FIG Admin is offering an opportunity for six existing FIG Partners to â€˜take ownershipâ€™ of the FIG Network over the coming months. For a nominal sum, our six FIG Board Members will determine policy and strategy as well as working together with other FIG Regions to co-operate on crossborder projects, establishing trade lanes and recruiting additional FIG Partners. Through regional ownership our six Regional Managers / Board Members will receive all revenues (membership fees) for their region and will work with other regions to create a truly multi-national forwarding operation.

As with all FIG Regions there are some countries with only minor interaction between FIG Partners and these are listed on our register as competent FIG Partners but due to low levels of trade, we do not currently levy an annual fee.
Taking into account levels of representation and potential opportunities FIG Admin has placed a value of 2.0 x revenue for this region - GBP £ 6,270.00
Table shows existing FIG Partners with year of joining and preliminary ‘grade’ on the FIG ‘Gold Standard’. Existing FIG Partners generate an annual revenue of GBP £ 3,135.00.
NB: Currently FIG Admin charges an application fee GBP £150.00 (once only) in addition to membership fees to process applications for any country. This charge would continue until NB: Membership fees (available territories) alternative arrangements were made for local administration. are shown as a guideline only and can be set by Regional Managers. Membership fees for existing FIG Partners can only be increased to a maximum 10% each year according to current FIG constitution.
FIG Admin is currently making a number of changes to the FIG website to allow Regional Managers access to all administration functions including our ‘bulk mailing’ facility which allows a single message to be sent to all FIG Partners in any or all regions.
As you will be aware, FIG Admin has spent the past ten years developing the membership of figgroup and are proud to have taken this organisation from zero to 100 members during this period. This ‘first phase’ of development is now complete.
Online applications are received through the FIG website and can be approved/made live with a single click of the mouse. Access to individual FIG Partner accounts, conference registrations, one-to-one booking software, notice board, photo/video gallery are all functions of the FIG Admin panel. Naturally admin users can update pages, add latest news and many other functions.
In order to provide appropriate ‘succession management’ and to take figgroup to the next level, FIG Admin would like to hand the network over to the FIG ‘family’ to manage progression and use figgroup as a vehicle to create a truly multi-national forwarding facility with 100 offices worldwide for importers and exporters alike.
In addition to the existing functionality, FIG Admin will add a facility for all Regional Managers to communicate with each other including conference calls between each other.
By developing six regions, communication for ‘cross-border’ projects will be more direct and management decisions will be taken by just six Regional Managers rather than by 100 members.
Ownership of the FIG website will be shared between the FIG Regional Managers. FIG Admin has made significant investment in this highly advanced website/database and will continue to improve and maintain the website for a 12 month period after all Regional Managers are appointed. If required, FIG Admin staff can continue to maintain and develop this critical facility on an ongoing basis for a nominal fee. Hosting is arranged through FIG’s own hosting reseller package which can continue for a nominal annual hosting fee. FIG Admin staff will be available on an ongoing basis to resolve any technical issues and offer guidance on IT development.
As FIG Partners continue to develop global projects, this regional structure will provide a solid foundation and a single point of contact for each project. The ideal scenario would be that Regional Managers share webbased software facilities such as invoicing, tracking and HBL. The timescale and reach of this stage of development can be discussed between Regional Managers. In short, we expect our Regional Managers to apply their expertise and industry experience to take figgroup to the next stage of development. FIG Admin will be available for support and guidance for (at least) 12 months after handover.
5. Regional Ownership Q & A Q: A:
Why Regional Ownership? 1. Our CEO is ‘getting old’ and would like to retire. 2. We need to ensure ‘continuity’ for figgroup for years to come. 3. As FIG Partners continue to work together on larger projects a high degree of industry expertise is required. FIG Admin do not have the required ‘ skill-set’. 4. Although FIG Admin has been approached to sell the FIG Network (as a whole) to a third party, FIG Admin is keen for existing FIG Partners to take ownership as many of our FIG Partners have been part of our ten year ‘journey’.
What is Regional Ownership? Regional Ownership is a way to ‘transfer’ ownership of the FIG Network to it’s members. By splitting the FIG global network into six regions, the ‘owners’ of each region can bring local expertise and guidance to the group. Each Regional Owner will take a seat on a ‘virtual ‘Board of Members’ which will determine strategy , create growth through local recruitment and industry expertise on co-operative projects. Regional Owners will pay a nominal sum to FIG Admin for ownership of each region and will receive all revenues generated (membership fees) from that region.
What is the cost of Regional Ownership? The cost to purchase a ‘FIG Region’ will depend on the current revenues generated by that region. It is expected that the cost of purchasing a FIG Region will be recouped within two years. Please request an information pack for the region you are interested in.
Who can apply for Regional Ownership? All FIG Partners have equal standing within the FIG ‘family’ and any FIG Partner can apply to purchase the region in which they operate.
What part will FIG Admin play in Regional Ownership? FIG Admin will support Regional Managers for 12 months after all regions are sold. FIG will continue to organise the FIG Annual Conference (subject to approval from the FIG Board of Members). After 12 months FIG Admin will hand over control of the FIG website and associated software to a nominated administrator.
What are the responsibilities and ongoing costs related to Regional Ownership? FIG Admin has laid out a summary of expected costs and a ‘temporary’ policy which will remain in place until all regions are sold. At this point the Board of Members will decide on policy and strategy for the future.
How will the Board of Members communicate? FIG Admin is currently building a communications platform which will operate via the FIG website and will allow Board Members to communicate by IM, mail or video chat directly from the FIG web pages. Video conferencing (A/V) will also be available for ‘virtual board meetings’ with the facility to screen-share and upload files.
6. figgroup - Regional Ownership Structure This next phase of development for figgroup will allow six existing FIG Partners to literally take ownership of the FIG global network (100 countries). It is suggested that the FIG website be ’re-positioned’ to sell FIG as a ’multi-national’ forwarding organisation with six regional offices rather than a ’freight forwarders network’. The six Regional Managers will have complete autonomy in each region allowing recruitment of ’preferred partners’ (NB: Existing FIG Partners cannot be replaced until current membership expires). FIG Admin will over the next few months design a communications platform allowing Regional Managers to communicate in real time through IM, mail and video chat. Video conferencing will allow ‘virtual’ board meetings at regular intervals and real-time interaction on shared projects.
