Born in San Jose, Antique, March 3, 1894; the son of Feli.x Aguilar and Lucena de Aguilar; l.'eceived his primary education from the public school of his hometown and completed his elementary course in noilo, Iloilo, in! 1911. He studied in the Antique High School and later transfen-ed to the Philippine School of Commerce and Cosmopolitan Business College in Manila, where he took up bookkeeping, stenography and typewriting, 1915-1916. He returned to Antique and started to work as derk in the office of the Provincial Treasurer; later he held various positions in the offices of the Provincial Treasurers of Antique, Capiz, Leyte and Romblon, as traveling deputy cashier, special and administrative deputy, and assistant Provincial Treasurer.
