militar y su madre educadora en la época de Hitler). Este mediometraje situó a Soldat en el panorama cinematográfico internacional, revelándole como el gran antropólogo de la Alemania actual. JAVIER H.
The man we see completely naked, chained from beginning to end, introduces himself as “Klaus. 60. Gay. Slave.” The Incomplete is a portrait —such a realistic one that it eventually turns most madly absurd— of this seemingly contradictory individual: an adorable guy, a pain lover, a prisoner of an indelible legacy (his father was a soldier and his mother was a teacher during Hitler’s time). Dennis regala a su novio la experiencia de vivir durante una semana en una cárcel de máxima seguridad. Soldat observa en tono documental, la extravagante situación en la que se encuentran estos dos granjeros y realiza un retrato romántico donde la perversión se ha incorporado a las formas de cariño. With great strokes of humour and love, Jan Soldat builds The Sixth Season, where he continues his investigation on the nature of fetish and power relationships within the couple. As a present, Dennis gives his boyfriend the experience of living for a week in a maximum security prison.
