A New Approach Matthew J. Grieco has been a community provider of cremation and burial services in Chester County for over 22 years. In 2018, after 20 years operating Grieco Family Funeral Homes, Matt evolved his services into a new model that he felt would uniquely serve the Southern Chester County Community. With end of life ceremonies and events already trending away from traditional funeral homes, and cremation now the predominant choice among Americans, Matt created a “less is best” philosophy of operating.

Pictured are just some of the many “Community Partners” Matt is fortunate to have to host all types of uplifting end of life events.

When you call Matt at a time of loss, Matt will work with you in the comfort of your own home. Ceremonies can be held in locations outside of a traditional funeral home, including established locations with Matt’s community partners—Country Clubs, Churches, Halls, or even your backyard. As a Certified Celebrant, Matt is uniquely qualified to guide families through the grief and healing process after the loss of a loved one. “Every person has a story. Employee Spotlight: Mark Oellig Mark was pleased to join the staff at Kuzo and Foulk Funeral Homes in February of 2020 after working in Maryland & Erie, Pennsylvania. Despite having to navigate through a tough pandemic, Mark has found a new and comfortable home right here in Southern Chester County. Mark grew up in nearby Lancaster County. While he was still in high school, he reached out to the funeral home in his small town to ask for a job and to his surprise, he was offered a position. Today, when anyone askes Mark how he became a funeral director, his quick answer is, “I had a high school job that got out of control”. The better answer is, Mark was Photography by: Danielle Vennard

able to observe the caring and positive impact a career in funeral service had on many. As he reflects back on over 20 years working in funeral service, he has not been disappointed. When Mark is not working, he enjoys getting outside, playing golf and walking around the town of Kennett Square. He is also an avid follower of Penn State athletics. Mark is often reminded why he entered into funeral service in the first place: “…to be faithful to those who have placed their trust in him”. He would welcome anyone who has questions related to the funeral industry to reach out; even if it just so happens to be a chance meeting along a sidewalk in Kennett Square.
